  • This scene nearly made me scream from hype at the cinema, when it went to this perspective, because it really reminded me of Hotline Miami. Hence why i decided to share it.

One of the most brilliant scenes put on film in years. The creators of the film claim that they have not heard of the game, but they do not want to admit where they got their inspiration from.
They are forgiven because the film is a breath of fresh air from the rest of the rubbish that has been hitting theaters lately.

i feel like so much of john wick is inspired by video games tbh, which is really cool, because it's like how a video game movie *should be* they're not restricted by having to include specific characters or scenes, they can just take spiritual inspiration and make their own thing. the hitman series, some metal gear solid (john wick is def a student of the boss school of cqc), and yeah, definitely hotline miami here. i feel like some of the people involved with the shoot must have at least been familiar with the game, because this scene is so extremely evocative of the game while also like, being somehow a faithful "live-action" version of the game. even the dragon's breath rounds give the feel of the graphics from the game. just so...*chefs kiss*

Love this video although I feel like fans of Hotline Miami and John wick don’t realize that both franchise’s ARE IN THE SAME UNIVERSE!!!!
Its all linked through Payday 2 (of all games), John wick is a character and has several levels based on his actions outside of the movies in Payday 2. Can you guess who else is in PD2? The legendary “Jacket” from Hotline Miami. It goes beyond a cameo for either character because both have references to their lore in the movies/game’s consistently.
I have a mad theory about how the ending events of HM2 is what built the world that john wick lives in of groups of psycho badasses taking out massive gangs by themselves.
