Recreant deeds In lightless places They pick my bones And hide their faces They pick my bones And sing their praises (With) no heart of our own Still forced to take it Into minds and onto hands I set my seed at zero I object to your demands The dull ache of twisting space Grinding teeth Devouring mouths to mutter, Words without grace What lies beneath.... ....The ocean of ideas? Shame or repentance? Curled up and ready to strike Until the earth has perished And once again, Ready to create something like... ...You and I Ritual re-enactment In selfsame glory Reliving life's every wing I shred my memories To no longer think Down the bottomless pit Sink dignity sink What story is there to tell? God taught his children to hate Onwards my journey to hell What was my fatal mistake? A liberty that will never acquit, Eating me up bit by bit Something I came to depend on Once adored, but now gone Don't fear the frown From the tongue-washed disdain Don't hear the slander When no one remains Don't wear no crown When they shout your name Don't carry the burden Don't suffer the blame When every side is met ...To no purpose, For a consciousness in debt How I hung upon these thoughts Of a flawed life's rightful duel, To encounter what come may And forever suffer through... One's own beating heart Forced to separate From the one you love ...And ever so desperate For a fresh start No virtue paid to solve regret ...All but wishes, but nothing yet
I love those old school BM, slowed down, warped vocals that make singers sound like demons. Sounds like the sound track to a fantasy underworld like The Abyss, Tarturus or Hades. I wish people where I lived would get into these guys so I could at least stand a chance of seeing them live.
Honestly I think the song writing on this one song makes the whole album. Lyrically it mixes with the weirdness of the music, to tell a dark and lonesome story.
One's own beating heart Forced to separate From the one you love And ever so desperate For a fresh start No virtue paid to solve regret All but wishes, but nothing yet So goddamn good!
it may seem strange but the last part with blast beat reminds me of the early Anathema with Darren White on vocals. Think Pentecost III. At least this voice is as passionate.
This album is monumental
This guys can now get married and live a happy life cause they have written a masterpiece. They cant get any better than this
Agree 99%
The other 1% is that i really think they will blown my mind again
A new album is on our way. Wait for it. I've had the exact same thoughts again and again, but old Vic does not fuck around, for sure.
2023 proved you liar and i m really happy it did!
This is something else truly.
The longest song I've sat through! Great work!
¡Completamente sublime! No hay palabras....
The best album!
This album.. God damn.
Recreant deeds
In lightless places
They pick my bones
And hide their faces
They pick my bones
And sing their praises
(With) no heart of our own
Still forced to take it
Into minds and onto hands
I set my seed at zero
I object to your demands
The dull ache of twisting space
Grinding teeth
Devouring mouths to mutter,
Words without grace
What lies beneath....
....The ocean of ideas?
Shame or repentance?
Curled up and ready to strike
Until the earth has perished
And once again,
Ready to create something like...
...You and I
Ritual re-enactment
In selfsame glory
Reliving life's every wing
I shred my memories
To no longer think
Down the bottomless pit
Sink dignity sink
What story is there to tell?
God taught his children to hate
Onwards my journey to hell
What was my fatal mistake?
A liberty that will never acquit,
Eating me up bit by bit
Something I came to depend on
Once adored, but now gone
Don't fear the frown
From the tongue-washed disdain
Don't hear the slander
When no one remains
Don't wear no crown
When they shout your name
Don't carry the burden
Don't suffer the blame
When every side is met
...To no purpose,
For a consciousness in debt
How I hung upon these thoughts
Of a flawed life's rightful duel,
To encounter what come may
And forever suffer through...
One's own beating heart
Forced to separate
From the one you love
...And ever so desperate
For a fresh start
No virtue paid to solve regret
...All but wishes, but nothing yet
That tiny 'renaissance'-theme at 7:23 caught me completely off-guard, but it was a very nice surprise!

Brilliant.
magnificent..

This is the proper followup to 666 International.
Love it.
Ladies and Gentlemen Dødheimsgard.
no virtue paid to solve regret
all but wishes, but nothing yet...
The whole song is great, but those blast beats... fuuuuuuuck! Pure 1990s DHG right there.
One's own beating heart
Forced to separate
From the one you love
And ever so desperate
For a fresh start
No virtue paid to solve regret
All but wishes, but nothing yet
So goddamn good!
I've also returned to this album after a year and find it no less than a masterpiece.
