Such a FUN video!! I've wondered about mountain turbulence for you (us mountain flying, fixed wing guys fear it). Don't get "burbbelized" 😆 This is one of my very favorite videos; as you talk about your Freedom machine, what a joy she's been and many of the things you've done with her! I LOVE the stories! (It would be a KILLER commercial for Robinson! You actually, completely, changed my perception of them!) Nicely done!
Wow, Thank you! And I'm especially glad you enjoyed this one as I've got a lot more to talk about and share on this trip. And so happy to help change your perspective on the Robinson. It's honestly an incredible machine, and the fact that it is actually affordable (relative to other helicopters) means there are a lot of entry level pilots flying them...which unfortunately has led to an unwarranted bad reputation for the machine.
Thanks! Yup, I was budgeting a year, but Robinson says it will be ready for spring to fly it back to Alaska for summer. I've got a Bell 505 in the mean time. When I've done overhauls before, it's just a matter of timing it out and having enough helicopters on the certificate to get the jobs done. Helicopter business is as dynamic as they come...lol.
@@HeliPilotLeigh Hey, thanks for the reply. Since seeing a couple of your videos, I am now tormenting myself. I am seriously considering the MD500. I never considered the 505 until seeing your explanations. Started looking closer. That G1000 would make my life so much easier. But still, I have always like the 500. My time has been in the 206 but not interested in owning one again. My use is only me, occasionally one other, flying mostly in Florida. So... what's your take on the MD500 experiences you've had?
Freedom machine is right! 🚁 ❤

Would you still take an R44 again after flying the Bell 505 for personal use? Thanks for the vids and experience
Yes, I have both! Love both!
Do you still have the 505?
Sure do!
