I remember being wary when the Early Access was a year-long Epic exclusive, but they won me over with their strong community links. And even now, after release, they're still keeping to it. Kudos.
Thank YOU for not only developing and maintaining such an amazing game, but _also_ for the way in which you did all that. I have never seen any better example of a studio which truly put a lot of value into early access like you guys have. And the game itself... it's a work of art. I just installed a "creative" LAN server for me and my gf to play on, and I couldn't believe how easy it was to set up. It's all of those experiences combined which makes this such an amazing ride.
Just reported an issue / suggestion with copy/paste display configurations in game. Thank you so much for the game! I've been having lots of fun! Also, just wanted to share... this game is A LOT like my work (Software QA). You look at your factory, and you find something is odd. You investigate. You look further up the production chain looking for places where the problem might be coming from. You find the issue. You investigate how to fix it. Sometimes it's as simple as adding another pump or expanding a single conveyor belt up a tier. Sometimes... it's more complicated. Then, after between 5 minutes to 2 business days, the original problem is solved. Never has a game's name been so spot on to describe it.
I feel like my story with this game is so... Different. I DID not know this game existed until I saw the 1.0 release on steam. I watched the video on the steam page, kinda felt meh. And went on with my day, but youtube, my saviors. Pushed a very, very good satisfactory youtubers video to me. I was, absolutely hooked. I watched hours, upon hours of early access stuff, and the first bit of 1.0 videos. I squeezed enough money to grab it, and played about 10 hours my first sit play. And since getting the game, I've logged 70 hours (I know, literally chump change. But I've played SO much, still gotta beat it!) I gotta say, I absolutely love love love this game. It is everything I've ever looked for in a video game. That combined with the seemingly endless sentiment for you guys from fans that you are very communicative and listen well to the community, a very rare thing frankly in modern gaming. You've made a game on par in originality and endless fun as "The Stanley Parable." In my not-so-important opinion. I actually mean this when I say this. A 10/10 video game. Not many games immediately earn their value of purchase in one sitting. I had so much fun in the first 10 hours, and it's only gotten better. Bravo, everyone!
Totally opposite experience for me, I was hooked from the time they first showed it off, but I absolutely loved Factorio. There was the whole Epic Games debacle which really soured me on the game, but I saw the video explaining it and Jace just said straight up that they were doing it for money reasons, and that was honest and transparent enough that I was like, "Okay, yeah, if you're going to be straight up with me, I'll respect it," so I have it on Steam and Epic Games now. I'd played it a little through early access, but basically never got past assemblers, refined iron plates was my hard line, I just found difficulty translating Factorio concepts to 3D, and it drove me crazy that it was belts that fed into machines instead of inserters. 1.0 came out and I've given it another real shot, trying to incorporate verticality and making sure foundations are put down as soon as I unlocked them and I've absolutely loved it. Running trains has been a blast, if significantly more time consuming and finnicky than Factorio trains (or any other top down games that have trains for that matter: Workers and Resources, Transport Fever, Sweet Transit etc) but it is awesome to see the network running in first person to grasp the scale. Love the game, it still doesn't beat out Factorio for me (or Shapez 2, that game is an absolute banger) but I love it for what it is, a more casual exploration based factory game than a straight up factory game.

It's good to see that the player count basically exploded. I stopped playing probably a year ago, because the updates kept messing up my game, and my spaghetti factories, so I decided to wait until 1.0. At least I can now experience the new stuff at once.
Such an incredible journey and launch... I LOVED that dismantling of "Early Access"! For implementing controller support, it might be useful to reference popular Steam Controller mappings to see if there are any good layouts for the default config. The Steam controller's touchpads might lessen their applicability to normal joystick controllers but I believe it'd be worth looking at.
I cannot remember the last game I played to the point of falling asleep. Not because I got bored. But because I didn't want to stop playing. Making me feel like I'm a teenager again over how excited I am about this game.
I bought this game this first day it came out on EA back in the old Epic exclusivity days… and I’m so filled with joy to have been playing this whole time through every update across hundreds of hours and about half a dozen different save files. It’s been an incredible journey. I can’t wait for this part that’s currently unfolding
Snutt, its not just the game. The game honestly wouldnt have had this amazing community without you (and in the past you and Jace). Best community managers ive ever seen in my 35 years of life. Huge respect to the entire Coffestain team
They should write a book about this development cycle called "how to do early access well". The sad thing is that this type of game will never be as profitable as live service, but we're fortunate enough to have studios like coffee stain who are still willing to make them. Love your players and they will love you back.
It's interesting... this game sat in my library collecting virtual dust for at least a year because I never played it. Then the hype for the 1.0 release started happening and I caught a video of someone starting a new playthrough for the release. It immediately caught my eye and I've been hooked ever since. I question what took me so long to get into this game, but apparently I just wasn't ready to play it until now. Great game, love it. Can see myself playing this for a long time to come.
