Jack O'Neill being iconic for 10 minutes straight

- Heyy, so this video was originally supposed to be posted on #StargateDay but unfortunately I've been very busy. This is the first time I'm trying this kind of video. I loooove the concept and found it too bad we didn't have it for Stargate so here it is !
Of course, it's my first time so it's not perfect, I don't even know if I'm proud of my work tbh so please, bear with me aha. Also the quality isn't the best but hey, Stargate is a pretty old show aha !
Anyways, I hope you'll enjoy watching this as much as I enjoyed making it ! :)
A video of this kind can't be considered complete without the "In the middle of my back-swing?!?!" scene
almost that entire episode would need to be in this video
@@manuelschneider1105, they included parts of it, but you're right
@@manuelschneider1105 having watched that episode a ton of times now, I'd have to agree, practically every line of Jack's would end up in this and so would the scene where he resigns, calls Hammond "George" and kisses Carter in the middle of the hall along with everything else he does during that montage.
As well as "keep an eye on zippy and his kids"
...or that scene early in the series after energy-clone Jack returns 2 base w/ the SG-1 team, so when the *real* O'Neill comes back thru the Stargate he's immediately put in confinement because everyone assumes *he's* the clone -- @ 1st....
O'Neill: [annoyed, pacing back & forth] Come on, guys, let me out of here.
[General Hammond & the rest of SG-1 watch O'Neill via the security camera]
O'Neill: [using a chair to get his face right up in front of the camera lens] Tell you what! Let me put it *nicely*! GET ME THE HELL OUTTA HERE!!
Hammond: If that's not Colonel O'Neill, I'd like to know what the hell we're looking at.
[Captain Carter smirks in amusement as O'Neill winds up, then slams a bunkbed pillow into the camera]
"Captain James T. Kirk of teh starship "Enterprise"
"your dogtag says otherwise"
"They're lying" xD xD
I swear, it feels like Richard Dean Anderson would get the script and then immediately throw it out, improving his way through half the show X'D
I'm pretty sure that's exactly how it went....
He's an older, dryer, pg-13 (not for want of trying) Ryan Reynolds at times...
Actually that's what he did a lot, it works on the camera but it was hell backstage. all that helped with the success of the show but he said he regrets being so rude at the crew
Classic O'Neill.
Grandpa Nick: "Daniel is here."
O'Neill: Disbelieves.
Grandpa Nick: "Jack don't be an ass"
O'Neill: ... "Daniel is here."
I love it and the look on Frasers face too like Daniel?!!
What episode is that scene from?
@@ilurvemv crystal skull near end of S4 I think.
Thanks, I'm going to have to rewatch it.
@@ilurvemv crystal skull S03 EP21
4:28 "Though a candle burns in my house, there's nobody home"
That was a brilliant poke in the side of the Ascended Lantians with their cryptic messages, had me ROFL
Teal'c: Doctor Frasier believes you are not strong enough to undertake such a mission.
O'Neill: Yeah, whatever... *thwump*
Teal'c: She is usually right in these matters.
7:00
O’Neill: (Gets pulled off the floor) Thank you. (Falls face first onto the bed) (Muffled) Thank you.
Teal’c: You are welcome, O’Neill.
Indeed
As a Minnesotan, I of course love that Richard Dean Anderson is a Minnesota man who insisted his character be Minnesotan as well. There's an episode where if you have the captions on it randomly says "speaks with a Minnesotan accent" for no reason. Plus the line about "exploring the natural beauty of northern Minnesota" and Jack always trying to bring people up north to go fishing with him. A+++
I didn’t know this!!! Omg thank you for sharing!!
You left out the moment when they steal the mothership and O'Neill spots the "God" chair, says "Ooooh!" runs up to it like a kid about to grab the best seat in the movie theater, plops into it, then looks around at everyone before saying "... shotgun." :D
With 7 seasons of being the main guy, one of being semi-regular and a bunch of guest-starring roles in the last two, as well as Atlantis, there moments not included would fill a "...for ten MORE minutes straight", easy.
Which episode was that? I'm in the process of rewatching the series
@@therickman1990 I'm pretty sure it was the 4th/5th season finale/opener.
Poor Jack, he just wants someone to go fishing with him but all his team are like yeah, NOPE. XD
Best line in the whole entire series “in the middle of my backswing?”
Daniel and Jack's friendship is honestly what makes the show worth watching.
@Darkstar Teal'c's slow head nod as show of respect is one of those aspects
What about the constant will they pork/won't they pork of Jack and Sam?
It's the classic Spock/Kirk pathos/logos contrast.... works in infinite variations
right 💀
Jack's crossword answers are great. Celestial body: he wrote Uma Thurman.
I mean, he wasn't wrong at the time.
😂😂😂😂
Daniel: "A fool's paradise is a wise mans hell"
Jack: "Never run with...scissors?"
One man's ceiling is another man's floor.
It’s my sidearm i swear. This one killed me!
still one of my favourite scene of the entire series :D
How have I not discovered this show sooner? This man is a whole-ass mood.
