At almost 30 years old, a fan of cinema for as long as I can remember, I think that the best movies and soundtracks of all time have already been made. It's a shame that there is no longer such a magical piece that makes you feel the sensation of touching your soul.
You're almost right, but Interstellar had an amazing soundtrack that made me emotional. And this year Gladiator 2 was up there for me as well as it had a similar soundtrack to Gladiator.
I absolutely love that movie for so many reasons. I love how the movie speaks for a person's will, about love and about things you sometimes have to go through. Keep your mind people! Never lose your free will and opinion. Never. That makes you, you ❤

This film is closely based on real events of Scottish independence from the United Kingdom and the battle of Bannockburn at the end where the Scot’s were outnumbered and won their freedom is a real historical event :) every Scottish person loves this movie including me! I’ve also been to the Wallace monument and saw his actual sword that he used in battle
@@simoncox9689 yes the movie is exaggerated as it is a Hollywood movie but there was a battle of Bannockburn fought for Scottish independence and also the military tactics displayed in the movie which led to the Scot’s victory of the English was real and was put in place by William Wallace the long spears to counter the English cavalry they were called schiltrons (probably bad spelling). There are a a lot of parts in the movie that are strongly related to Scottish history. Including the end where Wallace gets hung drawn and quartered and his body displayed throughout Scotland and England as a warning.
I would say he is above Zimmer. I can't think of a soundtrack that Zimmer composed that is quite this emotionally moving. I'm not bashing on Zimmer he is great but this soundtrack is great without Braveheart but I would find it difficult to say that Zimmers tracks are as great without the attached movie. @@ГаухарШакенова-ш9т

My Grandad fought in WW2 on Malta. I Served in N.I. Bosnia and then Iraque. Then found out I have a Child in Scotland. Now I don't even know myself!? Amazing music brings back so many good and painful memories for me, used this music when we got married at my dads funeral and will be listening to it again in June when we go up Ben Nevis and lay a memorial down for my daughter who passed last year! Holds so much emotion this music spurs you on through tough times when you need it and also makes you feel happy during the good times and most of all proud to be Scottish! 🏴

Every song with bagpipe sound, will remind me of this masterpiece. Its like live in my blood.
All of the bagpipe music in this soundtrack are actually Irish bagpipes, (known as uilleann bagpipes), and NOT the Scottish Great Highland Bagpipe that midst people are familiar with. Uilleann pipes are very different, much more mellow, have a two octave range, and can only be played while seated. Highland pipes are more brash, loud and possess only a 9 more range.
Every year there is one movie that wins the Oscar for best picture but few movies like Braveheart are remembered forever.
