Raag Ahir Bhairav | Kala Ramnath | Violin | Part 1/6

Kala Ramnath ji, one of the finest violin players in the country today, performing Raag Ahir Bhairav for Komal Nishad in April 2008. This was a morning concert and a few very beautiful morning raagas were performed. She was accompanied by Shri Akram Khan on the Tabla.
The raagas performed were:
Part 1 - Raag Ahir Bhairav
Part 2 - Raag Ahir Bhairav Drut
Part 3 - Raag Jaunpuri
Part 4 - Raag Shudha Sarang
Part 5 - Raag Madmad Sarang
Part 6 - Raag Bhairavi
Incidentally, Kala Ramnath ji, was diagnosed with slip disc just one day prior to the concert. But she chose to keep her commitment and also performed for close to four hours. We are incredibly grateful to Kalaji for her efforts and commitment. Towards the last performance of this concert, while performing Raag Bhairavi, you can see Kalaji repositioning with a lot of discomfort. Jha Saheb even requested her to stop; but she went on to complete the performance.

Looks as if Pt Jasraj 's Voice descending in string notes and unmatched amalgamation of violin.the pious fingers of Kalaji dragging guru's ascending descending notes of raga ahir bhairav in true unison wid violin notes,the echos of Pt Jasraj do reflect their in.Hats off.

पोपली साहब, आप शायद “पूछो न कैसे मैंने रैन बिताई “ की बात कर रहे हैं . अहीर भैरव में निबद्ध यह धुन दरअसल बांग्ला के प्रसिद्ध कवि “क़ाज़ी नज़रुल इस्लाम “ की है जो बर्मन दादा के अनन्य मित्रों में थे. उन्हीं के लिखा और स्वरबद्ध किया गीत “अरुण कान्ति के गो जोगी भिखारी” की धुन को बर्मन दादा ने हूबहू अपनी फ़िल्म “मेरी सूरत तेरी आँखें” में ले लिया और इस तरह से ये गाना हुआ “पूछो न कैसे मैंने रैन बिताई “.
