lol you can try the honest abe exhaust mod that I mention, it will help a little bit by adding some more base. Alternatively you can look into aftermarket exhausts which are easy enough to install on this bike.
Do you happen to know off hand if all of this applies to the C50T? I have a 2008 C50T in great shape, but needs new tires and I wonder if that LED bulb will help too?
If the 2010 and up bars give a more relaxed seating position, can they be swapped onto the 06-09 models? If so will most of the cables need to be changed to reach bar components?
Check your 06-09 model, see how much slack your original cables have. If they look like you could stretch them back a couple inches and not be straining them than you're good to go :)
Hi @YouMotorcycle. Excellent tips - I have the exact same bike ('09 Special). If I hammer out the baffles, are there any positive or negative impacts to expect to performance or fuel efficiency?
I have a C50, a 2007. Love it but can't stand the positioning of the speedo. I wonder if the gauge on the M50 will plug into the C50? Or at least work with some wiring. I look at bikes from the 70's and 80's that have speedo, rpm, full temp gauge and more. Today you get a speedo and a gas gauge if you're lucky. Not to mention I've noticed on my C50 that past 40 mph the speedo reads 5 mph faster compared to an app on my phone, it's accurate i also compared to my car.
Hey, love your vids. I was hoping to use some of the knowledge you have about the m50. I am about to buy 2009 m50 with 400 original miles that is not running. You could try better front brake pads, but, when's the last time you bled the brakes? Sometimes fresh brake fluid goes a long way, especially if you don't know the last time it was flushed. I have a video that shows you how to do it.
Just to be clear. The link to the tires in the description is already set to go to the correct size? Mine is a 2006, I'm gonna google it to be safe but if you want to respond, that'd be cool too. Thanks so much for the videos!!!
Ok. Here's a video on how to tell whether or not your motorcycle tires need to be replaced: th-cam.com/video/L_w9f_IBiWg/w-d-xo.html it has seven things to look for. If your Dunlops don't have any of these problems you're probably ok to keep them until it's time for replacement.
I just bought a 2005 m50 and the front wheel is broke. Do you know where I can find an inexpensive replacement or even one that wasn't specifically made for this model but that will still fit?
There's one on eBay for $215 plus shipping. I would also try calling up the motorcycle salvage businesses near wherever you are. Finally, give the dealer a call and see what the price difference is versus a new one
I purchased last summer a 2014 Suzuki Boulevard M50...can't find any upgrades for this. I wanted a sissy bar and pad....nowhere. Can't find the light covers for turn signals. A damn car destroyed the 2 back covers and middle light. What website do you recommend?
Turn signal lenses you can just get from any Suzuki dealer. Sissy bar is available all over, just google it instead of going to specific retailer. I saw a bunch in a ten second google search. Take a look.

Hey Exilant! That's unfortunate. They aren't necessarily street legal here either, but they aren't actively enforced unless you give the cops reason to give you a hard time for it. That's another reason why I opt for baffled aftermarket pipes instead of open ones, modern LED headlights instead of crazy powerful etc. Trying to find the right balance between improving, and not drawing too much attention! haha
@@YouMotorcycle Yeah most riders that do illegal mods on their bikes here pursue the same tactic. It's no good for me when i finally get my rider's licence i will be in a trial period that lasts 2 years. If you violate ANY traffic law during that period and get caught your licence will be gone and you have to do something thats called the "idiot test" or MPU. After 2 years you'll get "points" and when you accumulated 8 points your licence is gone too. An illigal exhaust would be at least 4 points and a hefty fine to give an example.

@@ОхотаиРыбалкапокайфу Drilling out the baffles can remove back flow to the motor, which could lead to loss of power. Just puncturing a narrow hole to let a little more sound out shouldn't have negative impacts. If you think about the way an aftermarket exhaust is (open all the way through), the stock pipe with a hole punched through the plates will still have more backpressure to the engine than aftermarket pipes will, and no one worries too much about losing power when putting those on.

Why don't you record a video of it and put it on TH-cam and ask the m50 communities?
Please make a video how to eliminate the sew machine engine noise.
lol you can try the honest abe exhaust mod that I mention, it will help a little bit by adding some more base. Alternatively you can look into aftermarket exhausts which are easy enough to install on this bike.
Do you happen to know off hand if all of this applies to the C50T? I have a 2008 C50T in great shape, but needs new tires and I wonder if that LED bulb will help too?
Yes of course. They both use a plain Jane H4 bulb.
so if I knock the baffles out does that mess with the air to fuel ratio
I would be more concerned with whether or not it messes with the backpressure to the motor
I'm here for my C50 mods... same bike...sort of.
To be honest, I've never worried much about fuel efficiency on that bike so I really can't tell you, sorry! Did you try it? How did it work out?
Did you know there's no fuse between the voltage regulator and ECU? Only the ignition switch. That's a thing worth fixing.
I've never needed to deal with that haha
@@YouMotorcycle yet
@@YouMotorcycle you ever had to deal with the drive shaft slip joint?
Nope, I never had anything go wrong on any of my M50s

