    You don't have to take the under car engine bay whole plastic cover off. There are access points on that cover you just pop out the plastic tabs and there is the oil filter. A lot easier! Yes, the dipstick location is a pain in the ass.

      Thanks for that heads up. I was thinking that's a lot of bolts to remove.

    • @s.benedetto2147
      @s.benedetto2147 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not on the 2007 model. Mine has about 18 ten mm bolts to remove the whole cover, or else you can remove only four and then tie back the shield flap with some bungee cords. It's really easier to remove all the bolts to have more room to work.

    I changed the oil on my m35 a couple days ago. The biggest challenge for me was loosening the screws on my plastic guard. Seems some of the screw brackets have broken and some of the screws just spin.

    I’m no mechanics but I’d check for leaks before putting back the engine cover panel. Just saying ;)

    Would I use this same oil if my M35x is high on mileage (261,400) to be exact?

    • @jasonjohst48
      @jasonjohst48 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      High mileage

      Impressive, mine is 230,000 (since new). Have been some recent expensive repairs and it does drink oil now. But still running like a champ overall.

      Bradley Cross common issues. Tbh, mines at 200k+ and it’s at the point where I don’t care bout it that much cause I have a G37S coupe and QX56 when I have all my 20 kids. So I constantly have to add a quart or 2 every few weeks. At this point fuck the expensive oil and I use the cheap stuff. Waiting for that motors last day to either replace it or just get rid of the car.

    What about the transmission fluid change

    • @RelativeMartian
      @RelativeMartian  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I sold the car.. I didn't change the trans fluid though.. wish i could offer some advice I hope you get it

    • @j.servin
      @j.servin 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The drain for the transmission is about dead center under the car. There's a bolt under there that you can't miss.
      The dipstick for the transmission is between the plastic cover for the engine and the fire wall just left of center. There's a screw you've got to undo to get to the dipstick but once you locate it it's fairly easy.
      My advice would be to buy a funnel that has that flexible straw-luke attachment. It made my life much easier.

    So if I go full synthetic I have to stick to one brand of synthetic oil?

    • @pacific322
      @pacific322 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lo, no you don’t have too yet it’s recommended to not go back to semi-synthetic.

    Hey i have a question anyone know where the fuel filter for the 2006 infiniti m35

    • @JESUSISKING77742
      @JESUSISKING77742 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey I actually changed mine a few months ago, if you’re referring to the fuel pump it’s under the back seats. You would have to remove the backseats but it’s actually very simple. I don’t have much mechanical experience and was able to do it at 19. Look up Ed Bwoy on TH-cam he works on our cars and has tons of videos on how to’s. He has one on a fuel pump change

    • @cletuskasady593
      @cletuskasady593 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      He said fuel filter

  • @s.benedetto2147
    @s.benedetto2147 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    OK, first M35 model was 2006, not 2004. And the splash shield is more easily removed if you have a 10mm socket, 1/4 inch drive on a cordless drill. Makes the 18-20 bolts a snap. Overall a decent video.

    • @don-cw1yz
      @don-cw1yz 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You don't have to remove the splash cover. There is an access plastic section you just remove a few plastic pop in holders for the oil filter access.
