Thank you so much for making videos like these, I could literally feel the amount of effort you put in to make this just by watching the video. Excellent stuff, this is exactly what I pay my internet bills for.

Hi Ana, thank you so much for your appreciation! This is not the last part, there is at least a Part 3 coming, but I've been postponing it with the many other uploads that got in the way. Hopefully I'll do that in 2024. Thanks again and wish you the best!

@@Ben-bu2jg Hey, I've replied to your other comment, so I'll paste the answer here as well:
Hey Ben! Landscape in the Mist has been released on DVD by New Yorker Studio, in 2005, if I'm not mistaken. The DVD however is out of print and seems quite difficult to find. Curzon Artificial Eye released a series of three volumes with the works of Angelopoulos and you should be able to watch Landscape in the Mist on Volume 2. It appears also that the film is available on Amazon Prime/Prime Video, however you must be from the USA to watch it, I think. Hope this helps.

The quality of your videos is always mesmerizing. I truly appreciate your work and your wholehearted devotion for cinema. I am also curious as to where you found the high-definition clips, since Angelopoulos' films have not received any remastered versions that I know of. Again, thank you and kudos!

Hey Raul, thank you so much for your appreciation, I'm thoroughly glad you have enjoyed my videos and the effort I put into them. Concerning the HD clips of Angelopoulos, I have taken them from the Japanese Blu-ray versions done by Kadokawa Shoten, which are quite recently, hence why you were probably not aware of it. Hope that helps, cheers!

Just watched the film tonight. Although I appreciate and respect it, I feel I perhaps wasn’t in the right headspace for it to really resonate with me, but your analysis has opened me up to a different perspective on the work and deepened my appreciation of Angelopoulos’ filmmaking. I’m very fond of the other film of his I’ve seen, Eternity and a Day and found it to be very powerful emotionally. There is so much depth to his films.
I want to say that your video essays to me are the best on TH-cam and they’re indicative of a person truly devoted to the world/art of cinema. Always looking forward to your next uploads, as infrequent as they may be!
Edit: It would be very interesting to see you discuss the films of Béla Tarr which I’m quite familiar with and fond of. I think there’s a lot to cover with those if you have any interest.

Dear Illya, thank you so much for your comment. That is indeed the purpose of these essays, to entice viewers to open themselves to other perspectives and deepening interpretations and I'm glad this goal has been achieved with you, even though at first glance the film didn't touch you like others. Your words are too kind but I deeply appreciate them and it's highly gratifying to have people enjoy these videos after so much work has been put into them. And I definitely intend to talk about Tarr in the future, one of my absolute favourite directors. Cheers!
