Any opposing manager who forces Pep to sub KDB at half term deserves another go!!
57 minutes
@@davidbuthlay4368 Still significant mate, this is KDB we're talking about in a final and he wasn't injured.
ETH studied the Madrid and the Arsenal game. He knew what to do in this game
KDB IS not good when the opposition parking the bus
@@21DMNparked the bus? United played City off the park first half
I can't believe a Talksport host who has a nuanced and fair view of ten Hag!
I’m genuinely astonished
Never thought I would ever say this but Cundy is brilliant here. One of the only few pundits who seems to be fair with ETH FA cup final tactical performance
The lack of disrespect shown towards Eric Ten Hag by mainstream media is a joke isn’t it. Everybody should be waxing lyrical about about how much of a tactical masterclass it was from Ten Hag in the final but instead it’s mostly just been the same old noise about him getting sacked. They’re absolutely obsessed with trying to sack him, I’ve never seen anything like it.
Why, specifically, was it good tactically?
@PsychMohammed.......I never thought I would [ever!] say it too about Cundy - but yes, his analysis is excellent here. However, I am not sure that Man City were as poor as many of these pundits claim - I personally feel that Man Utd made them look poor.
im a newcastle fan and thought man u deserved the result they played on man city slow build up even with low possesion they controlled the game, i know we are out of europe because of it but cant complain outstanding
Hats of to you sir.
Hats of to you!! It takes a real man acknowledging this ❤

Wouldn't expect anything else from a Newcastle fan. Proper football people
Best of luck toon👍⚽️ respect
Tremendous final ,most enjoyable in years fair play united
Ten hag literally gave the rest of the league the blueprint on how to beat City.
Defend the space and hope City make mistakes and don't perform? That's been the blueprint on how to beat every top team in existence.
Alcohol the night before beat City !
pep is still a master and ten hag is still a clown
Are you kidding!? Mourinho did that years ago!
Spot on.
Many many say that Ten Hag isn't tactical yet he completely got his tactics absolutely bang in against City to the point City didn't know what to do. We fully deserved that win. Just goes to show that Pep & City can be out thought & beaten. I'm glad someone has given Ten Hag praise for his tactics cos barely any one has. Many are more concerned regarding his future
I've never seen Pep absolutely bricking it, he had no clue what to do.
So he gets his tactics right in a game, yet you have fans for Man U literally hating his tactics throughout the season…? I’m confused as hell. 😂
@Deano-Dron81 when you don't have a fully fit squad for most of the season, it's obviously going to look like there's no tactics. You spend an entire week preparing a team for a game and out of the blue you suddenly get 2/3 injuries and all that preparation has been hindered and you're back to square one. He near enough had his strongest first team bar luke shaw on Saturday and it showed, united bossed that game.
@@sallahudinmehuddin8046 and shaw.s replacement, Dalot played a blinder.
ETH schooled Pep...let that sink in.
Anybody who thinks it was just a case of "parking the bus" and nothing else is clueless, there were so many little things that made a huge difference tactically and most importantly taking your chances when they came.
Utd even had more shots on target than city.
Absolute tactical masterclass.
LOL!!! Please don't go overboard for one result. Guardiola habitually has brain farts in cup competitions, which inexplicably makes him come up with bizarre team selections and tactics that are self-defeating. This FA Cup final is yet another example of it.
@@lonelyboy1977 I'm not, I'm calling it like it was, utd nullified city completely 🤷
That's irrelevant, pep is still the most prolifically successful manager in the modern era and was the reigning FA cup champion before the game.
Everything was against utd prior to the match (injuries, fitness, form, low confidence) yet ETH's tactics were spot on.
@@philbarton2832 You make it sound like Ten Hag had the option to try other tactics. This United team can *ONLY* play one way, which is to let the opposition dominate possession of the ball then try to hit them on the counter-attack. That's why United are the only team in the Premier League this season to make Sheffield United look like a good team.
And keep in mind that the last manager to benefit from a Guardiola brain fart (Thomas Tuchel in the Champions League) didn't exactly have a successful time with Chelsea after that. And since that gifted victory he has proven himself to be the Hans Christian Anderson fairytale I've been saying he is for years, even though the media keeps insisting he is an elite manager.