As someone who has played since early access, I am so proud of what you all have done with this game. It's been so cool to play through all of the updates. They allowed us to vicariously share the development journey with you.
about 25 hours into my first save, its so refreshing to play the game from the beggining again. Thank you guys for making such an amazing game and kind community!!!
You are a model for how the gaming community should be doing anything and everything. From early access, to community management/communication, you guys are at the absolute top of S tier and I can't wait to support what's next for the company
I've only had 2 crashes on my 100+ hour 1.0 save. The stability and and optimisation of this game despite how complicated it is, is mind blowing. A masterpiece of a game on par with the likes of Bloodborne and Shadow of the colossus. Made by a truly brilliant team.
We have been playing Satisfactory for many years and each update was just amazing. The communication with the fans absolute wonderful. Congratulations to 1.0 and thanks for letting us know about certain crashes and hiccups. As a passionate DRG player I liked the achievement "Rock and Stone" made me feel warm and fuzzy in my heart when I saw it popping up.
I've been playing since update 4 and CSS is a glaring example of what a Game Dev should be. Early Access went exactly how early access should go in my opinion and now 1.0 is soaring because of it. You managed to make 1.0 feel brand new to someone who has played for years. Thank you for all the communication and collaboration with the players. Looking forward to the updates and your next project!
1. shows gratitude for successful launch 2. acknowledges the existing issues and explains that they are being worked on 3. gives players workarounds and ideas until the issues get fixed permanently 4. doesn't treat players as idiots while giving them tips 5. sees a squirrel 6. embrace and support the modders, respecting their time and effort put into mods 7. stays humble i wish every disgusting bigcorpo game devs get forced to watch this video 24/7 until they understand how to be a decent company.
Thank you for making this game and engaging with the community through these videos. I've loved this journey to 1.0 with CSS. Your engagement with the community should be an industry standard. Thank youuu!
When I first tried Satisfactory for the first time I knew it was a good game, but I never expected it to be so compelling and addicting. The game is amazing and I'm thankful companies are still up to such high standards nowdays. THANK YOU !
I Love how Open, Upfront, Honest, & Genuine You guys are towards players, fans, and your community.... Y'all need to write a book, so other studios, developers, and companies can learn how to do it right
Started playing again after a year or so ago. Two days before the 1.0 release. Got back into it, then started a new world after the update. I can only say that the difference between a year ago and now is staggering. Satisfactory was always a very well polished and developed early access game. But iv been following the updated and can honestly say its taken over as my go to game to play. Just excellent, congratulations to everyone who worked on making it and hopefully you guys can take a well earned break.
Came back to Satisfactory after 2 years to explore the updated mechanics, have been pouring hours with some friends. Thank you for your dedication and commitment to bringing your vision for the game to reality, you guys are a model to be followed in this industry ❤
You guys deserve every bit of praise and I hope many, many more players will get to enjoy the masterpiece that is Satisfactory. You've been so committed these last few years with just establishing a new best practice for Early Access and Communication - I've never seen it at this level for any game and it's definitely part of why I've been playing Satisfactory for years now. The release feels like a breath of fresh air to an already beloved game, so all in all: Thank you!
I LOVE this studio, and all of the people that made Satisfactory Possible. Not only should this be GOTY, but the Devs should earn awards for outstanding community relations, support, communications, and just plain "being the real deal" when it comes to having their fingers on the pulse of the gamers and gaming community.
Sadly, I had to part ways with my computer to afford moving out of my parents place for college right before the release of 1.0, and now that the semester started, I cant afford buying a new one, so I'm eagerly awaiting for the console release to play it on the Xbox my friend lended me. I just want you to know coffee stain, that your game managed to make me nostalgic, hopeful, amazed, entertained, proud and happy. And I want to share that feeling with you. Thank you coffee stain for making bad times better and old memories and friendships pleasant to look upon. I will never forget the all nighters me and my best buddy pulled back in high school to finish that one supercomputer factory. It wasn't pretty or efficient, but it was ours and I thank you for letting me feel that kind of pride. Love, Nathan
The recipe is simple. Care about your game. Don’t hide issues and don’t over promise. I have followed since the beginning and the love you all have for the game is obvious and we all are thankful for what you do for us the community. Thank you.
Got hooked since the early Alpha or Beta (I honestly can't remember which) and has been a great ride. Looking foward to hitting Tier 9 and Saving The Day
I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again, Satisfactory is incredible because of the amazing devs and community engagement. Snutt is such a driving factor in the game’s success. Can’t wait to see what’s in store for Satisfactory
I am the one that needs to thank you guys at CSS. I found thus game Jan of 2023, before then I was in a very bad place mentally. But after going on a whim and trying the game,, I feel in love with it. I can truly say, this game, and the awesome community saved my life. So thank you for making such an awesome game. ❤
You guys have set a new bar for what it means to do Early Access. As well as industry leading community engagement. I loved the game in early access and love it even more now. Congrats on the success of launch. I hope more game companies take notice of the success of this game studio.