I have a C50, a 2007. Love it but can't stand the positioning of the speedo. I wonder if the gauge on the M50 will plug into the C50? Or at least work with some wiring. I look at bikes from the 70's and 80's that have speedo, rpm, full temp gauge and more. Today you get a speedo and a gas gauge if you're lucky. Not to mention I've noticed on my C50 that past 40 mph the speedo reads 5 mph faster compared to an app on my phone, it's accurate i also compared to my car.
No surprise. Many motorcycles, especially slower ones, tend to show "exaggerated" speed readings.
Hey, love your vids. I was hoping to use some of the knowledge you have about the m50. I am about to buy 2009 m50 with 400 original miles that is not running. The bike hasn't been ridden for a long time. Great shape but I am thinking fuel delivery system. The bike starts with (started fluid spray) runs for few sex and dies. Could you help
Don't run old gas through it. Siphon the old gas out, put fresh gas in, see if the problem continues
cool. all good info on that. i have the older version called Marauder. i did some mods to it . belt drive and custom carb tune. also made the seat and barz and forwards. still looks stock. original paint still nice. i bought it brand new in 97. check it out at my channel.
Very cool mods. You've got more patience than most lol
What do you recommend for upgrading the brakes on the bike?
You could try better front brake pads, but, when's the last time you bled the brakes? Sometimes fresh brake fluid goes a long way, especially if you don't know the last time it was flushed. I have a video that shows you how to do it.
Hi ive seen after market and stock Pipes is ther a way to take thr o2 sensor off
Most dependable bike I have ever owned.
Pretty much bullet proof.
Just to be clear. The link to the tires in the description is already set to go to the correct size? Mine is a 2006, I'm gonna google it to be safe but if you want to respond, that'd be cool too. Thanks so much for the videos!!!
Hey, yes you got it.

170/80-15 for the rear: amzn.to/3MOuaD9
Happy to help!
Sweet! Thank you!!
I checked and the tires that are currently on mine are called Dunlap.
How about my Suzuki Intruder VS 600, it has carbs and no cat.... How do i get the best performance on that? its from 1995
Intake, jet kit, exhaust
I liked and subscribed
Thanks so much. Enjoy
I’m trying to buy one what’s the top speed
Slow, maybe just over 160 km/hr (100 mph)
I have an 04 suzuki volusia. Are these mods worth transferring to that as well?
You're the one who determines what is and isn't worth doing. If you don't care for sound, changing your mufflers is worthless, etc.
Do you happen to have any videos on pulling the carburetor and fixing floats on one of these?
No because they aren't carbureted and never have been. The carburetors were until 2004 for the marauder 800, which was replaced in 2005 by the m50. M50s were always carbureted
@@YouMotorcycle I have a 2007 that’s been sitting for a couple years and I’ve never worked on a bike so I’m just trying to figure out how to get it running and thought floats in the carb was the issue! Thank you for getting back to me
@@joshcody28 new battery, get all the old gas out (see my video here: th-cam.com/video/PYAnPKpqPh0/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=YouMotorcycle ) get new gas in, should fire right up. after that you'll want to turn it off quickly and put some fresh oil, filter, (I have videos on that), brake fluid (video on that too) and shaft drive fluid (video on that as well)
@@YouMotorcycle hey man! Appreciate your advice I got it to turn over and run if I give it a little gas but when I let off gas it chokes out immediately and gas comes out exhaust any idea on if it’s a serious issue?
It's for sure an M50, not an S50? M50 and C50 were fuel injected, S50 was carbureted.
Hey bro , I have 11700 kms on my irc rear tire and she’s wearing fast , what do you suggest for a long lasting tire mostly straight riding 2019 Suzuki m50 ps the bike is about 600lbs and I’m 6’6” 320 lbs , I think a good touring tire , if in Quebec give us a shout
I like the Metzeler ME 888s, but Pirelli makes a nice cruiser tire now too. You have plenty of better options than the stock IRCs, most tires from a good manufacturer will be an upgrade.
@@YouMotorcycle too late just got the Dunlop d404 seems good so far will see how long they last , thanks bro :) safe riding
Will all these work on a c50 too
Can't remember them all but I can't see why not off the top of my head
My boulevard m50 came with a different stock filter. What type do you have on yours ?
a different stock filter? do you mean a different aftermarket air filter?
So I’ve got an issue, my oil light is on but I have full oil. Bikes got 8,000 miles.
Have you read your owner's manual? Is it an oil level light or an oil pressure light? The two aren't the same.
Hi. I have a 2005 C 50 Boulevard. It will start and run for 2 minutes then shut down everything - engine, lights, etc no power to anything. If it sits for a few minutes it will start and run for another 2 minutes. I am baffled by this. Can you offer any advice? Thanks.
Is the fan coming on?
Can we do all this on the C50?
Absolutely. They are in large part the same bike.
can you debaffle a 2019 m50 without any issues. it seems everything that I would like to do to my 2019 (specifically) becomes a long flippin project.
You could. I wouldn't recommend it.