@@lonelyboy1977 Weird 🤔 because I could have sworn he played more openly against Liverpool in the cup and beat them.
By your logic man city can "ONLY play one way" because pep didn't change tactics all game.
@@philbarton2832 If by "played more openly" you mean United had no choice but to chase after the game while they were losing, then yes. And, frankly, Liverpool lost that match more than United won it, unless you think allowing opposition teams to have 30+ shots against you every single game is a good blueprint for winning matches. The look on Ten Hag's face at the end of the game said it all: he was visibly shocked that Liverpool let his team off the hook.
But, anyway, as a United hater I truly hope Ten Hag gets a 20 year contract extension, so United fans can find out what it's like to go 30 years without winning a league title.
I thought ambrabat was fantastic also great tactics from ten Haag
Cundy speaks more sense than anyone else on this show
Well there is only two of them
That's hard
He does not, never have he ever said anything that makes sense on this show
Not always but this time, yes he does 😂
he had some clangers when talking about Utd last season but I think like most Chelsea fans, they've been worn down by turbulent times and have a bit more sense when it comes to manager patience
CUNDY!! Best piece of analysis I have seen him give. 😂❤
Verane & Martinez partnership makes a massive difference. The problem: Martinez gets injured a lot & Verane is leaving.
One of the biggest miss of MUFC. We suffered a lot this season due to the loss of that partnership. It nullified the significance of Onana and our ability to play from the back and pass through the middle.
ETH kept telling the media, but the media had their agenda
This was clearly the issue we had. The instability at the back.
I think I’d take the fa cup over finishing second
Its interesting how far United’s expectations have fallen. I’m sure Arsenal fans prefer competing for the title
@@philbourne548they can keep their second place trophy. We’ll keep winning a trophy every season with ten hag 👍🏼
@@philbourne548Nobody will remember Arsenal finishing 2nd in 4 years. However, the winners of the FA Cup have their name etched on the trophy forever.
@@Powerbox1998 Exactly, that’s my point. United are now happy being a cup side
@@philbourne548 what does that make Arsenal then? 😂😂
If you sack a manager that's won two trophies in two years, then football has gone mad. I'm 55. I've lived and supported United through all good and bad times. Modern expectations are a little bit crazy to me.
Games against Barcelona were his best.
City tactics:
1st half-cross to Haaland
2nd half-pass to doku
Pep is just the Catalan Sean Dyche
Sack Eth get who?
Pep could be manager of manu next season and would have a similar outcome
Just a pity we didn't have that same hunger all season. But loved it on Saturday 🔥🔥🔥
Same -hunger- ❎
Same *lineup* ✅
And to that I'd say we didn't have the needed personal all season. ETH kept telling us that but the media wanted none of it.
Varane and merteniz was the difference!!!
@@Q.Me601you spent millions you have no excuse
@scottking869 when ETH arrived, we had nothing! We were a mess. We needed '"Heart surgery." ETH had no option but to get into the market. I'd admit that some of his signings haven't worked out as he may have wanted, but every manager makes mistakes. You don't get 100% all the time. Plus, the price tag on some of his signings i.e Anthony isn't his fault but the useless board.
Arteta finished 8th in his first two years, first he got only 58 points the next 61…. Let’s not pretend he didn’t get a massive chance
When Kyle Walker leaves or retires replacing him is crucial for Man City
The amount of times United would’ve been clean through if it wouldn’t have been for walkers recovery pace was unbelievable
it's amazing just how well Kyle secures City's right flank even at the age of 34
ETH DONE GREAT IN FIRST SEASON! DESERVES ANOTHER SEASON
Done great 😂😂😂
It's not his first season .. casuals 😂
Lmao 8th good season yeh
@@lieutenantwolf5437 ten hag is fraud,he should be jailed
@@kol9382 yeah in his first season he done great.. second season poor.but ended it with a fa cup against pep.
First season 3rd place
80% unbeaten in league at home
2 cup finals made and q cup won.
