@@oldenoughtowatchify Yet more misleading lingo in the description. "Increased Damage" is not multiplicative in the same way that "More Damage" is, which is applied a step later in the calculation... Damage = (Base_Damage + Added_Damage) * Increased_Damage * More_Damage * Hit_Rate * (Critical_Strike_Damage * Critical_Strike_Chance)
@@richardswett755 You're goated for explaining this to me. I have only played Diablo as far as these ARPGs go but super excited for POE2 to drop and this is information that's hugely important
Just to be specific, Nimis was made by Jungroan as a result of some race events that happened a couple years ago when we got all the uber versions of bosses.
i dont think DM understands how player uniques are made. Players in the past send their design or idea to the dev team and the devs design the unique and balance it to work within the devs vision and balance of the game. They don't just blindly accept broken or useless uniques just because a player designed it. The devs purposefully create a range of uniques in low power to high power to give a range of value and chase uniques within the game overall design. Players actually have only a small or 50% say in how the their final unique turns out
Ehhhhhh kinda? Like Skyforth was created for a very specific build and the example in the vid, Nimis, is kinda giga broken. Also more than half of the supporter uniques were kinda bad even on release. It's more a representation / credit thingy.
@@shaxmc9646 That depends on what you define as strong (and think the rule is). There is a good bunch of uniques that can be considered on that level or beyond when they were released. Binos, Poets, Lightning Coil, Mjölner, Voltaxic, a few of the IIQ / IIR uniques, Aegis. Sure, maybe the creators had something twice as broken in mind, who knows. Not saying it's a bad thing, but vision and balance ... not to that extend.
I used to really love playing essence drain, and loved how the dot would heal you. I always thought that if I ever splurged for one of those packs, I would make a unique that was vampire themed and allowed that mechanic to apply to bleeds. My original thought was that it would be a chalice, and take up a flask slot. Thematically filling up with the blood of your enemies before you drink it. But I guess that wouldn't work with POE2, since they are going down to only two flasks.
I don't think they're going to make unique item designs publicly available again unless it's like $5,000 or more. The playerbase is unimaginably large compared to back in beta and as Jonathan said on this subject months ago, they'd like to do it, but they think they'd get overwhelmed by interest. There's a few thousand valdo's puzzleboxes and voidborn reliquary keys in the game and that's just for a different colored item. I do think they'll make Divination Cards purchasable as a supporter pack again, but I really doubt we'll be seeing unique item designs and they just limited it to streamers and those who win races in the future. For your design, I'd go the make something you find personally interesting route. I personally love damage conversion (or blocking damage conversion. For example, Ice crash converts 100% of phys to cold. If you had a unique that made it so your damage cannot be converted, you've just opened up a way to play phys ice crash), ailment conversion (think The Three Dragons), or alternate scaling uniques that give you stats for scaling another stat (Shaper's Gloves, Brutus' Lead Sprinkler, Obscurantis).
Yea they've already talked about how those original designs are still not fully implemented and if it was in a 1k supporter.. there would easily be 5k people buying that and they won't be adding that many uniques
They won't do this, player-base is too big compared to then and they would get FLOODED. Back then it was maybe 100 people if even that who sent in a design to be reviewed. It would be A LOT more today and people would feel ripped off if 1 out of 10000 got to do it. The only way items from outside of the company will be a thing is for *official gauntlet winners.* That is the only way I see it happening.
The thing about the Design-a-Uniques is, you don't really get to do things like you said at 4:45 you get to do several back and forth discussions about what it can do and what they say they can't do. For example the Stacked Deck was a design a unique that they said they never want to let happen again because they hated it. But they (GGG) will more or less come to you like a round table talk to design it. I've seen some thread where the guy was denied his idea like 5+ times before they started getting into the realm of possible outcomes. They mostly also control the visual and theme of the item as well, you can submit your flavor text for the bottom of the item but they mostly design it all for you and what you envision and want for the item is generally what they go off of... I want to design a unique but feel as though I may end up disappointed if what I envisioned can't be done or they don't see it the same way I am trying to describe it as and it comes out "wrong"
I would make an item called "Paye Tuwin" and it would make so instead of throwing grenades you throw pots full of gold that melt on impact and burn enemies in aoe radius
I think Tri is right on this one tbh. There will be way too many people who would buy a core supporter pack that lets you create a unique in this day and age. The old pack was there when PoE 1 wasn't all that big yet, and they had to shut it down because they got too many new unique items developed. Last Epoch couldn't keep theirs up for too long either before they were flooded with player unique designs. This is the biggest launch in PoE history, while PoE is at its prime, during the coinciding prime of the genre as a whole. I think nothing less than 30k per pack would prevent a flood on their development team with unique items, Tri even thinks the number is closer to 50k, either way though I very much doubt they'll go that high.
Nope. I understand this guy is a casual in PoE but the Nimis ring is balanced by only being able to drop from an Uber boss. Has nothing to do with whatever tier it is because it can only drop from Eater of Worlds Uber.

