Get rid of the 'Rangsan' in case of flat mites? Yes, that's very drastic.
Just treat the plant and it will be fine.

@@MichaelHaeffner yes, I know haha. It’s still sitting in my cabinet. I’m working on getting a small treatment together to take care of it (or try to) so hopefully they go away.

Cv means cultivar! Matcha lattes are delightful 🤗

Thank you for sharing your Hoya collection 😊
Since you touched other plants after you touched the Hoya Rangsan that you suspect has flatmites, Id suggest to treat it (and the plants near it and the ones you touched after touching it) in stead of getting rid of it, since you also said you do like it 🌸
There are lots and lots of different Hoya Carnosa out there…
Maybe someone will see this who will know what to do “officially”, but sadly there wont be a “legit” ascension number
    CV means cultivar 🌸
The problem with a lot of Hoya names… is that they are locations. Sarawak is a region on Borneo.
The same happens with the name Aceh.
Many Hoya can get the name of the rough area where they were collected and it leads to many people getting something different than what they were looking for. (Your Sarawak may not be a Latifolia)
On the positive side…. Maybe it is a variety that not many people have? That would be exciting 😉 Did it come with a number?
If you think your Hoya Engleriana needs less light, but needs to stay in the cabinet, maybe there is a spot with less light in a corner or on the side of the cabinet?
There actually is a splash version of Hoya Minibelle, that one has a lot of splash, very pretty (but it can also a little unstable in the splash).
If you are worried about humidity when your Hoyas grow too big for the cabinet, maybe you can add a humidifier and group them near it?
A lot of Hoya will do fine with down to 40% humidity if the rest of the care is in order… perhaps it is worth a try while keeping a close eye on them 🪴
Some that I have and adore, from the top of my head:
    - Hoya Calycina (soft to touch, lots and lots of scented flowers)
    - Hoya Caudata Sumatra (easy to bloom, cute fluffy flowers, nice artsy leaves)
    - Hoya Erythrostemma splash
    - Hoya Heuschkeliana inner variegated
    - Hoya Peltata, tiny, can stay in a cabinet forever
    - Hoya Pulchra
    Ones that I don’t like:
    - Finlaysonii types (very controversial 😂)
    - quite a bunch of the Hoyas with larger flowers 😅
Hoyas I would maybe like to get someday:
    - Hoya Blashernaezi Siariae pink
    - Hoya Butleriana
    - Hoya KSB 010
    - Hoya KSB 015
    - Hoya Lacunosa Souma
    - Hoya Mengtzeensis
    - Papuahoya IM-08
    - Hoya Solaniflora NS12-277
    - Hoya Spectatissima

I realized I probably should have at least washed my hands as soon as i finished filming haha. I'm probably going to treat my whole cabinet since that's where the rangsan has been living.
And I know, it stinks but it's all part of the hoya game I guess. Mine definitely doesn't look the same as TheJungleHaven's at all so I'm just assuming it isn't. But It's still cool to watch grow!
I've seen the splashy minibelle, it's GORGEOUS. Ahh.. one day haha
I would get a humidifier but I don't have room anywhere except my cabinet to keep plants. The house I live in is unfortunately very narrow so wall space is somewhat necessary in parts. I have been thinking about getting some shelves though, so I may be able to work my bigger plants in with a humidifier like you said.
And I love the hoyas that you don't like haha I love me a good Finlaysonii lol
I'll have to look some of those up! I haven't heard of some of them.
**I just looked up the mengtzeensis and it is stunning. I just added it to my wishlist 😂
Thanks for your comment! It means a lot that you went into this much detail and explained so much!😊

@ Pests can be such a pain to deal with 😅
I like your mindset in that, even if it isn’t what we expected, enjoying it is still possible! 😊
(And can always try to find that wishlist plant again someday)
(Splashy Minibelle, like Carnosa Wilbur Graves is not super stable, but very pretty indeed)
It is good that you think ahead as to if you can add a space (the shelves) sometimes Hoyas suddenly grow like crazy, all need trellises and don’t fit anywhere 😅 (true story, it happened to me)
Of course they can be chopped back and kept small too 😊
      Wishing you a wonderful day

If you are worried about flat mites, watch Dave, the Sober Plant Guy, on the go to treatment for flat mites and the cheaper solution that worked. Essentially, it’s just dipping the roots in hydrogen peroxide. Easy peasy. He treats all new plants when they arrive to prevent future flat mites. He also has a spray, courtesy of Liquidirt, to keep other pests away. I’ve made it up, it smells fantastic and no pests thus far.🤞

Oh thanks! I’ve seen a few of his videos before and liked them, I might need to try that spray 😊

@@michellechapman8738 most of my Hoya (like 90%) live in my cabinet so it’s like summer all the time in there. Do you think I should take mine out of the cabinet?