Secind season finished 8th but won fa cup so essentially he finished 6th because that wins europa league but been plagued with injuires.
He deserves one more season to see if he can turn league form round 100%
Put some respect on Ten Hags name.
It was a GENIUS team selection and plan.
Peps a chequebook bald fraud.
Erik is a bald GENIUS.
I think there might have been a lingering doubt from the players about ETH tactically before that cup final. That final win has proven to the players and staff around him that he can lead this team to success. The League cup last year was a wild ride and we beat a fledgling Newcastle. This victory against City, when the media had literally written you off the whole lead up before the game and the club looking to sack the manager I think this has galvanized the squad. Keep ETH and back him financially going forward.
I’ve never heard so many words without a coherent sentence being formed. Cundy could run for PM
Respect to Jason Cundy with this analysis. Spot on.
Cundy first time watching you and respect 🫡
The fact KDB got hooked off by the hour mark, explains everything!

Arsenal and man utd are on different parts of their journey.
If Arsenal finished 8th this season after challenging last season even with the FA cup would be a huge step backwards .
For man united for the season they’ve had and where they are as a club the FA Cuo and 8th place is a good.
It felt like we dismantled them. Especially with Mainoos goal and City having to take KDB off at half time
Winning the FA cup is better than 2nd. Ole and Jose finished 2nd with United, and what did that do for their careers and for united as a club?
According to Mr Google Utd had 45 separate injuries this season .possible a record , Meanwhile City have lost 41% of their games without Rodri ,one player. Yes its definitely time to sack Ten Hag .What a joke the media has become.
thank you!
why wasn't there all this when klopp came 8th ??
Because United are a much bigger beast than Liverpool, whether people like it or not..
@@josephgilbert9697 Because it's Man Utd...
A master class having Casimero and Maguire injured
Now yes,there's something in that.
Never really liked Maguire, but he has done way better the second part of the season compared to the last season.
Wow the sheep are still critisicing Maguire huh. If they actually watched the games this season they'd know Maguire has been one of utds best performers along with Bruno and Mctominay.
Stop echoing what you hear from social media and use your own eyes
The way ETH set United up in the FA cup final would have suited Maguire. Harry Maguire struggles playing in a high line with space behind.
@@philbarton2832he’s been okay, nothing more nothing less. Still not good enough for United and a poor signing for 80m

His passport defends him, he has been jogging all season but he wont get sold
Slow. Our man is mostly like that, he’s dead on when he comes from the bench😹😹😹😹😹😹
His analysis on the game was spot on and that's exactly what Eric Ten Hag said in the post match conference that Utd got an idea how to play when they went to Etihad the last time. And this time worked because of the personel and squad he got. He got Martinez and Varance back as well as Amrabat came into form. Ramas coming on as a sub to Rashford says it all. Rashford didn't offer anything in the second half but Ramas physically got the better off all Man City defenders.
"Ramas"??

Give him one more time
With the right players the way he wants to play is what we need. This whole "give him another year" is crazy. Keep him. Why change then we start over again different tactics, different set up different kind of players. Then the new coach is back to square one "I need my kind of players" There goes another 2 seasons. Aren't you tired of this? We need one manager and be patient. I am sick of changing and we start over every again. We are not what we used to be we have to put that in our heads. We are not that team anymore. (Sharp, AIG, AON, Vodafone days) we are mid table team.
Ah sure it's only feckin brilliant seeing the two lads back together for a spell 😁
I pray Inios get the transfer Erik needs, we need depth and competition for every position. We have all seen when Erik has fit and able players we can beat anyone. Even city
Keep ten hag and sign 2 or 3 cbs on the martinez /varane type quality and a new LB.. yes we have been shite but you cant build a solid foundation on the pitch when you are rotating the pieces in the backline every game due to injuries
It took Alex Ferguson 4 years to win his first trophy at Man Utd.
He was coaching in an era in which several clubs in the English top flight had great teams. Today there is only one club that can put a great team on the field, so there is much less competition.
@@lonelyboy1977 United finished 13th in 1990, 3.5 years after Fergie joined the club. They won the FA cup that year. How many great teams does it take to finish 13th?

