Wow! Thank you so much. This just happened to my RX 350 this morning. My husband tried to jump start the car and he got confused about placing the jump cables on the batteries and a bit of smoke came off of the connection and he moved the cables and let the car charge but the gas pedal just didn't work properly. Look it up and found your channel and it has really helped.

Had an issue like this in a 2006 rav4. The car was sitting for a while and needed a new alternator and after starting it ran like crap. Did some digging around and found the etcs issue and there wasn't even a fuse in that slot. Weird. Heading to go get new fuses now. Appreciate the video. Short and straight to the point.
@@NoNonsenseKnowHow I have no idea. The car was purchased for my niece, SO put a new fuse in it and see what happens. Start with cheap fixes and hope it works.
Let me tell you! You just saved our asses. Stuck north of Bangor Maine out in the sticks. Got the jump then the guy jumping took off. Go to put the car in gear no freaking throttle.

The shop called me and told me that the car only idles and that it will need to be towed back to my house I was freaking out, so I got on line to look. What could be the problem I found at this website and and called the body shop and had them watch the video and bingo. That was it. The fuse was blown and now the car is perfect. Thank you so much who knows what this would’ve cost with me at a shop I’m so happy right now thank you thank you thank you.🎉
Thanks for this. Currently have this issue on a 2005 RX300. Fuse was indeed blown (after cross connecting the Jump Leads!), but with the Fuse replaced, still won't rev beyond 1800rpm. Diagnosis shows no Fault Codes, but Engine Check Light remains on.
NoNonsenseKnowHow yea i believe that was the issue the battery was dead for a while just replaced it today and the engine light was on and it was idling weird and would not accelerate, and yea we jumped it so many times that's definently what caused the issue
I have that code but it said more liek spring stuck open. So is that the spring in the throttle body? I check that etcs fuse its good.. but i had a check engine light. I pulled that fuse and put it back in.. started the car engine light went away and it accelerate.. you think is there something else is happening? 2006 lexus rx 330
Well, i did drove it today.. ao far so good. Crossing my fingers that it was trigered by the 10amp fuse.. could be loosing connection even though it in.. you know.. but thank you so much. 👊🏽
I need help 2007 is350 Car was jumped backwards. So I had to replace the fusible link which I did. Car didn't start after wards . I checked fuses and remembered that I had to put the EFI fuse back in that fell the day before when I was checking them. So I did that. The car started and the check engine light was on p2118. It had no throttle response. I then checked fuses again and noticed I think it was the ecu had a 15amp instead of 10 amp( I think that was the fuse ) so I fixed that. Car Starrett and then shut off and won't start anymore . It will only start if it sits overnight but then will cut off immediately. What could it be ????
If it keeps blowing, then you have to locate the short to ground. If you're not familiar with this process, I would suggest watching another video how to get a little bit more familiar. Sorry I couldn't be of more help

Worked like a charm! We had a spare 30 amp fuse and used that just to get the car home where we could put in a 10 amp!

For some reason on a boost i blew out the 120 volt fuse, the ETCS fuse and now i see the VSC light on the dash, maybe i have one more fuse to find.

Yeah I could have had something causing the throttle plate to be sticky. If it doesn't come back I wouldn't worry about it though

not sure off hand with out seeing it honestly.
Replaced the 10 Amp blown fuse,and it runs well, but the " check engine " light still stays on. Any ideas how to reset it. Many thanks.

If it keeps blowing, then you have to locate the short to ground. If you're not familiar with this process, I would suggest watching another video how to get a little bit more familiar. Sorry I couldn't be of more help

the tops of the fuses actually have little metal Tangs. So there is metal contact
