XK / WLToys A220 P40 Warhawk

A detailed look at the XK A220 P40 Warhawk 4-channel micro RC. A tough little airplane which unfortunately has a 6G stabilizer that limits the plane too much. Can be flown with no stabilization with no wind but I wouldn't recommend it for beginner pilots. It's a choice between lack of or too much control. Makes a good base for mods to the electronics and power train.

I have found a flaw in the design.
The cut-out in the center of the elevator for the rudder to move left and right in was made too narrow for some reason. The rudder can only move 5-7 degrees before striking the elevator and possibly binding-up one or both and causing a crash.
I modded my elevator by enlarging the cut-out area to fix this factory flub. You can see my modded plane here: th-cam.com/video/BLXXy68NFgs/w-d-xo.html

A solid preflight would have discovered that before it took to the skies.

@@Doggeslife ive found stranger things on preflight after spending hours building an arf .ive missed things on pre flight and picked up parts for it.
Ive definitely had to enlarge triangle opening on elevator or rudder before. At least you got it and fixed it before it was too late.
It happens . Its part of our wonderful hobby.

@@Doggeslife yea i never trust any rtf airplanes . In the 25 ish years since they became the norm ive not once found one really ready . Lol.
Hanger 9 stuff was really bad as was seagull models.
I always go over them with fine tooth comb and its scary what isn’t done correctly or done half assed.
I don’t remember the company but I remember picking up an arf that was stick build up covered in printed foam sheeting which looked super detailed only to have the entire flywall fly off on very first stall turn.
Ruined a very reliable and expensive O.S FOUR STROKE engine.
Come to find out it was only glued to 4 1/4 inch stringers with CA glue . One for each side of the firewall.

Have either of them actually shipped? By that I mean the tracking number shows that they have left China not the fictitious "Your shipment has been shipped" notice against your Banggood order? Also waiting on the A220.

Nice video.
Bummed that they gave it such an ugly cowl and bulbous-looking spinner, but I have one on order anyway. Mine will receive a brushless motor and a receiver with AS3X so I can fly aerobatics on windy days with it. I've upgrade almost all of my micro birds this way. Improves them 1000%.
