Nice video. Like Ratty in Wind in Willows....nothing so worth doing as messaing about in boats on the river. Morning mist a nice touch. Battling tide - very english dinghy cruising.
Thanks mate. As I normally sail on lakes or inland waterways, not used to tidal flows and the lack of wind didn't help. Thanks again for watching, cheers Paul
I have an relative buried at Bar Island from those times. Nice video as always mate. Also watch out for sandflies at Twin Beaches! Real buggers of things.
Yep it's a great idea just don't blow it up too hard. It fits exactly between the mizzen and the mast and it has a dual purpose. What more could you ask for? Thanks for watching, cheers Paul
Hi Rob, I agree totally. The best part is Ric didn't fall off. After a few more goes he will get the right amount of inflation for a comfy night. Thanks again for watching and see you on the Sand isles hopefully before Christmas, cheers Paul
As always, awesome video Paul. Since Thanksgiving is coming up in a few days in the U.S.A two things you should be grateful for living in a beautiful country like Australia and a wonderful group of fellow sailors to spend quality time with. Keep the videos coming a warm hello from Miami Florida. By the way Rick's paddleboard bed was both interesting and hilarious.
I actually know the area. Some years back a few of us wooden boaters had a weekend EBS (elbow bending session) on a blokes cabin cruiser down that way. Absolutely loved it.
Hi yes, both wind and less current make downstream from Brooklyn better, that's also where I normally go. But on that day the Parsley bay boat ramp was closed as they were loading barges to do test drilling for the high speed train crossing. I don't know if it's a tunnel or bridge. Thanks for watching, cheers Paul
Definitely the best dinghy cruising channel. Always very informative and love all the modifications you guys do to your lovely boats. I own a shipmate 16 day boat. Love dinghy cruising 😊
Thanks so much and please send me a photo of your boat to sailingkatelouise@gmail.com so I can include it next time I feature viewer's boats.( and where you are in the world), cheers Paul
Lovely Paul. Please take this as a compliment, some scenes you did reminded me of the "Last of Us", video game. Music etc fitted so well. Great to watch! Made me miss the sun too, its snowing in the UK today!!!
Thanks Dave, sorry I'm not a gamer so I'm not familiar with Last of us. Sometimes here on 40c days (which is only 4/5 times a year in Sydney) snow would be great. Thanks again for watching and leaving a comment, cheers Paul
@@SailingKateLouise No problem. I meant to say just got very cinematic and almost movie like at times! Really lovely to watch. I will send some of our snow over to you if you send some sun back to us!!
Thanks paul that shot of the hills thru the midt was just breath taking and on an other note my all time favorite commercial was.Fosyers it's not just for breakfast any more.
Thanks for watching, I was just trying to make the most of the beautiful scenery. Did you mean Fosters beer? Even though it's Australian and sold all around the world, you don't get it much in our pubs, cheers Paul
Hi Paul! thanks for another great video that makes me 'sail' while I don't build my Pocketship (not to long). Small world, Chris was in contact with Teo, the guy from The Boat Rambler channel, whom doesn't live too far from me. The Boat Rambler it's another sailling channel I subscribe, so I can 'sail' around Mar da Palha bay (South shore of Tejo river facing Lisbon). Fair winds!
Hi Alex , well small world. Chris had a tight schedule so couldn't meet up with Teo . But now he has a second person to sail with or maybe me. I've also got Portuguese blood, never been there but one day. Thanks for watching , cheers Paul
Glad you enjoyed it Mick. There is so much history around the lower Hawkesbury, thanks for watching and if you get a chance check out my other videos, cheers Paul
Current stronger than the wind. That was my situation yesterday. Full sails plus sculling and barely making a knot. It was still a beautiful day out on the water. ⛵️
If you had of travelled down a bit further from the Coba shacks down the Berowra inlet , at the end of the first long straight from the shacks there is a nice little sandy beach on the starboard side right at the start of the first dogleg . Normally has a nice washup of firewood on the beach too , oysters on the rocks , and plenty of room for 3 boats.
Thanks mate, I had completely forgotten about that beach. I have stopped there before when kayaking years ago from Berowra. Thanks for reminding me, cheers Paul
As typical you cook an inspiring healthy meal like few other youtube sailors. Also as typical you are let down by the wind forecast. I've mostly been lucky to sail in geographies that at least create sunny afternoon sea breezes, even on lakes. Judging by my tour on Hawkesbury Mail Boat you don't seem to have geography that would pull becalmed winds in one way or the other.
I just got a new dinghy that's older than I am. I need to do a few things to it to get it ready for some winter crushing with my dog. I may not be in AU cruising with you all but Im bring a part of AU with me. My dog is an Australia cattle dog named Sheila.
Thanks Robert. I would love to see a photo of Sheila on your boat ( sailingkatelouise@gmail.com) and let me know where you are in the world, cheers Paul
Unfortunately I never got Continental( makers of Deb) to send me any.....and all that free advertising. Actually we are coming into summer so not really deb weather. Thanks again for watching and leaving a comment, cheers Paul
Hi Paul, I have often seen you being towed. Is your current electric out board not fit for purpose, or what are your concerns re the Emotor. I do enjoy your channel so thank you. Maybe some pros & cons compared to a 5hp outboard.
Hi Paul, my 2x12v batteries are 4 years old and are meant to be good for 12 years. However they are only really charging to 80% and I don't want to run them down below 50% ( they are agm not Lithium). So that will only give me 1hr at 3knots and maybe 4 at 2knots which sounds a lot but over 3 or 4 days it isn't. I have never run them done below 50% so when a tow is offered it's prudent to accept. I still haven't got solar and that would help to keep the charge up, but I only have room for a small panel while sailing, and a large blanket is not practical while sailing. The pros for electric are they are light to lift in and out if you can't tilt and the cons as above. Petrol outboards if serviced, are capable of greater distances and speed in strong currents but are noisy and heavy. I try to use my electric only to get in and out from jetties and moorings but not really for going long distances.....unlike petrol I can't top up if they go flat. I hope this helps and thanks for watching, cheers Paul
It again is a nice video about the fun you have "down under". It's almost winter here. Not must sailing. But do you still like photo's of viewers boats? To which address can I send a photo if you still want them?
Following the abysmal recent elections here in the States, Sailing Kate Louise is my mental health break between reports of the demise of western civilization. Thank you!
Oh what can I say. I watched in total disbelief here. Apparently we don't talk about the next 4 years but how much better it will be in the following 4 years .....good luck. More than happy to supply some mental relief, cheers Paul

Another great dinghy cruise with your friends.
Thanks again for watching, we're off to Myall Lakes at the weekend, hopefully the weather will be a bit better this time, cheers Paul
