Last winter I made a Monday sweater (petite knit) with all my odd leftover mohairs. I really love how it turned out and won't stop wearing it. My colours were mostly pastel tones and I decided to hold them with a cream white fingering yarn. Made the collar and the cuffs one mohair colour, the yoke/ raglan one colour until it ran out, then the body one colour and one of my colours for both the sleeves. Somehow worked out perfectly, only had like 2 grams of one colour and 8 grams of another one left, everything else completely used up. Somehow, I always set myself up for a game of yarn chicken, love the thrill of it and some strategic planning to make it work out somehow.
Re odd single skeins: Baby cardigans? They are always appreciated as gifts and they look so cute. They are a pleasure to knit. Also, little girls love cardys for their dolls.
for the small amounts of mohair, how about using a neutral colour as a base yarn, white, black, or grey, and hold the mohairs with it to make sth stripey? hat, scarf?
I've definitely considered this as an option. However I would rather not have to buy more yarn in order to make something and I don't know if I have enough of a base colour yarn 🧶
@@karlijnscorner oh, i totally understand that! also only after posting the comment did i notice that the video itself is from 9 months ago - sorry about that! i'm watching through your series right now and interested in seeing what you're doing and how you're managing the different projects with varying limited quantities of yarn! :D
You could always use up your mohair scraps by knitting them up as a second strand with fingering weight sock yarn to make DK socks :) I‘ve been doing that a lot lately and I looove it!
your yarn stash looks very under control in my opinion! you have a plan for almost everything which is v good. mine is just insane rn and I'm trying to knit from it too this year and not buy new yarn or patterns. For the mohair: i don't know if it's your style but the Curio Collar by Lydia Morrow could be a fun make!
Oohh a fun project indeed! My yarn stash has definitely been worse ( I've been trying to de-stash for a while now aha) but I would love to get to a point where I see a pattern and could get the yarn for it and have a very minimal stash
I'm in a de-stash mission of my own! Just today I packed all the yarn I have intended for projects into gallon-sized ziplocs, and there are way too many baggies of projects 🙈🙈 I fully intend on knitting from my project pile rather than acquire yarn for new projects!
Well at least everything sounds very organized! I think it helps a ton when you know what you are doing with the yarn as well 😁 sounds like you are on a great path to destashing!
The mohair could also be used for a stunning spot sweater by Anne ventzel :-) either look to see if you have similar left overs in merino or sock yarn to hold with the mohair or buy some :-) since the color match so nicely it would be stunning for the spot shifting either from light to dark or vice versa :-) you could use one of the beige mohair skeins with it too
Hi!! I'm not sure which one you mean but all patterns and yarn mentioned in the video are linked in the description with time stamps so you should be able to find it there!
I’m also trying to use up stash this year because I just have too much yarn, but still like most of it 😂 I hope we both make it! Also, my cat loves a luxury blanket. Maybe use the mohair for that?
Haha let's do this together!! One of my cats has a bad hair pulling habit so I don't think I want to risk that unfortunately, but that would be really cute!
Nooo cat is not annoying! Cat awesome! Cat makes video better 😻

I definitely feel you on the yarn chicken aha. Your sweater sounds awesome I'll keep it in mind!

You could use your one skein mohair for a striped sweater.
The Djo Sweater is a colorwork sweater thats intended to use up mohair scraps
Oeh haven't heard of this one yet! Thanks for the suggestion I'll have to take a look ☺️❤️

Yes, mohair socks have definitely been on my radar too!
Ill also be joining you on the knit from stash journey! Already looking forward to the next video
Exciting!

Love your enthusiasm and I am here for the journey ❤
Yay! Thank you!

Omg yes! I can't believe I didn't think of this before. That sweater has been on my wishlist for ages!
Ooo, what you call “just some basic socks” look stunning! What stitch is used in the brown/blue + white pair?

Also doing this but I've got 540 50g skeins 😅🙈

De spot sweater staat idd ook al heel lang op mijn lijstje! Misschien toch maar is aan beginnen

Iemand anders noemde het inderdaad, alles zou nu weer moeten werken!
Hey, just wanted to let you know that the links in the description to your shops and socials are broken.
Oh thanks for letting me know!! I'll get on that asap 🥰
Should be working again!
Do not use 100 % Merino yarn for socks, you will have holes with on 3 days.
Yeah that's what I was afraid of too. I will probably make a hat with it then!
Also doing this but I've got 540 50g skeins 😅🙈
Haha we're in this together 🤝🏻
