- Join award-winning car-reviewer Justin Pritchard (that's me!) as I bring you a detailed Canadian review covering a hot topic: the Honda Accord Hybrid vs the Toyota Crown.
I'll be exploring the 11th-generation Honda Accord, built in Ohio and available in Radiant Red, which arrived at Canadian dealerships in February of 2023. It's sleeker, more sophisticated, and longer than its predecessor. But how does it compare to the all-new Toyota Crown, built in Japan?
00:00 Introduction
00:24 Honda Accord Touring Hybrid Key Specifications
01:54 Honda Accord Touring Hybrid vs Camry Hybrid vs Sonata Hybrid
03:48 Honda Accord Hybrid vs Toyota Crown
05:02 Toyota Crown: How Roomy Is It?
06:57 Honda Accord Hybrid vs Toyota Crown Road Test
10:47 Honda Accord Hybrid Night Drive and Headlight Test
I'll be diving deep into the specifics of passenger volume, interior volume, and an interesting secret that the Accord and Crown share if you dig hard enough through the specifications of these two machines.
I'll also compare the Crown's entry price, power, fuel economy, and dimensions with the Accord.
Stay tuned for the most detailed analysis you've ever seen on these competitors. And don't forget to check out the Honda Accord's headlights in action! After nearly 3,000 miles of testing, I'll also be comparing the driver assist and safety features of these cars head to head as well.

I have been patiently waiting for this comparison Justin. Great review, as always!
I tested both cars. Seems like the Toyota engine is a bit louder than the Honda . Both are great, but the crown is great for snowy days.
Totally agree. I prefer the Accord's powertrain but the lack of AWD is pretty much a deal breaker for me!
Excellent thorough review Justin! A lot of great info for the hybrid market! Well done son!❤
I might have missed it, but a turn radius or ease of 3-point turn including visibility could be a nice comparison for similarly sized vehicles as well. Especially helpful when you have to turn around on some gravel side road when you miss a driveway.
Something I do quite often.. great idea thank you!
Excellent review ! One panel member of CR stated his favorite test vehicle for 2023 was the seemless Accord Hybrid.. and the cabin size is impressive.. making me rethink if i want a hot hatch after all??!? Too bad it lacks AWD
Awesome video! Just curious which one would you recommend 2022 ES 300h or the 23 Crown? Im just looking for a nice ride that has the least amount of road noise on the highway.
Tough call there to be honest. I'm not sure. I've driven the current ES generation, or if I have it's been years.
I've always enjoyed previous versions of that car for the highway ride, actually one of my favorites.
I hope you test drive. Both, the Lexus will be roomier but if you can deal with a little less space in the Crown, I bet you'd be surprised at how close to the Lexus it is.
Do let me know!
What happened to the nighttime comparison of the Crown headlights?
Coming up in its own seperate video soon-- there's enough to say for its own story.
Stay tuned!
@JustinPritchard Justin, really enjoy your reviews. Looking forward to your Crown headlight segment.
So.I'm not the only one to notice this....
@JustinPritchard why not just do it in one video? Are their lights that complex?
I was looking at the crown, but the accord is pretty close to size and has more internal space. That’s a big deal for me. I’m seriously looking into an accord for the next car
Nice comparison. Will be good to see how the new Camry compares to both.
of all the things that honda is so excellent at doing, why would they not put a spare tire or sirius radio access in the new Accord hybrid....man, that can be such a deal breaker...and I heard people miss a heated steering wheel too.....why Honda, why?????
Sirius XM and all other content apps have to be run from your phone via Apple Carplay or Android Auto. I agree its disappointing Honda dropped it from the infotainment interface. You can still get a 3 month trial as Sirius XM is having subscriber losses ans needs new customers. Also, you only need a base streaming subscription available for under $10/month. Player controls in app are currently inferior to old UI infotainment options for presets and play/pause functions.
The Honda does not have a spare tire, not even a donut spare.
I don't know of hardly any Hybrids that have a spare.
Comm'on buddy why do they have body heights in imperial?
Because that's the way many of us think!
Canada=Imperial
I got the crown and I have heard about the honda! DO NOT BUY !!!! A major disappointment!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What was a disappointment? Crown or Honda
both but I have the crown and it is.@@SushiSlayer671
What a deep, informative statement. I have the 24 Accord Touring trim. If you don't live in a compromised climate that needs awd, this car is absolutely perfect.
