It's because they simply consider it to be a revenge prank after Spy turned Demoman into a Scout. Seeing that nobody (other than Scout) expected the Spy to turn into the sentry, the element of surprise was what elicited amusement from the RED team.
I would like to see Your Eternal Revenge in game. It would be interesting to see how Value makes it work. Maybe you could be damaged by both teams and it could carry after a few respawns.
I think I got a idea, instead of the usual knife for a kill, making a enemy stand in place for three seconds so you can get away after the stab, this knifes goal is mass confusion, stabbing a Blu or Red will make them appear as the reverse team to all their own members, and allowing friendly fire, it would be defeated easily by mic communication sadly as, all you need to say is "Im Blu, Im Blu!" or Red respectively, but it would still make a bit of annoyance, as all the side would need to constantly check in on each other, good mental wear down tactic Id think. Mostly a gimmick knife in all honesty but it would be fun I think.
You guys know it’s an actual knife right, it’s called ‘your eternal reward’ and it disguises you as your last kill and makes the person you stabbed silent and disappear. The downside is that when you use the disguise kit your cloak meter is fully emptied and has to be full to use

Congratulations on the 1 million for the previous upload to this! The animation is very well-done and the dialogue flows together really nicely. The expressions and pacing are also great. However, I didn't like the plot. Now, I'm biased - I'm tired of seeing the same Heroic Scout SFM videos, but there's nothing wrong with having a protagonist Scout. But the protagonist Scout here hasn't accomplished a real resolution to the initial problem. This doesn't seem like Demoscout has learned anything about being less selfish towards his teammates; he just learned how to play Scout. It seemed like he was working really well with them even as a Demoman in terms of skill, so what changed here? As Scout it seemed like his motive to help his team was realizing he had been pranked on by Spy, not because he saw that his team needed help. But why the hell couldn't he have done this as Demo? Why did it have to be Scout and why was learning how to be Scout so integral to his character development in terms of overcoming his selfishness? Spy's intentions might not have been the right way of approaching how he wanted to teach Demoscout a lesson, but I was lead to believe this was punishment for Demo being a douchewad - yet in the end, it seemed as though Spy was played out to be the antagonist even though his intentions (albeit a terrible way of going about it but I suppose that's the reason he's being played out to be the guy in the wrong here) were to try and show Scout how selfish he was being, as well as becoming the butt of his joke as a secondary karma. I wouldn't mind it if it didn't sit so uncomfortably with me that it basically means Spy didn't teach Demoscout anything in the end. I don't know - again, it's very well done and very smooth. But I personally have an issue with the story because of how it doesn't seem to make sense and it glorifies Demoscout as though all his old problems as Demo have been erased, rather than solved. Sorry for the tl;dr, but this video bugs me a lot because of that, and I'm sorry if I misunderstood anything the video was trying to tell me.
You've raised some really good points here. I completely agree with you, there's a bit of confusion over who is the protagonist and who is the antagonist. And yes, the Demoscout is still a jerk at the end, the only resolution is that he's learned how to be a scout. I guess its very hard to fit a good plot (like the ideas you suggested) in a five minute time frame. I think this video is already a little rushed, to be honest. So, yes, you're right, the story is rather messy and confusing when you think about it
The Winglet I think within that timeframe everything could have gone on as it was - up until the point where RED Team is losing and Demoscout finds the YER. An alternate suggestion to Unrellius' would be Scout actually taking the arrow, figures out he needs to survive, and runs off to find a medpack. But when he finds it and is about to use it, there could be something involving the Medic from before being gravely injured, and Scout realizing the Medic needs it more. This ties in with the beginning of the story when Demo steals Medic's chocolate. Before he has any time to think, they might get attacked, and Demoscout could have let Medic take the kit while rushing in and killing things or taking the hits. Medic in return could heal him (QF maybe?) and then with that settled Demoscout goes HAM and helps win the game for his team. The ending with Demoscout saying he's Scout now (although it'd be great if he could become Demo again and protect his Medic, but it might make more sense with Scout) and Spy turning into a sentry could still happen with this too. You might be pushing a few seconds that might need changes with this idea, but ultimately you could totally fit a good storyline within 5 minutes with the base of the story you've presented in this.
I thought this video was more about how even though the spy wanted to avenge the medic, by turning the demo into the scout, I think the lesson is that revenge always stabs you in the back. (geddit?)