It's one of the best sci-fi shows ever made. Yes it's 25 years old so it's a little campy to be sure, but if you watch all ten seasons you will not be dissapointed.
You're probably a weakl8ng Gen, Z-er!!
Though a candle burns in my house, there's nobody's home.
Amazing the story of my life
Huh best description of how I was during college.
Didn't expect roughly 2 dozen likes.
Imagine if O'Neill worked on the Enterprise in an alternate reality. Would be hilarious to see the dynamic between him, Captain Archer and Commander Tucker.
Well, he certainly would MacGyver away every Warp Core Breach :D
"I believe the Canucks of Vancouver are superior warriors."
SG-1 would have never made-it to season 2 without Jack O’neill and his amazing humor, and that’s O’neill with 2 l’s😂😂😂
Jack was probably smarter then every one and played dumb to see how every thing turn-out
Exactly...
Carter was formal education smarter jack was casual smarter
It's called being "Wise" :D
I mean… they made him a general for a reason.
The fucking backpack scene. Absolute gold. So simple, yet wonderfully done.
Teal'c has two mods: Kick ass, and just vibin'
Indeed
and with that, I watching the whole series from the start...again.
If I could pick one episode to emphasis Jack O'Neill to a tee, it would be "Window of Opportunity"
*O'Neill blasts a golf ball through the event horizon*
"Colonel O'Neill, WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!"
"iN THE MIDDLE OF MY BACKSWING!!!!!"
LOLS!
Teal’c is Jack’s MVP in humor.
Should just be the entire series.
The man is iconic all day
One of my favourite lines in the whole series "it's my sidearm, I swear"..
Ah my TH-cam has once again pleased me, thank you oh great TH-cam gods for blessing me with this amazing video
My favorite: "Carter... I CAN SEE MY HOUSE!!!"
3 fries short of a happy meal 😂😂😂
8:15 ladies and gentlemen Colonel of the flagship special forces team of the most important operation on earth, and one of the most respected humans by the Asgard
Jack: O'Neill with two Ls!
Also Jack: *holds up 3 fingers*
XD
5:10
" *Mini...me.* "
ok that was funny xD
Damn Loki!!! ✊✊ 😂😂
6:10 WHACKOOO!!!
Probably my favorite scene out of the whole series - and one of the best episodes for timing too. Such a well done series, especially the first 4-5 seasons.
EPic.
I wonder was that a one take or did they crack up like thousand times?!😉
I have that part as an alarm on my phone. 🥰😁
1:40 Mom? Dad? Please stop fighting.
8:15 I'd like to remind everyone that the Asgard named their most powerful and advanced class of ship after this man.
Who else loves Richard dean anderson and think he’s amazing and fits the roles Jack AND macgyver better any than anyone else could have?❤️
Even more awesome that these two characters are so extremely contradictionary and he pulls both off absolutely authentic
7:29 Jack knows too much here about the Greek mythology.
I thought everyone knew the story of Prometheus and how his brother Epimetheus refused to heed his advise. As a result we all have to put up with women.
@@matthew8153 Yeah, I'm saying Jack who does not care about history knows something that specific. He sure has looked that up ;)
@@justanotherhotguy I mean playing the detached sarcastic "idiot", while actually being quite smart and educated is kind of his shtick.
@@Antares-dw9iv That telescope of his wasn't just to spy on the neighbors. "Well, not at first."
@@Antares-dw9iv can't remember which episode it was or who says it but someone says Jack deliberately pretends not to be as smart as he really is.

"I'm feeling much better, thank you."
One of my favourite moments was the third last episode of season 8 where Jack refuses to believe that Daniel is dead because he came back one too many times, expecting him to walk right into the door before shouting something along the lines of "I'M NOT FALLING FOR IT AGAIN!" And carter looks at him as if he's insane.
Random old man: “Jack don’t be an ass”
Jack: “Daniel??”
I miss them so much! I just can’t have enough of these guys N girls!
This was a lot of fun. So disappointing its the only one of its kind.
Aquagreen53 I made one about Rodney, but yeah it’s sad there aren’t many :(
That's kind of the point? Every episode of SG-1 being like this would get tiring very quickly.
@@ANTSEMUT1 I meant the video style not the episode. I agree with you on that point.
*So help me... If I wake up, and I'm singing soprano...*
Now that, I would pay to see😂
I just keep coming back to this video and dying of laughter. I love this!
I never missed an episode of MacGyver, nor Stargate: SG-1.
Angus MacGyver was cool, but Jack O'Niell was the best.
That's O'Niell with (holds up three fingers) TWO Ls!
It's funny because I grew up watching MacGyver. I didn't get to watch Stargate when it originally aired because we didn't have Showtime so I'm watching it now on Netflix. When I first started watching, I liked MacGyver better and thought O'Neill was too grumpy and curmudgeonly but now I like O'Neill better because he cracks me up so much.