9 times out of 10, what are you servicing?
@@YouMotorcycle cheers for your prompt reply... much appreciated .. I have a 2008 Boulevard C50, 14 years old... it only has 5000miles(8000klms) on it.. it hasn't been touched in 8 years (500miles in 8 years) , the previous services were simply oil changes... I have a disease in my back and riding became very uncomfortable, I would start it up twice a year and ride it around the block... I want to do a full service on it, every bit of fluid replaced etc... I'm no mechanic, but am more than capable of servicing my own cars etc.. your videos on showing how to service the boulevard has me considering to do the full service myself instead of using a shop... Thank you for your videos man... Im 49, my Dad when he retired bought us one each... I will never sell it... I have recently been using THC/CBD oils to help with my back, it has worked immensely, so much so that I started up my bike and took it for a 20mile ride... Bike still looks and runs as new... My back feels fine after the ride, so stoked... So I want to give it some serious love, full service, do I need to pull out the shaft also?... I would also like to ask if I should replace the tyres, plenty of tread, but being that they are 14years old would the rubber be hard?... Any input you can offer is appreciated man, I cant thank you enough... respects, JM...
I have a video on knowing whether or not to replace tires th-cam.com/video/L_w9f_IBiWg/w-d-xo.html - but long story short, tires that old should be replaced. I would drain or pump out the old fuel, change the shaft drive fluid (I have a video for that) and change theoil and filter (I have a video for that too), and the brake fluid (I have a video showing how to do it on an S40, basically the same), after that just ride it and enjoy it :)
Sadly many of these Mods wouldn't be street legal in Germany. Especially the exhaust mod.
Yikes. That sucks!
How do you add the extra front disc / brake???
You can't without changing the front end. At least the fork lowers if you can find something that fits, otherwise the whole front end. Probably not worth it.
my shifter will not go in to 3rd gear 1st and 2nd fine hard to shift what going on it c50t 2006
Is your shifter and/or linkage bent? When did this start happening. Might be time to open things up if you can't see any issues on the outside.
@@YouMotorcycle it seemed like the burs on shifter rod moved but when I took it off it was not damage or bent I think it is the spring on shifter fork or something else I can not find anything on this on line and the Haynes Book is poor and covers everything and other bikes and refers back to other thing in another chapter - do recommend any specific tech books or websites get info one question do you have to remove clutch to the shifter rod

the barking system is the exhaust , the skidding system is the brakes! LOL!

@@YouMotorcycle сегодня видел другое видео,где человек говорит что нельзя просто пробивать глушитель,что это приведет к потере мощности!? что скажете?
@@ОхотаиРыбалкапокайфу Drilling out the baffles can remove back flow to the motor, which could lead to loss of power. Just puncturing a narrow hole to let a little more sound out shouldn't have negative impacts. If you think about the way an aftermarket exhaust is (open all the way through), the stock pipe with a hole punched through the plates will still have more backpressure to the engine than aftermarket pipes will, and no one worries too much about losing power when putting those on.

There are a lot of C50/M50 forums and facebook groups. You can try asking the people there. They might know more than me, I have not owned a M50 for a few years now. Last I checked, everything was okay. If you ask about doing the "honest abe exhaust mod" they should know what you mean :)

IRC isn’t a bad tire. Production tires always suck. I have a set and these are some of the best tires I’ve ever used
Time to raise your standards!
I have this bike, it’s crap. Once you hit 50mph, you want another gear, except it’s not there, it’s never there….
What oil are you running in it and when's the last time you changed your engine and gear oil?
@@YouMotorcycle Synthetic, I change all fluids every 3 months, love working on bikes. I guess I shouldn’t be so harsh, the bike isn’t “Crap.” It’s a great bike. The c50 800 is just a bit too small and it doesn’t like the highway that much. I’d much rather have the Boulevard Boss, now THATS a perfect-ish bike with 0 complaints. Rather have that than almost any Harley.
