It's funny because the ETA technical data sheets tell you to remove the stem in the winding position which is the way I've always done it and it's about a 50% success rate. And everyone else says time setting position. I've never tried the time setting but im going to try it next time for sure .
I made exactly the mistake you described and used tweezers to push the stem release button. I cannot re insert the stem into the movement. Is there any way at all to fix this?
Hello, I saw your video AFTER doing exactly the mistake you clearly show...Too bad...My movement is the ETA 2836-2, but the concept is equivalent. Now I cannot re-engage the stem fully, it stops at the second position ( change of date and day ), and, once in this position, no way to engage the stem fully ( for winding position ), or take it a bit out ( for setting the time ), it remains blocked ! ! ! Is there any way, please, you could indicate how to correct this ? Thank you in advance ! You learnt me something I ignored after taking out a few hundred stems in my life without a problem....
VERY VERY Helpful. I never knew that a screwdriver of 1-1.2mm MUST be used to remove the stem. Thank you :-)
Very helpful info. Never knew that it could actually cause damage
I'm surprised by how seldom it is mentioned as well!
Please make a video on how to reset the Keyless works ?
Great video! could you guys do one of dial installation on these movements? I'm thinking of "graduating" from the NHseries to Sellita/ETA/ST/PT
Thank you! This will be very important for the future!
A mistake many noobs make with this movement. From my joking perspective, it's a right of passage for all noobs. Consider yourself initiated.
Very helpful, thank you.
It helped me a lot. Thank you.
Welcome!

Same for the pt5000. Thanks.

Nice one thanks 😊
Gracias.

This works for all 2800 ETA series

fixable but you have to disassemble and reassemble the keyless work
@@DIYWatchClub Ahh okay. A problem for future me then. Just bought a new movement 🥲

You need to reassemble the keyless works. The setting lever will be out of place.
@@TomRaine sorry but this method is good for all keyless works or just ETA mov?
Did the exact same thing on my watch. Plan was just to glue one index. But now i got more work on my hands! 😅
Thanks!
Glad it helps!
Too late. I already mess with winding stem.
Dont show us what not to do 1st
