    Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR analysis or FTIR Spectroscopy) is an analytical technique used to identify organic, polymeric, and in some cases, inorganic materials.
    During FTIR analysis, an absorbance spectra of the sample is created which provides information about the unique chemical bonds and molecular structure of the material.

    Hi there! Your video is awesome, thank you for sharing!
    I would like to share with you that the platform has no glass. The center point is a diamond ATR crystal, not a glass. It is soldered into the plate resulting in a chemically inert and mechanically rugged sampling area. The diamond will not break like glass. Your accessory is suitable for high pressure on the sample to allow better contact between sample and crystal. Thus, providing great spectrum results!
    PS: However, do not apply high pressure when there is no sample :) Hope that helps!

    • @chemfunman
      @chemfunman  ปีที่แล้ว

      possible, provided that the acid is not too concentrated such that it corrodes the device.

    why kbr use for making solid sample

    • @adamfaithfully
      @adamfaithfully 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      KBr is pretty much invisible in the IR range. It doesn't have any vibrational modes that correspond to IR wavelengths. Some other samples can interact so strongly (i.e. absorb) with some wavelengths that you end up with a saturated peak in the spectrum or burn your sample. Burning your sample or having a saturated peak makes proper quantitative analysis impossible. Because KBr doesn't interact with the IR radiation, it is an ideal matrix to dilute samples that do interact too strongly.

    What is the possible cause of red light in ftir instrument. is there moisture which create such type of problem.. If yes then how can we remove moisture from the FTIR instrument...