Ten Is The Man give him time, he can do it. Congrats with the FA Cup Man U 😁
United fans: how do you feel about having an owner who gives a warm embrace to the manager of your arch rivals then shows contempt for the guy who just won him the FA Cup?

His name is Rat after all so maybe he should have been born a scousa
We also played some really nice football too; great one touch passing, great team play. Fully deserved outcome
He seems to forget we had our season highest points tally last season since moruinho 2nd place and then sir Alex before him

Winning the FA cup isnt better than finishing 2nd 😂😂😂.. goldstein is a mug. I'd take a trophy all day long
It was a masterclass. Well done Ten Hag and Utd 🏆🏆
United have been preparing for that final for like 3 weeks...City thought it would be a walk in the park
Don't care, best final for years. Most finals are a snooze fest. Two top teams sitting back trying to nick a goal.
Masterclass my a$$. If this guy knew how to come up with a masterclass plan, he wouldn't be 8th in the league. Having said that, please sign him for another 10 years.
You're just not too bright
@@jamiesimms7084 And your team, despite all the millions spent, finished 8th in the league! Great tactics envious neighbours.
For the nerds who don’t think United figured City out, just look at the build-up for Mainoo’s goal. It started with a headed clearance from Dalot as City were attacking, and then we literally scored within 20 seconds.
That goal sums up perfectly what ten Hag wants his team to do. Absolutely carved an elite City side up and they were too slow to react.
amrabat along side mainoo would be deadly, two totally different players filling different roles
I love when people say what is ten hag style first year was his style and most clean sheets 3rd and a cup 8th and fa cup final win was his style so people don't understand football that's on you rebuild take 3,5 years not 2 yrs take 5 of any top 4 teams back 4 and leave that with 1 cb and no lb and see were they come in the league. we need united to sign 2 cb 1 lb 1 lw 1 cm 1 st then see what happens next season
Well said
In the last 3 weeks, Goldstein has gone from wanting Ten Hag to stay, then wanting him gone and now wanting him to stay again 🙄
I think Goldstein’s secretly an Arsenal fan, he’s obsessed with them
Ten Hah tactically out maneuvered Pep and it is put aside as a one off game. 😂
Winning the FA cup is better than finishing second
Cundy praising ETH for once, surely he's staying now
Manchester City weren’t terrible, ok they didn’t play great but you have to give so much credit to United & ETH for getting the tactics spot on, keeping compact & hitting them on the counter..
My question is. Wasn't he already known for his tactical knowledge of the game from what he did last season, or is that all forgotten? Nothing in life that has to do with constructing a project will go without ups and downs, especially when people are involved because we are all difficult to deal with. Therefore time is needed and proper management and togetherness and focus and drive and energy in order to get success. Clear out is needed for this venture.
I have to say I've had mixed feelings throughout the year with Ten Hag. But now I have to say that his tactics were absolutely spot on. Give him time and the RIGHT players he will take ManU to the top. If you can remember Alex Ferguson during his early years as manager copped a load of criticism from the press and supporters.
Keep eth please!! We can win the league next year Cmon united❤
ETH IN !!!
As a Utd fan of 40 years, it saddens me to see how our standards have gone South. For some fans to be happy with this season is appalling. With the exception of winning a cup We have been a total disaster from start to finish, just look at the stats. City were in total control of the game and we were lucky to even get the first goal. If Haaland's shot hadn't hit the bar, the game could have ended differently. Tactical masterclass my foot. It was more hit and hope football all season long!
With the money in football nowadays every football club are more competitive .trophies are getting harder to come by for any club and Ten Hag has the nak of winning them stick with him 👍
Why does no one mention arsenal finishing 8th twice in a row and sticking with arteta?
He hash still to goooo!!!🎉🎉🎉
Great tactical performance my butt!!!🙈🙈🙈
Exactly you had your eyes closed so you don't need to comment
Its not even his best tactical game at United. Games against chelsea, spurs and barca (all last season) were absolute blueprint of what he wants to play. His adjusments in the second half of carabao final were very good. He is a great coach with a most difficult job in the world football. He needs time. ETH in !!!!
