When I worked in trucking, I lived in my car. On cold nights the rain warmed me. I don't know how many times I've heard the soothing sound of rain in the car. I didn't realize I'd miss it. I use to fall asleep to this sound when I was homeless living out of my van. I had nowhere to go. The rain hitting the car was very soothing for me, on a strange level. I thought I was confined and hopeless. I'm still working hard to achieve financial stability. I will fall asleep to this tonight, in my bed, as a reminder of where I was one year ago.

Used to have a old wall unit in my parents bedroom. I remember at nights when it would storm bad I would stay with my mom while my dad was out of town. We’d get snacks and sit and listen to the rain hit that old a/c in between storms over the police scanner or whatever was on tv at the time. Looking back on it I didn’t have much as a kid but I had more than I ever could’ve asked for all at the same time. Those are precious memories

TIP: fast forward video until there is about 30min-1hour left(however long it takes you to fall asleep). Turn off auto play, turn brightness down and hit play. Once that 30min is up you will hopefully have fell asleep and the video will be done. Since the video is done the screen will automatically turn off and you won't have to worry about having your phone on all night or it getting hot. Like this comment so everyone can see it! I have Major Depression, Anxiety, ADHD, and Borderline Personality Disorder. My mental illnesses are so severe that I'm getting a service dog. As I wait for that it's hard to relax and sleep. Medicine and therapy is not enough sometimes. The instant I heard the rain against the car I felt my body completely relax which I haven't felt in ages! I am so thankful. I always feel so sad due to events in my life, but for some reason i rarely cry.

But then today she told me she is talking to another guy while she was talking to me at the same time, kinda messed up in my opinion. Almost like she was keeping me on a leash, and using me as a back up plan if things didn’t go right,

This brings back memories of falling asleep in the car when I was little...the warmth of the heater on my legs....the low murmurs of my parents in the front seat...the windshield wipers....lights wavering in the mist on the window....and we're home.....and I pretend to still be asleep so my dad will carry me into the house....

It's 12:00 AM while I'm typing this but for the past 13 minutes I've been having a mental breakdown after my grandma was admitted to the hospital.

God all you people sound so lovely. Hearing your stories and words through the comments. Reminds me of nights in the Midwest driving out to my uncle's cabin up north. The rain that would pitter patter during the 6 hour drive. Or... Driving to my grandparents old place down South. Man I miss both those places.
