Unfamiliar to a Canadian rising star, Begu is a tricky player although she stayed low now at the ranking, gave a little surprise. Mental stamina of this teenager was simply remarkable. Too early to feel fatigue? Coming from behind, she played superbly. Everything is a source of experience. We shall see what happens on her with patience. Warm applause to this talented young!
To be honest I was getting ready to say things like this: "WTA player are the most random thing on earth", "how can you win a tournament and loose 1r the next week" etc... I'm happy Bianca shut my mouth this time.
dave.h. Pratt I think that 4 days is more than enough to recover physically from almost any physical effort, mentally maybe not but what is important is that she won. So she was less exhausted as the match advanced? In my opinion as a runner you can be almost at 100% physically after a half marathon in 2 nights if you sleep well so I don’t see why she would be not physically good after 4. Mentally maybe.

Regardless of how much time is spent in a gym, match play can't be duplicated and her opponents have much more of that. The core fitness that makes it possible to win 7 games in a row isn't something that many players have. Even very fit players like Halep can struggle after multiple tough matches.

Honestly, Begu was playing awesome. She got to everything in the first two sets and she was hitting all her spots. I was really impressed with her. She fared better than most of Andresscu's opponents.

Her biggest weapon is drop shots. I played drop shot a lot, so I know how it works, and how good it make opponents crazy.
When you push back your opponent enough behind the baseline, drop shots are the best way to end the point... if they're done correctly!
They are called side-spinned, or back-spinned & short drop shots. They need skill & I did that perfectly most of the time.
