Don't be surprised by the 1k subscribers Andy. Your channel has fantastic content and is a channel for real cyclists. Keep it up bro. Regards, James, Isle of Man.
Hi Andy, as always I enjoy these rides. I cycled (with all my camping gear). The North Downs Way a couple of years ago. I rode up box Hill early one morning and it was nice chatting to some of the fast people wizzing past ! I was in impressed with them, and some where impressed with me and all my gear. Good vibes, I really enjoyed it. Look forward to seeing you progress. Atb Grant 👍.
Yep, I remember that TdF stage. I was going on a motorcycle trip to France that day with my son as pillion so we managed to catch them around Overton/Whitchurch, then again in Portsmouth for the finish, before boarding the ferry along with what seemed to be the whole caravan. It was very noisy on board with a late night disco blasting away, so if any riders were on board too, it's amazing that they managed the 270 km stage the next day. Congrats on the 1000 subs - quality will out
No surprise you have hit the 1k mark Andy. I find your videos have a nice relaxed no pretence about them so are really easy and interesting to watch. Keep up the great work 👍. Strange you saying about the TDfF, I was working in Leeds a few years back and came across the TDF flag stones in the pavement and suddenly remembered it also started at Leeds one year.
Hey Andy, this is Tom from the top of Box! Was a pleasure to meet you and good luck with the Trans Continental. I watched a few of your other videos as well - inspirational content, keep it up mate. Thanks for the shout-out, I'm convinced you've sped up the footage a bit though!
Getting serious Andy ! 😊 I'm going for a 6 Hour constant pressure on the spin bike next week - did a 5 Hour last week....for me this is better than shorter interval training. Gave the Club ride a rest Sunday as I injured my calf muscle on the spin bike last week - 4.5 hrs in and for some odd reason [must of been tired] tried to freewheel on a fixed hub !! 😆.....all ok now !
Oh man that doesn’t sound great, I haven’t ridden fixie but I know it’s complicated 😬 fingers crossed all heals quickly so you can get that session in but don’t explode your calf 😬
@@theroadprovides Just a slight strain - worse than I thought though but TEN's, sauna and massager helped. Yup calf muscles are extremely important in cycling 😉
That was great Andy! Congratulations on hitting the 1,000 mark, but not at all surprising. I'm enjoying coming along for the ride as you fly through the countryside. Enjoyed the Box Hill climb with the data overlays - would be interesting to see the overlays on other kinds of sections.
Hi mate, thanks for the congrats and thanks for watching for a while now :) you're defo an early adopter! I'll try to add the overlays in more, I like the effect, its a bit fiddly;y but just need a good workflow for adding them in really
Well done and congrats on crossing over 1,000 subs. I was just about to type a comment "I see you've crossed over 1,000 subs" and then you mentioned it. Best of luck on acquiring sponsorship.
Congratulations Andy on the 1k. Watched all your content, full of great advise on endurance. Can't wait for spring and summer to do those longer rides 🚲🚲🚲
I enjoyed that Andy, as I cycle around Box Hill quite often (and I started my channel for the same reasons as you!) Congrats on the 1k subs, I'm still on the way there!
Thanks mate! I'm guessing youre closer to BH Han I am? It;'s cool over there just quite far for me, but in the summer I come over more often with longer days etc. How ae you finding content creation etc? an adjustment?? I struggle to fit it in time wise but it is rewarding
Thanks for your tips to become ultra endurance rider. I’m currently training for may first 200km ride. Cheers mate for your next ultra endurance race. Watching from Philippines
Andy, congratulations! And well deserved. I’ve been watching for quite a while now and really look forward to your videos after the weekend - this one was a little later than usual. My advice, turn advertising on as soon as you are able. I did that on my channel and although you don’t get a lot, it’s money you can use to help your channel. All the best, I’ll be watching and hope to bump into you at some point!
Thankyou bud and for the tip 😁 I think I have it all turned in now so see what happens. Yeah hopefully will bump into each other mate, where are you based?
@@theroadprovides within cycling distance! (If we rode towards each other) New Alresford would be equidistant. I’m probably going to start posting cycling content to my channel soon enough, I am on my own journey! Would be great to follow you on Strava if you post, put a link in your channel and video descriptions
@LeeWright I rode that way not too long ago actually, I have a route that goes around Winchester and back past you, can you see the Strava link in the descriptions?
