6:02 I'm so glad you went to Fuji city, John. I went to that city last year on my Japan travels and many of those streets are still very familiar in my mind. I was actually staying in a nice hotel in Fujinomiya but Fuji is quite close. But in Fuji, I went to an open space called Gan Park and you get such a nice open view of the mountain. I saw locals walking their dogs and there are benches scattered around to rest at as well as a narrow and long concrete path. I stopped on one part of the path to take selfies of the mountain then a teenager stopped, got off his bicycle to speak with me. He was actually half Polish and Japanese and he said his Dad was working in Scotland. I found that quite a cool random combo. I told him I was Scottish and where exactly I am from there and it was nice to chat with him. These kinds of moments for me while I was in Japan really make me happy and sad at the same time.
when I lived in Japan as a child "I think it was Kanagawa or Atsugi. I forget now. I could see Fuji Yama from my back yard. So beautiful.

my Brother and I we were in 2019 in Fuji City. This town is so Amazing.... Go to the beach the😅 "Anti Tsunami Wall" so you have the pacific behind you und the Fuji and the town in Front of you. The only think what you need in this Situation is a Camara, and something to eat Form 7/11😅 and something to smoke. Damm we were so Happy in this Moment. Thanks Japan❤️
Love fruit 🍎 so would really enjoy visiting the fruit shop oh and the coffee ☕️ shop. I could definitely live there but not sure if my teenage daughter would like it. Beautiful views of Mount Fuji 🗻 Thanks 😊

Such a cool place, love the old family owned businesses on the shotengai. Only In Japan (with John Daub) would you see the juxtaposition of Mt Fuji, and a cemetery behind themed snack bars.

Shin-Yokohama, where the Ramen Museum is located in, is an interesting place. It shows that high-speed rail can create a new, thriving downtown if done properly, well-integrated with the local transportation network, all while not causing the old downtown to slide into decline (Yokohama Minamisaiwai in this case). The same with Shin-Osaka and Osaka Umeda, Shin-Kobe and Kobe Sannomiya, Shinagawa and Tokyo Marunouchi, and Hachinohe and Hon-Hachinohe. Hopefully, Shin-Fuji, Shin-Hakodate Hokuto, Shin-Aomori, Shin-Shimonoseki, Shin-Tosu, Shin-Omuta, Shin-Tamana, Shin-Yatsushiro, Shin-Minamata, Joetsumyoko, and Shin-Kurobe can get their own unique ekimae downtowns in the future.
The West should take note of this with their middle-of-nowhere HSR stations. See Ashford International and Ebbsfleet International. At least they (the UK) should try to build malls and offices around the station.

I would love to revisit Fujinomiya but no time on this trip. I’ll be back for a visit in 2021 for sure. I’ll see about visiting Honcho.

Hes at john daub only in japan now. The company that owns the other channel wanted to go a different direction than john wanted to go, so they split. The wao ryu only in japan channel host is now dave trippin (who im a fan of as well)
