That "Thank you for your years of work" at the end of the Byakuya scene always feels to me like it's also a subtle tribute to the original VA, Keiji Fujiwara, who died in April 2020. (The VA who voices Byakuya now is Satoshi Mikami.)
11:25 its not just the dedication. It shows Byakuya's absolute faith in Senku. He may not be Senku's biological father, but this is the sort of fatherly faith and support and motivation a man (the son) needs to achieve true greatness.
It is proven again and again, with evey scene he is in, that Byakuya is a biggest GOAT of Dr.Stone. He is most important character in series. Former teacher, an astronaut, an absolute gigachad of a man. With every asspull in Dr. Stone, everything that Byakuya left Senku feels earned. Also i realize that Byakuya didn't just hoped for Senku's miraculous return. His plan was most likely to leave it all to future genereations, because 100 tales carried a lot of information that could be studied over time as humanity advances. Only reason Chrome became obsessed with geology, is because he thought that something would help Ruri, which is probably something he heard from tale about rocks with magic properties.
I always just figured Byakuya chose to do it alone so that his and the others' descendants could enjoy their own lives. Even he admits he doesn't know if what he's doing has much merit. He's not a scientist like Senku, he just believes he will find some out of the box use for what he's gathered.
That scene always gets to me every time. I tear up so much from the manga and the anime made it even better. 😭 Strap yourselves up, you too! The rest of this arc is gonna be the wildest ride in this series so far!
If it makes you feel any better, that scene with Byakuya got me hard, too. A simple act of kindness to express an emotion too complex for words. As captivating as the scientific breakthroughs are, it's scenes like these that really make this show special for me.
every time there's a byakuya flashback, it breaks my heart because i know everything he did was to ensure senku and the rest of the world could flourish. T_T it's so painful
After making it back down to earth, Byakuya spent ALL of the time he had left doing everything he could to prepare the world for Senku, based purely on the belief that if he put the effort in now, Senku would find some way to make use of it in the future. Undisputed number 1 best anime dad
Byakuya is a chad, but also I'm so proud of Kohaku during this episode. Even though she's not as science brained as say Chrome, she's learned a lot and trusts the science team, it's so good.

Wait wasn't he Leorio from Hunter x Hunter and Hannes from AOT, damn
@@LymLevolveonyep, same guy rip
Byakuya's phrase of "I don't mind not being the one looking up" Is such a powerful line

Amongst the best of dads in anime, Byakuya rests easy. With his fist, a miracle occured.

Best parent. Provide his kid with resources and trust he'll put them to good use.

Ibara has the best scary faces!

Hit the halfway point of the season. we had to wait a while before we got more episodes. But that did make this episode hit harder
The bar is pretty low, but Byakuya here making a case to be best anime dad
スーパーヒーローみたいな力はなくても、自分の仕事をひたすら続けるだけで誰かを救うことはできるんだなって。
The manga panel showing byakuya's death is beautiful, with the water and sky being pitch black and the white being byakuya and the reflected stars
Rest in peace Keiji Fujiwara, the original voice of Byakuya.
I find it weird that they didn't but the bottle in something soft like cloth or weed...
And falling down in to the water would make him cough... T_T
That ryan goerge
