I can't watch the video at work but I'm watching this when I get home no cap. Prayers dude I hope you become successful one day you deserve it man your a legend.
@@DrBizz Hell yeah, and later down the line Halo Reach, Halo 4, and Halo 2: Anniversary Multiplayer (which is basically just Halo 4 slightly modified) will be getting their tools released as well. Even though 343 didn't explicitly say so, the Halo 2 and 3 tools should (again no date was officially stated in the blog) be released with this next update which will probably drop in October. They showed two screenshots, one of each game's tools. That (usually) means they're ready to go, similar to how Halo 1's MCC mod tools were hyped up.
I just wanted to add some follow up info...I went outside this matching BSP on Sacred Icon and the platform in the void is NOT there. So it's unique to High Charity and only seen here.
A few things to note from what i've noticed, this section had even more jackal and brute bodies laying around(some are not visible in the video), i assume this part would be be more overrun by flood aside from the chamber room as it looked more clean so perhaps a similar setting to what we got. There are flood spawns in the first area of the original level that are placed on the bridge above you, likely to spawn out of the second pelican passing by. There is also a spawn for a sniper jackal in the bugger room on the other side as well as other things. Most interesting for me are the unused lines from cortana including some from the warthog run that got scrapped. Also the ai encounter stops at e12 , but in script it goes into e14 and higher.
Some examples . Cortana voice lines : If it makes you feel any better, I'm locking the doors behind you. Should keep some of the Flood off your back The Grunts seem to be neutral, or, at least afraid to announce which side they support. Except for Truth, the Prophets aren't saying a word . The Jackals and the Drones have declared themselves the servants of the Brutes. The Hunters have have sworn allegiance to the Elites Flood spores have contaminated the city's life-support infrastructure - the filtration systems are overloading She also mentions that biomass is quickly building throughout high charity, one part during the infected location or close by where the buggers fly though the window on the side has her telling you that she needs time to open a lock, sounds wave based judging by all the lines. I also noticed that there was supposed to be a key that would spawn in the level judging by the script. This level would probably be much longer originally as there are tons of things being cut. Sorry for the long comment but i guess some people might be interested in reading this.
@@zippo71111 No prob at all, thanks for sharing this awesome research. Yeah, I remember looking at the game scripts too and seeing the extra Cortana lines. SO much got cut from this game. Bungie could finish everything they wanted to do in a new build of the game and we would all pay $60 again to see it complete how they originally planned.
@@DrBizz The part i mentioned with cortana unlocking the doors and reassuring you she's almost done is probably part of the chamber room(with the floating pillars). My guess is that the door would be locked and enemies of flood would spawn from the sides, because originally the room looked more like an arena as the original version did go by quite fast. Or perhaps the other version of that room that you covered in this video had that script.
Super interesting stuff again, thanks for sharing! Super weird that we technically go through those same rooms but "infected" by the Flood later in that same mission, I really wonder why there's this "clean" version here. Maybe that was used for reference and they forgot to remove it?
Definitely, yeah I don't think this is very well known that this BSP is hiding in the map files. My best guess like I said is that the devs started to place objects and plan for it's use, but scrapped the idea for one reason for another and rebuilt the area in the different layout we normally see. The volume trigger to load out of this area was interesting, it's not scripted in the game but the option was in the game files if that makes sense.
Perhaps the center room was a weapons room before loading up on the warthog run. No other reason I can think of for laying weapons out on the ground like that. Halo 1's warthog run started off similar.
Good point, yeah it's odd how the weapons are there. Nothing I did was added manually, when I make the game load a different BSP like this I'm only forcing the game to load it "as is" so this is where Bungie left it developmentally speaking.
Hahaha. Well, I'm having fun. How about that gravity throne barrier break huh? That shit is really fun to mess around with. The normal speed of it is 1.5 and if you change it to 50-100 it's INSANE.
This is odd. I wonder if it takes the same positional space as the real BSP, because based on where you start it looks like it would be a mirrored version of the final product.
It's a different layout entirely, but I can look to see the coordinates and if they give a clue where it would continue from the normal level. High Charity is interesting, often you are teleported AND the map changes when you hit a load zone.
@@DrBizz Oh it is. Even the original warthog run is visible with anniversary graphics. Must be a fairly seemless teleportation then, makes sense tho, some of the halo 2 maps are so massive I'd question whether or not they begin to test floating point error (Quarantine Zone's Gondola ride room, for example) The original team really made use of everything they could within the available boundaries.
@@gerryperez2931 Yeah, the transitions when the structure BSP changes and you get teleported to a new X,Y,Z coordinate happen perfectly without any problems. It's pretty instantaneous.
Haha. People mention this all the time, I think it takes luck and circumstance to get tons of views but my videos have gotten a better following over time. I think if my channel got big enough to monetize I would see a huge spike in views right after I did it. I have fun regardless.
@DrBizz hey i dont remember what the exact video was but you had this halo 2 video on the great journey. One of the songs you had in the background was by Joe Satriani and I just wanted to thank you for inadvertently introducing me to his music👌
Imagine how pissed off Bungie must have been as they obviously wanted to expand on these levels, until Micro$oft rushed/forced them because of BS pre-Christmas sales. Any reason why you play on Easy mode?
Indeed. A lot of cool things got cut and these poor guys got crunched. Haha, I don't know, just habit I guess. When you are invincible using mods it doesn't matter.
@@DrBizz Yeah, that's what I thought. Might be extra dead enemies and such on Legendary rather than Pussy mode. Might even find the odd skull floating about, though skulls need certain triggers to load them, not sure if all of them load this way?
@@slobsky7237 Interesting thought. I don't see any differences with this area on Legendary. Yes, the skulls have certain triggers that load them and this area has zero active triggers once you are in here. I know there is at least that volume trigger to change the load zone, but it's not scripted to load. You could try and rebuild the area to function as intended but that would be a shitload of work and a scripting nightmare.
@@slobsky7237 Thanks. I'm having fun at least. There is a lot about scripting I don't understand, it's not very approachable to teach yourself and make successful changes easily.

Thanks. It's all good, I've enjoyed the journey exploring the game even if I don't get tons of views.
In anniversary graphics, if you noclip around, there are geometry elements found in that room are present and texture less floating around.
Interesting. Yeah I actually don't mod MCC so I don't have a reference besides playing the original game.
The secret room at 2:48 is from the cinematic before the mission Heretic where Regret gives the Arbiter the mission to hunt down the Heretic leader.
In a related note, official mod tools are coming for Halo 2 and Halo 3 in the MCC.
@TrickerAgainstDaOdds What could you possibly be confused about?
Wow that's crazy, holy shit.
