The roland has a far richer sound.
Seems like Softubes Model 82 is much closer to the real SH-101 than Behringer. The Starsky Carr comparison for that one whos that it is almost spot on.
I am only keeping mine because it’s the rare version that is branded “MS-101”. I have not powered it on in months. Pretty boring mono.
The Mkii sounds very different to the earlier Behringers to my ears
@@mattbrown-mb a more precise replication of the SH101 since Coolaudio did a BA662 chip clone. It's even less noisy than the OG. This means that instead of using OPAmps to emulate the BA662 implementation (which is practically several paired transistors inside) they could now be closer on the envelopes and the filter.
I would love to see the envelope plotted on this new one. Some old videos showed the MS1 Mk1 envelopes as linear, some showed it as exponential like the OG SH101.
You're not a very good reviewer, you have no idea what you are talking about. The note priority acts the same as the original SH-101. Please stop reviewing, you are doing no one any favours with your misinformation. A shame.
LMAOOO
You have no idea what the SH-101 can do. 😂 The MS-1 MKI or MKII, can't do sooooo many things the SH-101 can, but you wouldn't know because you don't know what to look for.
The way you review you seem quite unaware. For anyone new to the SH-101. Go check out Mathew Johnsons videos. There you will see at least a dozen things the MS-1 mkii cannot do. And there are a couple more SH-101 videos out there that will TRULY show you what the sh-101 can do, and the MS-1 cannot.
This reviewer seems to think comparing single tones is a comparison. 😂
Which features or abilities?
The review description literally says he's trying to demonstrate the sound comparison, not the features.
@@Stereo_type1982 My question was about this comment: “The MS-1 MKI or MKII, can't do sooooo many things the SH-101 can”.
Explain please. What cant mkii do? Other than 100 note seq.
Not talking about tubitec firmware but OG.
There are at least 2 variants of SH101. One with lots of bg noise and unstable ground level. One with better ground level and a bit less bg noise. B MKii got better opamps and better BA662 wrt noise.
