At 15:30 Bart describes a scenario where the play is to check to your opponent (even with trips). If your opponent ends up with a range comprised of draws or thick value like in this runout where worse trips is viable then the play is to actually check river since you will not miss the value from weaker trips and it gives the green light for your opponent to bluff missed draws
I had a hand heads up in a tournament today 35ishbb effective, I had kh10s in the big blind, he raised to 2bb I call, flop kdkc8s, I check in flow, he bets 2bb I call, turn qc, I check he checks back, river 5c I bet 4.1bb, he jams 28, I tank and then call and he shows pocket 5s. Idk if I should’ve played this different or if it was just an unfortunate situation, what do you think?
Being 2.5 minutes in, I just want to say this is my favorite thing about Bart videos. “So I’m sitting next to my friend who likes to play J3, and this other guy came to talk to us so I wasn’t paying attention to the hand.” I love live poker
After telling us the entire time that he was considering folding on the river, the caller says "I almost raised for value" at the very end of the call. I'm not sure he even knows what he's saying or doing.
Should a hand like A-8 or A-5 suited with two backdoors fold to $60 on the flop? Is a hand like A-7 or A-6 sigh calling a bet on the river, but checking back with showdown value?
In one room I played, when the BU straddled, they started utg and jumped over the button to the blinds UNLESS there was a 3bet pre in which case it would go to the BU before the blinds. The reason I don't like the BU straddle is that the blinds sometimes don't realize it's on them or the utg folds out of turn. It's a lot more work for the dealer to remind people the action has changed.
you really think it's a bet on the turn with multiple people in the hand? heads up I feel like makes sense but even most of the time you should be checking, even that he said his friend was playing pretty loose so betting is probably still good.
I don't even love the turn bet headsup. When he calls multiple people on the flop, even if the rest fold, what does he have that's calling here? I think he is going to have a lot of AX.
right. Except straight draw (and not both Vs supposed to have a straight draw!), there's a reason why other V paid (flop bet) to see turn card. No weaker hand would've called a turn bet. So: turn was a check.
@@ZeraLordwhich aces will they have? A6, A7, and what else? They don’t have AK based on preflop action (and who knows if they’re even calling that on the flop?), and other Ax hands are not peeling on the flop.
Why wouldn't hero bet small instead of check river? I rhought rhe "rule " was when you think you're infront vast majority of the time and tempted to check to induce ..bet small instead. Haven't seen reveal yet. I just call river frr
the problem with checking river was not a weaker hand would've bet, but would've called a bet. (any two pairs or a weaker Q). BTW, losing to pocket AA should not be surprise. As pocket 77/66 would've played the same. So: does it matter what you lost it to, as long as you lost it?

Can the editor do at least one air traffic controller thumbnail 😂
😂
We need to address this. Such a grand opportunity.
Haha, yeah absolutely!
Lol

I did not have a feeling that the caller called in to be judged.
relax. he clearly just had a mix of emotions during the hand
this hand never happened. at least not for the caller. bullshit.
if hero is raised on the flop... how would u preceed turn and river?
Check raising flop 5 ways with top pair second kicker seems like a gross overplay.

Ultimate last action? Can we just play in order? You know, like they do in poker?
Yeah, that's a terrible game structure.
They like to this crazy thing nowadays like make it more fun and more action, and not just a retirement home 1/3 game
@@kylecox6194A 3-blind structure or (even better) a big blind ante accomplishes that much better without weird, nonsensical straddle rules.

Lots of worse Qx and open enders call. It's fine to close out the gutshots. That ace improves few hands of our opponents.

the wpt thing? do u get your flight and hotel room covered in this package??
What play exactly do players need in their arsenal?
That check
@daniel_cunha I think a lot of people have this play in their arsenal. I don't even think it's necessarily a good play.
Not paying attention, preflop with Aces and just flat call 😂
having AA😂
Nice Thumb Nail Bart.. You need to upgrade your christmas bonuses for your editor's...
Christmas bonus for the AI that made the thumbnail?
@grumblez lol.. I loved it!!!
Are there going to be any Black Friday deals this year?
Nice hand Brad
Usually when someone just grabs a stack of chips and doesn't count them out and puts them in the pot, it's pretty nutted
As played this just seems like a trivial call on the river.
Pain lol I’m sure asf making my buddy run that back
How is a competent villain calling a c/shove with worse after overbetting the river?
Why wouldn't hero bet small instead of check river?

Bart, any Black Friday specials for CLP?😂
Cool story bro.

Me and my buddy in a soft game… hes been 3 betting J3 off suit… hes squirrely… (???) Okay bud
Did just say pacificly?😂

pocket 7s or 6s get 3bet on the flop
@@mathiastheblaugrana5491You literally don't even know what a 3-bet is.
this is another hand then never happened. literally some schmuck and his friends wanting to see if they could get on live. psh ... BULLSHIT
I’m folding pre
This is the worst call in of the entire year. This guy is on drugs.
