    Brilliant essays brother.
    With the insights you have given so far about this film its now become an experience that is more whole and autobiographically complete.
    I am not a russian speaker nor was interestwd in Russia in general but was introduced to Russian culture present and past through Tarkovsky and Dosteyevsky. And to be honest my views about life have changed through these two people.
    One should not shy away from taking into account that orthodox christian roots and spiritual style of poetic imagery tarkovsky uses. After watching all of his films i am sure he was a deeply religious man.
    He is on the same realm as Maulana Rumi and muslim and orthodox mystics. Rumi's craft were words and his craft is Time itself. There can never be any other artist like Tarkovsky ever.
    Thanks again

      Thank you for your appreciation and impassioned response, dear Nabeel. I'm glad you have found these videos helpful or informative in some way. I too agree that Tarkovsky was an artist without comparison, with a very singular vision, and definitely a spiritual man. All the best to you my friend.

    I've always viewed this scene as a great satire of Soviet bureaucracy. Tarkovsky insisted he was working “in the tradition of Gogol” and this spirit is expressed powerfully with the looming portraits of Stalin and Dzerzhinsky like idols. Great work as always.

    • @PlanSéquenceFilmArt
      @PlanSéquenceFilmArt ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Ben. That's actually a very interesting perspective. Tarkovsky did indeed look up to Gogol and his biting satyrical tales, your interpretation is quite persuasive and likely to have been in his mind too whilst conceiving this scene. Cheers.

      Спасибо, мой друг. Хотя я не русский, я пытался интерпретировать дух Тарковского и считаю, что многое из того, что он проявляет в своих фильмах, универсально и поэтому понятно всем людям. Многое из этого определенно является специфически русским, но, в конце концов, этого великого художника любят и восхищаются во всем мире, потому что он говорил за всех, независимо от их национальной принадлежности. С наилучшими пожеланиями.
