So this matchup was PRETTY INTENSE during playtesting. While Etemon/Sukamon has had more sets of dedicated support (compared to the new Leomon deck that isn't super compatible with past support), HeavyLeomon sort of counters the monkey's shenanigans. For example, the likes of Grap and HeavyLeo easily bounce Suka swarms to deckbottom to inhibit their [On Delete] effects and trash accumulation, while Loader can chip in when necessary to burn any spare Chuus left behind. In addition, because EX5 MetalEtemon's [On Play/Evo] deletion is compulsory, its ultimate combo can be disrupted by Leomon's easy access to [On Delete] . When this happens, all they get to keep is the forced attack which has its effectiveness more than halved due to the negation of EX5 Etemon's inheritable and MetalEte's [Opponent's Turn]. Despite all this, MetalEtemon can still absolutely crush Leomon without a sweat if they have a decent hand and board state. Ultimately, the win rate during my several days of playtesting came very close to 50/50. So while I was initially expecting MetalEtemon to win with their new support, by Day 2/3 I was no longer sure who would actually proceed to the semifinals. I gotta say though, I'm a bit conflicted about the outcome of this match. On one hand, I am genuinely happy that Etemon/Sukamon have finally made it past the first round in one of my tournaments. But. BUT. After playtesting the Leomon deck, it has REALLY GROWN ON ME. I definitely still like Etemon more, but Indomitable tribal Leomon is shaping up to be 1 of my favourite decks. Looking forward to what new support they may get in the future. But to start, can we please get a 'Fist of the Beast King' that ignores colour restrictions if you have a Digimon with 'Leomon' in its name.
@@rustmarrow I feel like that is inconsistent I mean only beelzemon?! What's the point of being a leomon and beelzemon option card if it needs only beelzemon to ignore colors that makes no sense
SO happy to see the Chuumon, Sukamon and Etemon side finally get a win. I was always kinda turned off by BT-14 Etemon being mono Yellow but this new MetalEtemon allowing it to be stacked into Security makes that uncertainty vanish.
I'm very excited about this tournment, particularly to see Fanglongmon and Gracenovamon decks. Digimon world dawn being one of the Digimon games I played the most, I gotta full heartdly support Gracenova!
FINALLY my guy Etemon/Sukamon gets a win! I am still trying to eek out draws at my locals with the BT13 version and I just can't wait for a chance to actually be able to play to win. 😂
It's great seeing all this love/support for my main man, Etemon. When I first heard of this deck's concept of "turn everything into poop," it intrigued me. After watching several gameplays of other decks, and of course, videos with Suka-Ete, I finally understand how good the monkey poo deck really is
Oh thank goodness. When I saw the tournament prologue, I was worried for a second that Etemon had gotten cut. Should've known I was telling myself crazy talk. And good thing too, because what a performance from the superstar we would've missed. That SR MetalEtamon is brutal and I'm glad we'll see more of it. Looking at the rest of our match-ups; I've little doubt Melga X will beat Leopardmon X, but a part of me is still rooting for the underdog there anyways. Similar story with Leviamon vs the Sovereigns; much as I hope to see more of the envious Demon Lord, I'm not sure of it's chances against Fanglongmon unless he gets a few good shots in against the ACE Sovereigns first. (Although it probably still has better chances than Leopardmon X does.) GraceNovamon vs Mitamamon I don't actually know enough about either deck to judge; but I'm definitely rooting for GraceNovamon. (Maybe if I see enough of it, I'll finally learn if it's DNA condition effect triggers On Attack. If it does, it may be a fun tech in Imperialdramon.)
As one famous primate once said, "Well thats just prime..." Dang... That last turn from Etamon wouldve been REALLY different if Leomon was running Kongou and or Ultimate Flare. Oh well...
nice match!! Yanno, seeing that Davis - a blue Tamer - made me think that was a tech choice to use Fist of the Beast King. Maaaaan, it's really a shame how much this new support doesn't work with the old one. I'm really hoping for a Blue Frimon sometime, and Blue/Green cards to go with these new ones
I did consider that! But Davis was mainly inspiration from the few local-topping Leo lists I've seen so far. Not maximum synergy, but the search can come in really clutch early game when you're looking for that perfect next Leo since their effects vary
I wasn’t expecting to come into this rooting for Leomon. But the Leomon’s deck’s music was sooooooo good man! Rearise and Savers are such a good combination. I don’t particularly like the deck, but I’m sad to see it lose cause we can’t listen to that combo again (unless Mitamamon👀). Also, at 11:12 you missed Loader’s on play
Surprising that you went with MetalGaruru X instead of Anubismon since MetalGaruru is receiving even more support in BT15 that you could showcase later on.
He is the flagship Digimon of this set after all, so I thought I ought to showcase him! And there's a possibility I might not enter him into the BT15 tournament like Greymon, especially if there are many other interesting decks to play
@@rustmarrow Understandable. I just thought it would be a better opportunity to showcase Anubismon here as Garuru gets a another spot to be showcased later on while Anubis won't for a while most likely.
ETEMON SWEEP LET'S GO For real, glad he's finally getting his time in the sun. Been loyal since BT11. It's time... I normally pulled my usually rec of EX4 Tsunomon over Pagumpn for the egg, but given how close MetalEtemon was to decking out maybe that's a bit too much 😂
@@rustmarrow Tsunomon is just the correct egg. It draws an unreal amount of cards. Crashing is not the correct play. Your game begins at BT-11 metalete then you start playing
@rustmarrow Can definitely respect that, especially when you still play aggro vs control! The Draw is always better than Pagu's search, though, and if you keep the mon alive and trigger it more than once it's extra value Pagumon will never give you. And you can usually still trigger it turn two, you just have to think carefully about the order of your plays - promote, evo the other Chuumon, crash it into Security. Then again, I still heavily run BT3 Sukamon (which bottom decks rather than trashes on its search) so I'm a little less at risk to running through my deck. Maybe give Tsuno a try some time if you haven't yet, but I can see why you'd still want to run Pagu.
Hey, something that was shown to me recently on TTS, if you hold down right-click while holding cards, it'll push them against the table, so that if you move it towards a 'deck', it will put the cards to the bottom! very useful for a digimon TTS creator! hope it helps!

Also sorry for asking but I wanted to know, (especially since the only other card game I played before digimon was yugioh) the player that draws the last Card in their deck doesn’t immediately lose the match? Or is it that even if they draw their last card they keep going until they lose via security attack? Wanted to ask as I was slightly confused at around the end of the video
Amazing video as always, Rustmarrow, are you interested in playing in locals and/or regionals or maybe nationals? Also, if you were to compete, which deck would you bring? Thanks!
why didn't you use the dp reduction effects on the attacking king sukamon? it would've been stuck in a loop of needing to delete the other sukamon to survive still on 0 dp and eventually forced to die
I think Sukamon should've lost right? That last digivolution would've drawn a card from an empty deck. Maybe I'm misunderstanding, still new to the game here lol... I was rooting for Sukamon, so either way.
As a Heavy Leomon deck user myself, sorry to say, using Flashy Boss Punch is a big mistake. My deck focuses on forcing my opponent to attack during start of Main Phase (with Trident Arm or Laplace's Demon); and redirects the attack to Heavy Leomon (via Loader Leomon inherited effect that gives Blocker or Analogman, as Heavy Leomon is a Lv. 6 Machine type, plus ST15 Taichi for DP boost + 1 draw). To prove my point, I got 2nd place at shop tournament with this build.