That wasn't a squirrel, that was a doggo in disguise. Hope you threw him a nut or berry. So glad the active player base is beyond your expectations, you guys deserve it. Its amazing how supportive and responsive you guys have been. Other developers should take notes.
No, thank you. Bought this game years ago, loved it even as early access as it was (I think there was only a tier 4? Don’t quite remember.) Have been following as you moved close to 1.0, and it truly is a work of art. Thank you for the beautiful game, you deserve the praise and the players from it.
I've been playing satisfactory since I think before update 2? I can't remember exactly. It's been a very long time. Regardless, I bought the game on epic but as of recently I bought the game on steam to celebrate the 1.0 release. To coffee stain, congratulations. We're all very proud of you. Thank you for being the prime example of how to do early access right.

The sad thing is that this type of game will never be as profitable as live service, but we're fortunate enough to have studios like coffee stain who are still willing to make them. Love your players and they will love you back.
You guys deserve every bit of praise and happiness you're receiving. The game is amazing and your engagement with the community is second to none.
Been playing for over 5 years now since update 2 - So happy to see y'all get the (well deserved) success. 💕
As someone who has played since early access, I am so proud of what you all have done with this game. It's been so cool to play through all of the updates. They allowed us to vicariously share the development journey with you.
Letting him sit out in the woods on a rock... I half expected him to pull out a chainsaw and start setting up conveyor belts
Dude it's been an amazing experience being involved in this from our end as well. I've never felt so included and valued in a games development.
about 25 hours into my first save, its so refreshing to play the game from the beggining again. Thank you guys for making such an amazing game and kind community!!!
Best. Customer. Support. Ever. You worked hard for your success! Your transparency builds customer enthusiasm. Besides being a fabulous building game.
I very much appreciated the 'known-issues' post. I kept having the shader error crash, and the launch options fix saved it.
It is awesome to have a studio actively responding to people. Hell of a job with 1.0, and looking forward to what you do next!!!
I love how open you guys are about the development process and the support for the mod community!!!
I bought the game on full launch and was astonished by the level of polish that this game has... Please keep updating and/or creating games!
The team created something really special with satisfactory, this will be a classic for years to come.
I have played every version up to 1.0 and I was surprised how many awesome new things I've found so far! Great release!
Congrats on 1.0!! Been around a bit here, love all the work energy and well, love you all put Into this project! Keep being efficient! Thank you
You made one of the best games. At every step, it's clear how much love and commitment went into creating it. Thank you so much for making this gem!
I was here as a tester during pre-alpha, I’m so happy this game has grown so well!
1. shows gratitude for successful launch
2. acknowledges the existing issues and explains that they are being worked on
3. gives players workarounds and ideas until the issues get fixed permanently
4. doesn't treat players as idiots while giving them tips
5. sees a squirrel
6. embrace and support the modders, respecting their time and effort put into mods
7. stays humble
i wish every disgusting bigcorpo game devs get forced to watch this video 24/7 until they understand how to be a decent company.
Thank you and congratulations to you and the team. 1.0 has been fantastic, hope you guys are enjoying yourselves and celebrating a job well done!
The transparency and honesty is really impressive. you guys made one hell of a game
Y'all need to write a book, so other studios, developers, and companies can learn how to do it right
This has got to be the best game studio EVER! The communication, the games, the developers, everyone: you are all the best. Thank you so much!
The way you guys handle the game and especially the community should be state of the art for the whole gaming industry.
Came back to Satisfactory after 2 years to explore the updated mechanics, have been pouring hours with some friends. Thank you for your dedication and commitment to bringing your vision for the game to reality, you guys are a model to be followed in this industry ❤
Careful, Snutt. That squirrel was looking for you. Or a couple of you.
For... the winter.
Started playing Satisfactory on launch day for the first time, now I already have about 70 hours in game. This is a masterpiece
Thank YOU for doing such a great job on the game and for doing such a great job keeping your players informed for all of early access.
The recipe is simple. Care about your game. Don’t hide issues and don’t over promise. I have followed since the beginning and the love you all have for the game is obvious and we all are thankful for what you do for us the community. Thank you.
way to go guys! you are the best gaming studio. I love being a part of this journey
In a world where game publishers have been putting out drivel and bad monetization, Satisfactory shines bright! Thank you for being awesome!
Can’t wait to see what’s in store for Satisfactory
that's a whole lot of biomass behind you.
I was there, Snutt, I was there 6 years ago at the e3 2018 reveal trailer ...
In nearly 50 years of video gaming, Satisfactory is in my top 10 of all time. A joy to play. Thankyou!
