I was in Tokyo last week, in Shinjuku to be more precise, and a guy approached me while I was in a corner of the street. He tried to talk to me in japanese, I mentioned that I'm not a speaker and then he used translator to offer me to go to "have some fun with girls". I disregarded his invite politely and he didin't tried to push. He just apologized and follow his way. So crazy to see that this is a common scam there.
As a frequent traveler to Japan (5 timesn now) i would say Kabukicho in general is fairly safe compared to a lot of countries. There are indeed things to watch out for, like the touts. They will try to interact with you, what ever you do, just dont aknowledge them. dont interact what so ever. Its usually the bars touts bring you to where you get drugged. Also by my experience 100% have been black people trying to tout me, though i've seen a japanese person do it, though not towards me so dosnt count. Though by all my times in Kabukicho this year was the first time i was warned by my bartender friends to watch out for pickpockets as its been a spike of cases of pickpocking, so keep your valuables hard to reach, i usually use cargo pants and trying to reach my knee pockets its fairly hard.
ikr, best thing i heard was a case of crazy australian that wanted to tempt fait, he left all his belonging inn his hotel and found one of the touts claiming it was only 1000 yen for all you can drink, he did, got drugged, only had a 1000 yen on him LOL woke up back at his hotel. I would say i would never recommend doing this at all, this can go so sideways.
@@VIVIDvlog i mean would be hard to pull off as you would need a pretty well hidden small camera, and lighting would be an issue, though you would have most of the dialouge not to mention it would be dangerous. probably would wanna stream it to a hardrive directly so they cant eraze anything
I had an older Japanese guy come up to me late last night in Ebisu, I just came out of a matsuya. Streets were dead, he came out of nowhere and I said nihongo dekimasen, but he still said "girls bar" and wanted me to follow him. I said im okay and kept walking. I was surprised he wanted people like me in there, I would have been in trouble.
In January had the same thing in Shinjuku but I looked man's dead in eye and asked "where hamburger stake" I was hungry man walked me down the road and showed me
@@VIVIDvlog think most of them have moved to Kabukicho, as my friend who works in Roppingi recognized one when we where walking the streets, and they greeted like friends.
Greetings from Canada, I enjoyed your video. I'll be in tokyo in january. Do you have any club tips on where to go? Are there any club events happening?🍻
tbh feels like the clubs in general more or less have events every day, one way or another. Sometimes rented out to different venues clubs or parties. This would also depends on where you wanna go, are you sticking around close to shinjuku or Shibuya, or used to taking taxi / walking home at night or staying out all night as well. Not a clubing person my self but would help others who wanna help
Loads of events happening every day of the week. But weekend's tend to be the busiest. Check out tokyo night owl 's website for a list of the top events of the week if you need help finding parties.
Unfortunally a lot of tourists dont do any research what so ever before they travel, thats why this still works. Also why a lot of tourits are screaming over Otoshi, or being annoying when not every japanese speak english.
uhm, yes, kabukicho is an area of district of Shinjuku, if you're talking about Shinjuku isnt just kabukicho, yeah i agree, it has lots of big areas with only offices, resturants, shopping, it has a lot more to offer then Kabukicho. Though party central in Shinjuku is... Kabikucho, which he is speaking about
What a real job! I really like and enjoy your job!
lol thanks!? 🤣
Have you experienced a scam in Tokyo? Or have any questions about them, drop them in them in the comments. ✅

it is, though im suprised it was a japanese dude, i've never experienced that during my many trips.
Sometimes I get this from really old dudes in Shinjuku. They are usually by themselves in an alley from my experience.

Yea that is true, basically safe but I have heard about the pick pocketing. Never happened to me or my friends yet but I've heard stories.
@@VIVIDvlog havent heard about direct cases myself, only warned by my friends in Golden gai
A fool and their money are easily parted.
I've never heard of anyone with some street smarts getting ripped off in Kabukicho.

In Ebisu? Thats bizzarre
thats odd, was in Ebisu myself last week, it seemed such a quite neighbourhood.
Good video. I didn’t run into it last time I was there but back in 2013 the Nigerians in Roppongi were relentless!
Thanks for watching! Roppongi is a bit less these days I feel.
Yeah those blacks are annoying there. Who goes to Japan to meet some black scammer built places? Nobody.

Love the hat bro
Thanks! May drop the merch soon

-African touts
-Bars that drug you and steal your credit card
-Japanese pubs that overcharge you (check your receipts)
Just don't go to Shinjuku or Roppongi at night. There are so many safe fun places to go without going there.
Shinjuku is safe at night, just dont be naiv and your fine.
😓 Tokyo is also have dark side the same with other countries

By "foreigners", he really means Aftican touts, unfortunately.
Not exactly , I explain in the video
Don’t trust anyone even they are looking promising in the video.

@@deaddrunkgamer7399 haha thanks drunk gamer 😍
Especially a black guy?
99% of the touts as far as i've noticed are black unfortanly, giving "normal" black guys in the country specially in the area a pretty bad rep