Congratulations on breaking the 1,000. I am not at all surprised. I’ve commented previously that I enjoy your videos. I like the relaxed delivery and lack of b.s! I look forward, as always to the next one. Keep up the good work.
hey Andy, well done on the 1k subs. i'm a recent subscriber, having found you looking for PBP vids. been thru the old ones and really enjoyed them. "something to talk to" - totally get that. i'm sure we all lok a bit mental talking and singing away to ourselves on a solo ride. it;d be good to see what gear you use and how you manage filming etc as you're riding. always wondered if it was a bit of a faff juggling cameras whilst just trying to crack on. keep it up
Thanks for the feedback and appreciate watching the vids :) I will probably show this more I expect, but in short I have an alpkit stem cell bag to hold my camera (a DJI osmosis action 4) with a grille mount. Then just got used to riding no hands to "present", it's easier than it seems when you get used to it but only if youre comfortable doing it. It is a challenge but totally worth it.
Thanks bud, it's a weird platform I find, really hard to understand what works and what doesn't. Some are popular, some not at all. It;'s so random it makes it easier I thunk to nit get too invested in each vid. I'm just planning to not make any real judgements until I have a year in the bag then I'll maybe have an understanding of how it works. But mainly I'm just gonna post what I enjoy, it's never gonna pay the bills, I don't actually understand how some people with like 30-40k views per vid are doing it as their job? It can't pay well??
What a great ride , I was surprised to see your heart rate above 170bpm at the very start of boxhill climb , thats very impressive to keep that high , I haven't done that for while . I ride a hardtail up the back of boxhill on a bridleway to the top and have been using tgat as my fitness gauge for 16yrs now 😅 my best time on my 26er was 8min 30sec 😅, that was prob about 10yrs ago now, different bike now thats slower 😮. But I did it last week and watchig your heart rate thats where I am in the last 200m of climb, no way I could do that from the bottom at the moment 😅 your training is looking great for the intercontinental
Was interested to hear you dont have power displayed. I guess you prefer to go on feel? I like the checking with power even on gravel just to know I'm pacing OK. My four favourite fields are 3sPower, Power Zone, HR Zone and WindField - wind direction never a surprise (not always a good thing when you know you're straight into it at 20 knots, like lately)! From what I hear only a fraction subscribe, so you've probably got 5-10x more people watching :) Nice work on the graphics too! Keep up the good work.
Hey, thanks for the feedback, I'm just trying to add something new each time and learn to make them better so appreciate the feedback on the overlays! I do go on feel mainly yeah, primarily, then HR as a guide, then power for review after generally. Power during all layers doesn't work form me personally
... that was just a matter of time for You to hit the 1000`s;- there will be even more...Congrats on that and on another nice ride! Funny though I wondered after your last video how You gonna prepare for elevation on the big race coming up, and at least You mention "hill" this time, but seriously, what do have in mind and/or what and how are You training for these endless mountains on TC...planning a training camp, something like that maybe? Because, my region (Baltic Sea Germany) is pretty much the same as your`s,... coastal, windy and hilly, but no mountains at all...
Thanks so much bud 😁 it’s a great point actually and one I think I’ll make a vid on now you mention it, I’ll shout you out. Short answer is I have climbed mountains before, for me it’s more a mental barrier as they’re massive. But still comes down to just staying strong mentally. So an all day ride is a similar challenge in my eyes, just not getting as high up 🤣 I’ll answer in detail soon I think as it’s a great point
Don't be surprised by the 1k subscribers Andy. Your channel has fantastic content and is a channel for real cyclists. Keep it up bro. Regards, James, Isle of Man.
I concur - presentation and tips are 1st class plus much info. in the comments 👍
I follow a lot of cycling channels but this is the one that I drop everything to watch when a new video posts! Great vids, Andy!
Thanks so much guys I’m really enjoying doing this so appreciate you’re all around to watch and chat to 😁 defo all OG early adopters

True yes, it’s shame it was all before I got into road riding. I’ve watched the tour of Britain at least 😁 thanks for the encouragement as always

Hey good to meet you bud, and no you bloody flew past me 🤣 I almost held your wheel for a sec. It felt like I was going backwards up there 😬
My lord, 50 miles is enough for me… amazing
I just love riding my bike all day 😁

Another belter Andy 👌
Glad you enjoyed it