Why didn't the Demo keep the Grenade Launcher as a Scout? High speed with such a high damage explosive would be ridiculously overpowered
The enemy team would notice his grenades were red, so they could easily figure out he was disguised.
Or maybe the Launcher was too heavy, considering he was a Scout.

Congratulations on the 1 million for the previous upload to this! The animation is very well-done and the dialogue flows together really nicely. The expressions and pacing are also great. However, I didn't like the plot.
Now, I'm biased - I'm tired of seeing the same Heroic Scout SFM videos, but there's nothing wrong with having a protagonist Scout. But the protagonist Scout here hasn't accomplished a real resolution to the initial problem. This doesn't seem like Demoscout has learned anything about being less selfish towards his teammates; he just learned how to play Scout. It seemed like he was working really well with them even as a Demoman in terms of skill, so what changed here? As Scout it seemed like his motive to help his team was realizing he had been pranked on by Spy, not because he saw that his team needed help. But why the hell couldn't he have done this as Demo? Why did it have to be Scout and why was learning how to be Scout so integral to his character development in terms of overcoming his selfishness?
Spy's intentions might not have been the right way of approaching how he wanted to teach Demoscout a lesson, but I was lead to believe this was punishment for Demo being a douchewad - yet in the end, it seemed as though Spy was played out to be the antagonist even though his intentions (albeit a terrible way of going about it but I suppose that's the reason he's being played out to be the guy in the wrong here) were to try and show Scout how selfish he was being, as well as becoming the butt of his joke as a secondary karma. I wouldn't mind it if it didn't sit so uncomfortably with me that it basically means Spy didn't teach Demoscout anything in the end. I don't know - again, it's very well done and very smooth. But I personally have an issue with the story because of how it doesn't seem to make sense and it glorifies Demoscout as though all his old problems as Demo have been erased, rather than solved. Sorry for the tl;dr, but this video bugs me a lot because of that, and I'm sorry if I misunderstood anything the video was trying to tell me.
You've raised some really good points here. I completely agree with you, there's a bit of confusion over who is the protagonist and who is the antagonist. And yes, the Demoscout is still a jerk at the end, the only resolution is that he's learned how to be a scout. I guess its very hard to fit a good plot (like the ideas you suggested) in a five minute time frame. I think this video is already a little rushed, to be honest. So, yes, you're right, the story is rather messy and confusing when you think about it
well you can always make a sequel to continue story:)
The Winglet I think within that timeframe everything could have gone on as it was - up until the point where RED Team is losing and Demoscout finds the YER. An alternate suggestion to Unrellius' would be Scout actually taking the arrow, figures out he needs to survive, and runs off to find a medpack. But when he finds it and is about to use it, there could be something involving the Medic from before being gravely injured, and Scout realizing the Medic needs it more. This ties in with the beginning of the story when Demo steals Medic's chocolate.
Before he has any time to think, they might get attacked, and Demoscout could have let Medic take the kit while rushing in and killing things or taking the hits. Medic in return could heal him (QF maybe?) and then with that settled Demoscout goes HAM and helps win the game for his team. The ending with Demoscout saying he's Scout now (although it'd be great if he could become Demo again and protect his Medic, but it might make more sense with Scout) and Spy turning into a sentry could still happen with this too. You might be pushing a few seconds that might need changes with this idea, but ultimately you could totally fit a good storyline within 5 minutes with the base of the story you've presented in this.
I thought this video was more about how even though the spy wanted to avenge the medic, by turning the demo into the scout, I think the lesson is that revenge always stabs you in the back. (geddit?)