@Darkstar It's on Netflix but I discovered just yesterday that it's not the full originally aired episodes and they've been leaving scenes out, makes me so angry, so has Amazon Prime apparently. That I know of, the show is on Amazon Prime, Netflix, maybe Hulu and is syndicated on the Comet channel (but their picture quality is really awful).
@@ilurvemv That's why I'm so glad I have them on DVD. Actually I don't have the last few seasons - reminds me need to ge them before they get scarce :p
Freaking streaming sucks....
@@DocNo27 Okay, so I might've misspoke. I'm not sure if Netflix is leaving scenes out of most episodes because I never watched the original run of it. Apparently they did however have the cut-down version of Children of the Gods because Brad Wright tweeted about it and they definitely have the cut-down version of Threads and might've done the same with any other episodes that were originally 90 minutes because all episodes on Netflix, not counting the 2-parters, are about 45 minutes each.
I didn't love the last few seasons, not going to lie. I just finished SG-1 last night and am sad RDA wasn't in it at all, wish they could've found some way to include Jack in the series finale when he was such a huge part of the show. I know RDA had to leave because of his daughter and Hammond had to because of Don Davis's health but I really missed Jack and Hammond, Mitchell and Landry just weren't the same IMO. :(
@@ilurvemv Yes - for the reasons you mentioned it's why it hasn't been that high a priority to get the last few seasons on disk too - but as mediocre as they were they are still better than 99% of the trash pumped out the last 10 years :p
I GET IT NOW!!!
Teal’c and the Seth Guard joke!!!!😂😂🤣🤣
Explain
This show never gets old O'Neil and Carter two of the best characters in science fiction TV
In Daniel Jackson's defense, videoing the plant was useful.
I just started watching this on Amazon Prime around August and I love it.
I'm feeling much better thank you.
4:50 he means how much fucking longer do we have to film in this desert
It's like if Peter Venkman had joined the military
That's the best part.
WHERE'S THE LIE
Underrated comment my friend.
...holy shit
I have the entire DVD set of this series and have watched it way too many times to count.
Same here.....
General Jack O'neill was my gamer tag years ago
The show was just released on blu-ray and it's on sale at Amazon but it's not a remastered version.
I love seeing teal’c smirk at points against jack’s errors
Wanna go fishing?
ACTUALLAAULY
WHile the Scyfy was one of the centric point, what truely shined was the chilestry and banter between the cast.
These were my most favorite shows ever I still try to sneak in a few episodes now and then and during the stupid shut down I watched all of the original cast sg1 episodes. My very favorite episode was where Jack and tealq got stuck in the loop. I truly wish they would finish SGU even if it was just a short mini series or a movie or something.
The loop episode, aka Window of Opportunity, is my favorite too, I haven't finished the series yet but I keep going back and rewatching this one. XD
Dr Fraser is usually correct in such matters.
great compliation!! thank you
miss SG 🥺
the k-nucks joke was because they filmed in Vancouver
Canucks.
The entire series was filmed in Canada
@Edwin Jansen sure
they also referenced the wizard of oz too.
I need to rewatch SG1..and atlantis...this will take some time..
You forgot the single greatest moment in the entire series when daniel asks jack...
Daniel "Wait a minute. Jack, you've been seeing parts of the life of a barber in Indiana for 7 years and you never mentioned it?
Jack "Yeah. Sure I did. I know I did.
Carter "No. No you didn't sir"
Jack "I didn't."
Daniel "You, you didn't find at the least bit odd?"
Jack "Actually no I found it quite... relaxing."
Citizen Joe Season 8, Episode 15
Yes, that was absolutely hilarious. Jack is such an odd duck.
You are a hell of a bowler
@@CaptAmerica300 "you got game son!"
Simply the greatest character on TV.
James T. Kirk, of the Starship Enterprise. Okay he got me xD
After that he said he was Luke Skywalker and said he was from a galaxy far, far away LOL.
The fact they never explored Oniell's and Carter's relationship was a huge disservice to fans.
No way! She was his subordinate
@@WouldntULikeToKnow. not after he left the show
They did Jack and Carter talked about her crush on him and he said he was easy to love and she deserved more than easy. It was hinted in the movies that they were dating or engaged.
Except they did, threads is a good example, and the one where they get interrogated by the tok'ra, and in line I'm the sand her password is fishing.

it was good old days. people used to make show about adventure, hope, justice.
nowadays it is all about dysfunctional dystopia or people backstabbing each other.
So true. I mourn SG-1 and Atlantis every time new promising shows pop out... only to turn out to be a fustercluck of dark, gritty, metaphysical bullshit. Why the heck nobody makes sci-fi shows or movies that are actually *enjoyable* to watch? If i want gritty realism and dark themes i just need to switch to news channel :(
@@FrikInCasualMode what a load of bullshit, stop mistaking bad writing for same iffy understanding of tone. You haven't any of that "dark" bullshit you are talking about

this video is slightly pitched up for some reason, i notice a lot of stargate clips are, but yeah, his voice isnt particularly deep, haha
