Mind Blowing to another dimension of the mind and spirit. Im from Chile and i discovered this album same year it was released. Pure coincidence. An album that will be achieved in my heart for life, as a Masterpiece. Every sound functions so perfect with each other at every moment...And lyrics interpretation by Aldrahan are just so deep, even with divine greatness (have you ever seen him body interpretating while he is singing ''A umbra omega'' songs???I utterly recommend you to do that ). This Lyrics are so deep. I interpretated far now a spiritual journey of leaving your normal experience of been a human to something Superior. And Superior it is just whats this album is too in musical composition and creation. In that i see too, the logical perfection of its assembly. Two and a Half years later...Still every song have my full atention. Musical and Spiritual attention. fucking divine.
Wow, this is something new to me in this BM realm. Although slightly melodic (which I think is more like church music, doesn't really matter to me - I just see it as an ascertain thing, who cares . . . ) Interesting technical patterns, chain composing à la Luc Lemay (Gorguts), slightly peculiar (in a positive way) because of the combinations made with all of the above and the vocals. Further I REALLY like the given compositional atmosphere. As said this is new to me, a good friend told me back in the days (almost 20 years ago) about this band, which I really liked too. But there are not many bands who dared to progress like this one (yes, as said Gorguts dared to do so) It is good, and imho very needed that we musicians seek for originality above of entertainment values. You guys do that. I am going after the lyrics now! Thanks for sharing!! Hails from Holland \m/ (last but not least - this is a type of art I actually consider buying instead of just listening to on this channel, that doesn't happen very often)
Looks like Emperor and Bohren und Der Club of Gore decided to join their efforts to compose a masterpiece! Though I will always miss Kvohst's vocals, this is a great piece of music.
"A Umbra Omega" reminds me of The Shinning's acoustic melancholia, Satyricon's mid-career ventures, and even Urgehal's gloomy aggressiveness. It demonstrates DHG's versatility. I have pretty low expectation after the average "Supervillain Outcast", but damn, this is on par with "666 International" (or better?). There is something strangely new in this release. Post-rock black metal, ambience, groovy bass, and at times, jazzy interludes. DHG is joining the ranks of Deathspell Omega and Kayo Dot!
IMO, DHG is above deathspell omega, only with 666 international. That said, i don't understand why people hate supervillain outcast that much. People shouldn't try to compare it to another dodheismgard's album and take it as it is: a good straightforward metal-indus album.
+Stephan Sandrock I was introduced to both these bands in the book "Black Metal: Evolution of the Cult" by Dayal Patterson. A must read for those of us who have spiraled down the rabbit hole.
I once read in an interview that he was high off the psychedelic substance LSD during the studio recording of Satanic Art. The psychedelic influence on Dødheimsgards music during and after that era kind of makes more sense after reading that interview. Here is the interview by the way: soundgaze.gr/index.php/stiles/arthra/item/1621-afieroma-aldrahn-dodheimsgard-the-deathtrip-thorns-o-kallitexnis-mesa-apo-ta-dika-tou-logia The interview is only available in Greek, but Google translate will still convey the meaning in a respectable way.
Vicotnik is one of the most underrated geniuses of the norweigan scene. Ved Buens Ende took the scene on whole new level.
If you are talking about the norwegian bm scene, I don't think VBE fits into that category at all. Neither does dhg though.
Oh how amazed and humble I feel under it's grandeur. Pink Floyd from the trenches of Hell!
Give us more +10min tracks!
This is brilliant, pure madness.
I totally underestimated this band back in the day, NOW after seeing them live in Tasmania I have obsessed over this band, TUSEN TAKK!!!
This is so great untill 7:11 - after this moment it stops being great and begins being a fucking masterpiece.
I completely agree.
+Rob Czr Oh yes, that's EXACTLY!!!!! Goosebumps, that part of the song haunted me for weeks after I first heard it.
The entire album past this point is crazy good!
It still blows my mind, like the first time I listened to it... Thinking about tabbing this one in the future.
9 years of waiting but I'm forgiving you!
Right, thx!

fucking divine.
Worth the wait.
Beautiful.
An only work: PERFECTION.
The most greatest Black Metal song of last 20 years.
Eyes opening. Staring into everything.
Mind-unraveling riffs on this track... DHG is back with a fucking vengeance!!!!
7:25 and on strong DSBM feel
one word: Masterpiece
Dafuq... How'd I not know about this?. Supervillain Outcast left me looking and waiting for more & this is well worth the wait. This is beautiful!.

Amazing. Mighty triangles.
Best album in black metal since Prometheus
@Vinícius M Most likely Emperor's
Gotta check that thy darkened shade
The first minute is my favorite part man. I love the whole song tho

IS THIS WHAT I THINK IT IS? My ears came.
Amazing! Best of this band

ZH0224 You really have a problem with Supervillian outcast??

super villan outcast was NOT average lol. I think it's personally their best
@@---do2qd not their best, but definitely not deserving of the hate it gets.
@@sirepoupe DSO is king
thanks...
its
gorgeous!!!
Eager to hear the rest.
THANK YOU!
Excellent!!!
Wow... just... wow...
IMO that's the most vedbuensendesque of anything Czral/Vicotnik made after VBE.
🌳 ABSOLUTELY 🌳
Awesome!
A split with DHG and Fleurety would be great.
Stephan Sandrock indeed. and even more great if Svein contributed again on DHGs material :P
+Stephan Sandrock I was introduced to both these bands in the book "Black Metal: Evolution of the Cult" by Dayal Patterson. A must read for those of us who have spiraled down the rabbit hole.
Pure mindfuck.
NICE! Do they play this live?
Great instrumental, seams like something of Drottnar band
The vocals are a little loud, but it's still good.
Read the description, this is just a raw teaser.
aldrahn is always loud :_D
***** Seems like you didn't read the description yourself. The album is mixed with a 'raw and organic' production. This is how the CD will sound...
hIViremia Aighty w/e
Vocals are a bit goofy but it's still a great track... Very unique and creative tune.
aldrahn has been known to take quite a few psychedelics before heading to the studio.
CaptainFeedingTube That's the kind of story I like to hear!
CaptainFeedingTube
Aldrahn is clean as a whistle now. No drugs required.
+Tore Pedersen Yeah, why cross the same river twice? :)
