"Hunchback of notre dame" I know is no ones favorite but Esmeralda is Romani! And even though the way the represent us is actually quiete racist, as a little romani girl it was super important for me to somehow be in a Disney movie. And the music is amazing
I actually loved that movie. I used to run around yelling "Sanctuary. Sanctuary" The type of evil it portrayed actually freaked me out. And Esmeralda was no "Save me" type of girl, she fought back.

Yes!!!! She is awesome and she was an important reference for me growing up...kids would say racist things to me at school and I'd be like : "well, I am a flesh and blod Esmeralda, so top that !" . I still watch it often. And even though the portrayal of romani people is really stereotypical (I mean they use usse g word) , the evil portrayed is mainly racism, so .... a very mature movie in my opinion

First of all, the 90s were lit for Disney...The Lion King, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Pocahontas (although historically inaccurate because they didn’t know how to romanticize colonialism and small pox), Mulan...we had all them joints on vhs! Lol but my fave has to be The Lion King s/o to Nikki
The casting is so good on this one! Also love Alfre Woodward as Sarabi, Seth Rogen as Pumba and Keegan-Michael Key as 1 of the hyena's! They all feel spot on. Only one I'm not too excited about is Chiwetel Eijofor as Scar. He kind of looks like a younger James Earl Jones which means he looks more like Mufasa. I think Mahershala Ali would have been the perfect Scar. He's got that sleekness Scar has and he can be charming while also being villainous. That would have made the movie perfect in my opinion.
