Hi PB, London plumber here. Emergency call-out on a Saturday is easily £180+Vat/hr. No point the job is 45 min each way, 10min total plus the £2.50 for the fitting. Travel time is a must in consideration. I wont get out of bed for less than £250 for that. I have been doing this for 20 years already.
I'm a joiner, if I got called out on a Saturday night for a 10 minute job and charged £150 + vat I'd get told to f@#k off but if a plumber or electrician charges that customers won't bat an eye lid, I've been in the game 38. Years and it's always been the same.
I think the main reason is a lot of our work is classed as an emergency, water thru the ceiling, no heating on a cold day or no hot water, customers want you straight over to fix it anytime of day/night. Nobody is going to call you at 9pm on a Saturday night and ask you to whip up a dovetail joint. Your trade is a highly skilled craft tho, so you should be able to charge for that
You need excel to prepare an average take into account time, London is not the same as North West, I had a sandwich & drink of tea in London so I was picked up from the floor when I handed my £20 over 😮
Propress fittings have a 50 year warranty, and there's obviously something wrong with the speed fit. And I personally would trust propres more. And it might be hard to tell the client that you just reattached the existing leaking fitting
These price videos are helpful for us plumbers. Keep doing them👍
Are you for real

If the speed fit wasn’t broken why not just push it back on.

Not worth risking a recall if it pops off again.
