I've been learning about Windows OS since Windows for Workgroups 3.11 with DOS 6.2 in late 1999. I've worked with every version of Windows since. We've come a long way from the early 90's. I'm partly self-taught and went to 2 years of Computer Science classes in college. I was going to get my Comp TA certification but didn't. I don't consider myself a tinker, and you have kept me up on the new technology and information I find useful. For that again I thank you. Doing this for 24 years. 🤠👍✌I'm the family PC Tech when they have a question or an issue. Not so much anymore because of the Smart Phones now. My niece call's me Uncle Geek!
I just purchased two G3s at 31 dollars a piece! They are both 65 watt bare bones so I have to build them out, including the internal wifi/bt. I already have two G2s, one 35 watt and one 65 watt. The great thing with the G2 and G3 is that you can swith the memory and CPU from one to another. They both use DDR4 memory and the G3s can use either 6th or 7th gen intel CPUs. You can actually take a preexisting NVME or SSD, that has an OS already installed, and put it in another machine and it will automatically read as if it was the computer you took it out of. The only thing I had to order was another 90 watt ps because I only had the one and, of course, the 65 watt systems use a higher wattage ps!...
Hey Carey, I just wanted to say thank you.
I used to watch your channel a long time ago, and to be honest had completely forgotten as time has marched ever onwards. You were integral to my development and interest in IT as a career, you were part of me building a computer the first time, and providing practical and useful knowledge. The last time I watched a video of yours was probably 8 years ago, yet here you are in my feed after what I assumed to be a long hiatus.
Come to find out, you had been making videos the whole time and seem to have done well at nearly 400k subscribers. I appreciate you, and the knowledge you provided to a teenage youth that you never knew.
Kind regards.
I did not realize you are about the same age as me. I started with a VIC 20 and a Time X Sinclair. I have been working with Technology for nearly 35 years. I really enjoy your videos. You have a very practical approach.
Late to the game, but thanks for the honesty and integrity you project. As an IT guy, I know how unscrupulous techs can take advantage of people who aren't knowledgeable about tech. Great advice and great topics! Keep up the good work!
Thanks for the video. Getting ready to do this on this computer. I'm familiar with all the processes within, but a little dry run never hurts so I know what to expect. Using the machine primarily as a retro console emulator but will set up dual boot so I can leave Windows as an option to use in a pinch.
Thanks Carey for another educational video. Blessings!
Hi Carey: Great bunch of very helpful information. Things I thought that I knew but ,you made it worry free, Thank You for everything.
Hey Carey, am I seeing things or is that the mini pc you sent me? The one with the silver and black front? Serial number matches mine. If so its still running strong and it surprises me how fast this little booger is. Thanks again!!!
Hard to tell. There are about 20 of them I have sent out that are all identical.
Excellent tutorial
Thanks for the video, Is it true that Windows Home doesn't include Sandbox and you can't download and install it on Windows Home? I am just an amateur computer enthusiast and have built a few computers in my time since 1990; I started off with a Sinclare and a Commodeor 64; the old days when we had computer markets which are no longer happening over here in Australia. I did a 2-year course in Melbourne on repairing and building computers and qualified as a computer repairer; I am not a computer technician because I have no Electrical qualifications and I am not permitted to repair the power supply (legally) in a computer but I can replace an existing power supply. I have never worked professionally as a computer repairer and have only done work for myself and some friends. I haven't worked on the hardware side of computers for a couple of years now but try to keep up with the software; 90% of my experience is with PCs but have dabbled in Apple occasionally. I still find computers fascinating.
Great show as always, keep up the good work
At 1:50 you tell them Carey!! They just don't get it, obsessed with other things as you said doesn't MATTER!!! As you have said check your filter's at least once a month. Common Sense Right? LOL Later 🤠Some content on TH-cam is helpful, but some of the advice isn't worth listening to. They think the creator is informed and knows what they are saying. Well like you I question stuff.
Great video. thanks JD do u sell mini pc
What is your budget and what are you looking for?
Lol, man I love your videos, I learn something new every time, keep up the great work. 😊
