That scene has a mistake in it - It's based in 1969. Star trek was already in season 3 by then - They'd have known who Kirk was. Star Wars, on the other hand, wasn't out for another 8 years - so he could have "bought" the name Skywalker (although it sounds stupid). This was the funniest serious science fiction on television. The humor was never overplayed and every one of the four main characters got their turn at being funny.
That's a funny one, although truth be told I'm with Jack. They already have a carrier called Enterprise, a space shuttle was another Enterprise, why not a space ship?
Zamolxes77 I've always assumed that was because there already was a ship with that name in service. Sure, almost nobody would've known that the other would've existed, but I guess that the military still wanted to avoid giving two ships the same name.
Joel Szasz No, I don't think that's a valid reason. Usually there is great competition between different branches of u.s. military. Navy has an Enterprise, the nuclear carrier, maybe its possible for the airforce to have one as well, with the same name.
Zamolxes77 Then maybe the Air Force didn't want to give the name Enterprise to an unproven, unattractive-looking, and prototype design? They probably wanted to save the name for a more refined design that they could be proud of anyways, not that the Prometheus wasn't something to be proud of, for their first interstellar vessel, even if it was ugly-looking.

Jacks cynicism is contagious. About groundhog day..the golfing through the stargate scene really cracked me up, and I seldom do that. Yes kissing Sam would be on my bucket list too.
If you liked that, "200" (S10E6) has Jack and Sam at their wedding (no kissing). Though apparently it's not canon since it was a suggestion for an episode. Clever bit is at the beginning. Before Sam (and Vala) show up, they do a bit of banter between Jack and Daniel to pay tribute to the fans who ship them.
It's funny that only Jack and Teal'c can remember the Time Loop so they could talking about the time they played golf with the Stargate no one else knows what their going on about 😂

@@solandri69 no, most of the rest of the galaxy did not experience the time loops. There were reports at the end of the episode that off world allies had been trying to reach the SGC for weeks (or however long). It was mainly just earth caught in the time loop

Besides, in order for it to be copyright infringement, Star trek would of had to have created the name. The name Enterprise has been a ship name for far longer than science fiction has been a thing. Before the US was even founded, we had two navy ships bear the name.

BWAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!😂🤣😂
I wonder if he changed it because he realised Star Trek was around in 1969. :)
"Don't you keep me waiting!" LOL!
+Aja85 ep?
Jacks cynicism is contagious. About groundhog day..the golfing through the stargate scene really cracked me up, and I seldom do that. Yes kissing Sam would be on my bucket list too.
Thank You! I've been trying to find the clip where Jack resigns and kisses Carter forever! that's my favorite episode in the whole show!
The episode title is Window Of Opportunity.
I love Richard Dean Anderson, especially as Jack O'Neill!
God I miss this show. SO MUCH!
5:24 Hammond’s face is priceless.
I bet the Asgards could make a functional Galaxy class starship and call it the Enterprise. O'Neill deserves that.
The scene when Daniel it turned into a prior, and when they capture him, when jack meets Daniel he says " this is new " classic 😂
I watched this whole box set when I was younger I loved this show 😂
I love Macgyver, and have never seen Stargate, but seeing Mac like this makes me want to try it lol 😂