Ps.
3 finals and two cups after two seasons is very good for a club trophyless previous 5seasons
Only managers who could come in would be Anchelotti or klopp and that will never happen as for Southgate’s or the Ipswich manager 😂😂 behave look at potter when he went to Chelsea
ETH definitely needs to stay
All you have to do is make sure their arsenals centre backs are injured. Then they are struggling to get top 4. They had no significant injuries
Football genius he came up with the 11 at the back formation.
And your point is?
@@andrewdinatale8207he needed to say something
If 11 at the back makes you comfortably 2-0 up for most of the game then he really is a football genius
It's not that he played defensive its how they played defensive. Almost every team sits back against city and this was including Madrid. The point in tucking in Bruno as a false 9 to overload the midfield making it a 4 stack allowing AWB to go 1v1 against Gvardiol and Dalot 1v1 vs Bernado seriously cut the entire blood flow of their team.
They had 1 shot in the first half
Last year he made a lot of clever tactical changes, particularly mid game, but we’ve all forgotten because hes been so bad this time round
With the biggest injury list in the Premiership.
What was his answer at the end ?
Utd are a soccer franchise and they need to do what's best for their business. The players and managers are employees. Just like they don't interfere in our business or have a say in our lives.. we, the people, shouldn't interfere in theirs. For instance, I don't see people comment or discuss who they should hire for their marketing or R&D department.
United owners have already shown they don’t trust the manager by going behind his back and speaking to other managers. Even if Ten Hag stays, he will be on borrowed time. They aren’t convinced by him and as soon as he has a bad run of form he’ll be gone. It’s like when Abramovic have Di Matteo the chelsea job. He had to keep him because he won 2 cups but he didn’t really want to. Got rid of him soon as he had an excuse early on in the next season
Evertonian here. ETH has shown ALL of us how to play against City. Spray the ball around; they were like headless chickens. It was like watching Michael Jordon take off from the by-line and just watch, hilarious. They had no idea what to do hehehe, brilliant.

I never quite understand how you can say loosing (finishing 2nd) is better than the FA cup.
Amrabat had 93% pass completion and not for the first time recently. He's not expansive, but the idea he's poor on the ball is a myth
Winning a trophy is by faaaaarrrrr better than finishing second , you don’t get anything for second
The only cup that makes one deserve another chance after that season is the Champions League Big Ear cup (maybe the Europa League also). Good for winning the FA Cup but paper over cracks.
We provided many “masterclasses” last season then 😂🤦♂️, as did Ole…it was sitting back and completely relying on counter attacking. And we had our best centre back pairing, that’s it
Always Manchester United 🔴🔴🔴
Even a broken clock is right twice a day!!
In ETG we trust 😊👍
It wasn't a masterclass. It was how EtH has played all year. The issue all year has been playing a low block, while trying to press from the front - creating gargantuan amounts of space in the midfield. The only difference in this game is that City play such a high line, that United's forwards were forced back - forcing them to be closer to their defenders (ie. more compact and less space in the middle). This coupled with the fact that it was an FA Cup final vs neighbours, so they got a bit more g'd up. Masterclass? Sadly, not.
What is this "its a one off game"? Last i checked the FA Cup is a season long grind and United beat every team in front of them not named Manchester City too. Jesus the wobble. By that logic then every league game is a one off and you should prepare like it.
Beat Liverpool too so defeated two of the best teams in Europe.
So what if United keeps ten Hag and he wins the Europia league but finish say 6th in the Premier League next season? Winning the FA Cup or the Europia league is better than coming second without any trophy. Manchester United season was more successful than Arsenal in consecutive years.
Winning fa cup is better than finishing second. It's a massive cup. English people should have more sense
what are you waffling by the best tactical game of his career?? did u see what he did to Zidane and Real Madrid in the UCL quarters? at the bernabeu???
They keep saying “Arsenal will win it next season” same old story every year
People are going mad about this, there’s more coverage on this than Man City winning the treble.. the bias is hilarious.
Who would be the best man for the job, if Ten Hag is fired?
if we had martinez and varane all season we would have finished top 4 again
