i think it's been mentioned in several comments down below about only filling up the black, and i think you mentioned that you haven't refilled yet so you may not have tested this out yet but - have you been printing in greyscale settings? And have you noticed that only the black ink goes down? or are they all being used up evenly? i've been trying to do more research, and i've noticed that in all different brands of this type of ink, they mention to fill up all 4 tanks evenly, but i just can't seem to understand why they say so if stencils aren't going to be in "colour" anyway
I’ve been using inkjet stencils for a week now and they’re game changing also the amount of time u save is incredible. The first test I printed a small design and placed on my upper leg and allowed it dry for 20 minutes then I went to the gym for 2 and half hours and half hour of steam room and shower after and the stencil was still on my leg a bit faded off course but you’d still be able to tattoo over it just fine, they last all day long so don’t worry about that part of losing the stencil by rubbing it. Great product.
If i put stencil ink in the black ink tank of a color ecotank to make stencils, will printing regular color images look normal (non-stencil images) even though the normal black ink is replaced by the stencil ink?
Hi. If I put on a stencil how long will it last if i do not want the tattoo right away? I want to have the stencil design on for a few days to see if i like it.
Yeah they do go on a little weaker than real skin. You can use washing up liquid which gives a good transfer to practice skin. Don’t use that on real skin though!
There is a cheaper solution because this ink costs as gold. Buy monochrome inkjet with only black ink color (M1120 EcoTank). On your model when you choose black and white print, the printer still uses all four colors. Monochrome uses only black and perfectly prints "gray" (purple) tones.
Each inkjet printer should have a function like cleaning the printhead or something like that, AND THIS PROCESS RUN EACH TIME YOU STARTUP YOUR PRINTER. I heard that eat up a lot of expensive ink, is it true ? I'm thinking to get this setup , just want to make sure, thanks!
Thank you for the video Jono, have you noticed any difference as far as print quality and saving ink by using the BLK tank soley instead of the color ones? I'm looking for a model that can airprint and this one might fit the bill instead of a much pricier printer I've been looking at
@@JonoSmithTattoo is it ok to use this kind of thermal paper to make stencil? Which i've order online? Sorry my man, i dont know anything about it yet but i will start to practice tattooing at home.
it is important to point out that the printer needs to be new and unused att all so there is no regular ink in it. thanks the video i have been thinking of getting this also =)
@Paye ta Disquette it needs to be a dedicated printer for you stencils only. the stencil ink is safe for the skin and to tattoo over....but regular ink you would use other ways would be toxic for your customer. satay safe and best of luck.
You can actually use regular paper with these stencils but it tends to be too thick for large designs. I’m using stencil paper in this video. Thanks for watching!
Hello. I assume you say to thick for large designs as it is more difficult to let it flat to follow the body curves? Nothing to do with the printing itself? Thks

It works till it doesn’t. Our shop has replaced two printers. The ink dries up on the printer heads. Big bummer. Also all the purple on the skin leads to a poor stencil in the end. There are plenty artists using them. My advice is keep it running. We still have a 3m machine so the printer didn’t get used frequently. Leading to dried up printer heads.

Maybe you are right, but don't judge a book by its cover, think about this, you need to know how many pieces of stencil could a bottle of 4 oz ink print, plus how much is one piece of stencil paper, when you get the average cost, it might be cheaper than using thermal paper or hectograph paper, you never know..
When you look at the price of carbon paper and how much actual ink and paper is lost in negative space (left over paper too small to use on other designs), i wouldn’t think in the long run it is more expensive to use a printer.
