- We are going to open three windows in the existing western wall. Here is a detailed video documenting the opening of the first window.

Working with heavy stones, and opening a window is dangerous. Do not try this at home. Ask a professional to do it.
Oh my. Definitely not trying this at home! So much experience and knowledge involved in this risk assessment. It is wonderful to watch. The Jenga outtakes were hilarious and clever.
Such great content.
Being in the Fire Protection industry, it pleases me greatly to see you installing a sprinkler system.
I will not try this at home, I promise
Good job !
Great, the message came accross ;)
Great job done on the window well planned and executed. Looking great nice addition to the house.😊😊😊
Looking fantastic! And the Jenga interludes were both funny and illustrative. Looking forward to watching this project unfold.
We stonecarvers usually have the handle on the angle grinder put on the 'wrong' side, and the cap too, so that the dust blows away from the machine and the operator. At first it'll take some getting used to but once you get the hang of it, it's just much better than being in the full blast all the time, plus the machine lasts longer
That's a lot of work for a small window. I'm not a stone worker but that was cool.
Cracking job, well done. Just ordered myself a chisel for breaker.
really impressive masonry work! great job
I really wanna try this at home now
Fantastic! Continue the good work 💪
Your skills are incredible!
Beautiful! It came out so well
great work fella
Incredible work, all on your own. Amazing 🎉🤩
Good job. But why do you need a sprinkler sistem?
I’m guessing wild fires. Puts out burning embers if they blow into the windows. And reduces heat from the fire front. They will probably be installing them in the roof ridge line too to stop embers from blowing under the tiles. Common where I am in Australia for fire protection.
EXCELLENT JOB. CONGRATULATIONS
Awesome Awesome Awesome job. Looking forward to next videos❤️❤️❤️❤️👌👌👌👌💯💯💯💯💯
It looks amazing!!!
Hello my Friend
Thats a Astonishing Work . Its coming along like a piece of Art ! 👍🏼👌🤙🤗✌
So so beautiful!!!!
Beautiful!
Great job!
I allready did the same ! I know the risks, good job ! Well done !
Please look up ‘needle beams’ for a much safer way of doing this sort of work. They shore up the upper part of the building/wall allowing work on the lower part without risk of collapse.
Thanks for this good suggestion chris. I added a link to a video explaining your suggestion in detail: th-cam.com/video/C2UNJHhxeXo/w-d-xo.html
Yep that’s the one 👍 Take care thanks for the videos 😁
Amazing work this 👏
I hope to see a new video soon. Love what u do 🎉
Very nice.
grazie, come sempre argomento interessante. Buona Pasqua da Verona. Davide
Outstanding!

Major successful dangerous job!
respect from Croatia
so very very beautiful
WOW, how incredible you are!
Wonderful 😎
Ahoj , super práca, klobúk dole👍...určite si hasič alebo záchranár😇😁
Can't wait to "try this at home" ;)
i will def. try this at home, since i have - by coincidence- a one meter thick old stone wall in my garden, which needs an opening
Круто! Хорошая, качественная и трудная работа.
Now I know how the pyramids were built😅! Great job, nice to see your progress😉
Great video. Wonderfull place. Looking forward to follow your progress. BUT I really hope not every 5 minutes to be patronized by the text Do not do this at home!
Thanks for your comment, exaggerated a bit on that as we see from your comments. Didn't know you were so sensitive regarding this text. You can read it as a marker for the parts where serious risks are involved (death, injury).
Wow what a great job. Thanks for taking us along. Your distressing of the snows looks great. And don’t worry i won’t be trying this at home!
shims and wedges. The key to making small rocks from big ones.
Amazing old school techniques! Great Job! I want to do the same to my old house in
Tras-os-Montes. Are you in Beira Alta?
Don't try this at home :)
Wow! So well done! Is the house near a river?
Crazy difficult to do this!
Great window! But...what is the use of a sprinkler on a house window?
Copied from @kieranp4617, "I’m guessing wild fires. Puts out burning embers if they blow into the windows. And reduces heat from the fire front. They will probably be installing them in the roof ridge line too to stop embers from blowing under the tiles. Common where I am in Australia for fire protection."
I'm going to try this at my neighbor's home.
:D hope you are talking about yenga ...
Bel lavoro ! Dove tutto questo ?
Long time since you posted any updates.
I hope you both are doing well
Hi HannaZiadeh, thanks for reaching out. Hope you are also doing good! Yes you are right, we were quite busy with building stuff and our jobs the last month. Unfortunately we could not yet find the freetime to cut the next video, but amount of footage is growing. Hope to upload a new one soon :)
With the silent movie format, I sometimes am wondering “is he being funny?” Lol I’m STILL not sure about where you hooked up the last stone to the car!
Aren't sprinklers usually located in the ceiling? Or is the window supposed to be a safe exitroute just in case?
Great work, and thanks for the video!
Yes there will also be some on the ceiling, but when the window breaks more air comes in, that was what we wanted to prevent.
@@vale.do.salgueiro ah to prevent draft, that makes sense. Thanks for clarifying.
Not draft but i think hes trying to say if the fire breaks the window the fire will get alot more air to burn bigger and hotter inside the house.@@Prah123
@@thesayxx that's what i understood, isn't keeping the windows intact and thus keeping air from entering preventing draft?
english isn't my first language
What is the mix you use to point stones? I assume it’s lime mortar am I correct?
Woot!
nice work.. please why the sprinkler in the window ?????
the ruin is a ruin because it had burned down, so we thought .....
Ola, estou a pensar fazer o mesmo na minha casa que estou a renovar! Poderiam partilhar um contacto?
Aguardamos os vídeos seguintes. Quando ?
Olá, provavelmente em Julho temos um proximo video. Desculpem a demora. Até em breve.
👍
"Don't try this at home" - How many of us have old stone cottages to not try it in?
Jenga is fun 😏
Sorry… already tried this at home 😂
Loved your technique!
:D glad it worked out for you
Thanks guys and all the best with your great project in Italy!
@@vale.do.salgueiro thanks!!
You're supposed to put the head in first, then work from there . Safety first, or the building won't stand.
You might want to check how your mortar mix will react with the exposed copper over time and not try it at home.
Haha :D thanks for the hint
Why dont you want me to open my own window? :))
Where are you guys🤔
Hi hidoito,
we were quite full with work the last month and could not find the time to cut and upload a new video yet. Please be patient for a bit more and we will follow up :)
@@vale.do.salgueiro all clear, looking forward to see your progress!
Bo traballo
Why not just hammer a thin piece of steel in the top then pull the stone out and you braging stone why not use a dolly hand cart and they have a 20in saw saw blade that cut stone it be safer
quite ineffective and time consuming to make wood joints as on 0:10