Dear god, stuck on a glacier with MacGyver 😂😂
The womens shower room scene ,carter " are you in here sir ?" ......" nope " 😂
It's funny that only Jack and Teal'c can remember the Time Loop so they could talking about the time they played golf with the Stargate no one else knows what their going on about 😂
Almost true. The people on the planet where random golf balls arrived through the Stargate would remember... Remember the time loop was localised
@@PAPO1990 No, those gates were also affected I think. There was a region of gates affected. The Tokra couldn't dial in so they could probably only dial out to gates within their bubble.
@@PAPO1990 Only the three people next to the ancient device which kicked off the time loops (Jack, Teal'c, and the bad guy) could remember the loops. Everyone else in all those systems just replayed the same day over and over with no memory of previous loops.
Jack and Teal'c made a remarkable amount of progress learning Ancient in just 3 months.
@@solandri69 no, most of the rest of the galaxy did not experience the time loops. There were reports at the end of the episode that off world allies had been trying to reach the SGC for weeks (or however long). It was mainly just earth caught in the time loop
@@DKNguyen3.1415 probably true, but less fun than imagining a planet or whatever that had a bunch of random golf balls arrive 🤣
Can we take a moment to appreciate how clean Teal'cs drive was
Jack was so the best Character in this show without him it was nothing.
I love how in the time loop episode, just to drive his point about going crazy, he makes the clown face as he's describing the term "lose it".
"dont you keep me waiting" lmao his sarcasm is just hilarious
My two favorite of SG-1 was the time loop and Urgo. I was surprised, laughed,,,, well the best of SG-1, thank you.
"3 fries short of a happy meal" LOLOL
"No! It's ok, it's important! You must interrupt!"
The moment he kissed Sam was the best part of the episode!
Miss this Show ... sniff
Carter: sir we can’t call it the enterprise
O’Neil: why not
Carter: because they’ll sue us sir
Plus, they already had two of them. It would be super confusing trying to keep track of Aircraft Carrier Enterprise, Space Shuttle Enterprise, and Space Cruiser Enterprise.
"The name of Thor's ship is Daniel Jackson" Daniel's face! Haha
Great scene choices! Yes, Jack O'Neill (Richard Dean Anderson) MADE Stargate what it was/is. (Owning the DVD's is a great way to re-watch this series as often as you would like.) Thanks for the video - a LOT of good comments.
"why not?"
Copyright infringement
Not if you pay for the name. ^^
Besides, in order for it to be copyright infringement, Star trek would of had to have created the name. The name Enterprise has been a ship name for far longer than science fiction has been a thing. Before the US was even founded, we had two navy ships bear the name.
Have you forgotten about the Aircraft Carrier and the Space Shuttle already bearing that name? ;)
***** i think its purely we're the air force we dont name aircraft like the navy does in universe , IRL cbs or whoever own trek have probably got rights for fictional starships named enterprise, same way apple records arent allowed to make computers despite being an older company than apple computers but a golden delicious can be called an apple. i wont say it makes any sense to a rational person but laws is about logic its about precedence :)
do you realize just how many real ships have the name? not to mention a space shuttle? as of 2025 there will have been NINE ships with that name in the US navy.
"Well, if I knew that, every ten hours, everything was going to go back to the way it was, I could do anything. For as long as I wanted, with no regard for the consequences."
Oh they had a _lot_ of fun with this particular episode.
i loved the child o'neill he nailed jack's tone and timing
Thank you for posting this! Not many people know this show.
3:38 - That impending moment of Oh God What Have I Done...
i saw the full series more than 10 times. sga 5 -6 sgu 1x. when i don't have a movie for the night i put in the dvd and see them again.
Heroes season 7: Anytime is good.... just send me a memo. Brigman: "I'll get you on camera even if all I get is a series of shots of you avoiding being got". O'neill: "Fire away. I hope shots of my ass serve you well" XD
3:47 It's funny, you can see the exact moment Daniel realized what he just did and just kept on doing his thing.
There's a line from an ep in season four after Jack's been hurt he's in the inferemy Janet tells him to stay in bed, he says something about her being a little Napoleon or something, I laughed so hard I couldn't breath. He has the best one liners.
I’m captain James T. Kirk of the starship enterprise... lmao
Imagine how Bob must've felt in the following decades when Star Trek and Star Wars came out.
DrZaius3141 Star Trek was already out in 1969
i terribly miss this show.
Incredible, there are at least 2 episodes that I do not know, yet I thought I saw them all.
omg, the time loop episode was always my favourite...
it always bring back memories of watching it with my dad and brother before they started fighting
The look on Daniel's face when he learns the name of Thor's ship is priceless.