If you want a throwback to OSRS, here's an idea: Zulrah's Toxic Blowpipe. The old one. 😈 With a theme around fast ranged attacks and envenoming the enemy, a possible implementation into PoE2 is to have it be a relatively weak weapon in terms of raw damage but high attack speed and 25% chance to poison, but it has the explicit affix "Attacks with this weapon deal 3% more attack damage per poison stack on the enemy", and to mimic the special attack, another affix could be "Every 10 seconds, the next attack from this weapon will be empowered with 50% more damage, 50% of attack damage leeched as life, and +2,500 to Accuracy Rating". To avoid it becoming a chase item, we lower the raw damage but have it scale with poison - you should still be able to clear packs easily but the scaling with poison should be noticeable when bossing. With some tuning of the numbers, it could be a weapon that accuracy stacking builds can use. It could also be comboed with a unique helmet that follows a serpentine theme to increase the chance to poison to 100% if someone else is willing to submit a unique to pair with this one. So, it opens up a couple of build options, or it can be used as an all-around decent weapon even if you don't build for it.
Do all helmet that gives a plus to zombies, able to have more with increased melee damage, and turning the zombies into zombies kangaroos. Where they just kick everything super hard.

I think a cool idea for a unique is something similar to the old huntress ascendancy showcase, "can use *insert weapon* skills" Ex: a two handed sword that can use mace skills, or a quarter staff that can use bow skills. The idea is it will be less damage overall compared to rares but instead of using 2 weapon movesets, you could use 3 or even 4, allowing you to use synergistic cross-weapon skills.
I don't think the paid packs will return, I think the "design an item / boss" stuff will be limited to a shortlist of streamers that they've specifically chosen. There are so many eyes on PoE2 now, a lot of whom could very easily afford those packs and the team would end up with an endless stream of custom requests unless the payment gate was significantly higher. Love the idea of player-designed items though - so I hope we see some really fun and unique (pardon the pun) ones.
If I could design my own ring it'd be a unique Amethyst Ring called *Gambanite Ring* Beyond the chaos res implicit, it can also roll movement speed, chaos resist & item rarity - with the unique effect being for every X number of points, right clicking the ring opens up a choice between 3 items and/or currencies that roll off of monster level, item rarity + map modifiers. Points are earned by killing enemies, 1 point per common enemy, 3 per magic enemy, and 10 per rare + Unique enemy. 10 gambles can be stored on the ring before needing to be opened, but can open 1 or multiple at a time if desired. Is it the best ring ever? No. Does it allow for a fun, thematic way to play the game whilst you're playing the game? Yes.
More combo options would be nice. Zombies that spew tar causing slow. Fire causes "Enraged' (increase enemies attk+ movement) "Wildfire" (spreading fire where enemies move)+ Increased Burn Duration, but if enemies hit you or minions, you'll be Burned + wildfire'd.
I would create... 'quiver of orbs' (styled on the glass balls used by David Bowie in the movie Labyrinth). Turns all bow attacks into orbs which seek targets (a'la volatile dead) with 20-40% reduced damage and +30-50 chaos/poison res. Would not work with indirect bow attacks (rain of arrows, toxic rain and the like)... would make 'Snipe' truly terrifying as it would not require aiming, but no guarantee it would hit the intended target(s).
To be honest... seems like a great idea to have your audience create item ideas for you. Helps flesh things out with types of items developers don't think of but players do.
I dont think they will let people create uniques. GGG has stated multiple times they regretted doing this because it takes an exorbitant amount of time and effort to make a single item, and usually not at a profit. Nowbif say for example PoE 2 cost way more money to make than planned, maybe they would be willing to do this again, to help cover costs. I would however also expect it to cost more than 1500$ to limit amount of purchases. Literally years later they were still making uniques from people who purchased the ability to make 1. Likewise its kind of hard to make a unique for a game you haven't played fully and barely know anything about, or the philosophy of PoE2 vs PoE1. We at least need to play PoE 2 before making uniques for it. We don't even know what the uniques are, and what they look like in PoE2, or the end game, etc.
Risk reward items are fun. Like: every kill increases all dmg by 1% untill you drink a flask. Drops off after 20 seconds no kills. Caps at 30%. Double effwct on bosses. (as it will be dropping).
If you are looking for ideas...A crown that turns projectiles into a breath attack which add damage over time to projectiles in an area...like creeping frost for example.
You forgot that it's a process of back and forward between designer and GGG. Even if they agree with your design, they set up the value numbers and drop rate. So you can't do whatever you like
As someone who is a fan of DoT builds I would make something like your chaos Multipliers become Poison and vice versa and the calculation between the two is multiplicative making it so you would want to build up a bit of both. I am relatively new to PoE maybe there is already a unique like that and I just never got it but yeah I like DoT lol.
SUGGESTIONS: 01. Ring: "Instead of taking lethal damage, your character recovers 50% of its maximum health, turns invisible, and summons a doppelganger that can attack enemies with the same attacks as you. This effect can only be triggered once every 5 minutes, the invisibility lasts for 8 seconds, and the doppelganger lasts for 12 seconds." 02. Amulet: "Gain damage and health based on your reserved mana." 03. Wand: "Double the amount of summons when summoning monsters, the copies last for 10 seconds, if they die by enemies they revive permanently until dying again." 04. Shield: "The more you walk the more you build up Blast Away. Blast Away: After reaching 100% your shield deals AoE damage igual to your weapon to all enemies around you." 05. Bow/Crossbow: "Your ranged attacks are now chargeable. Charged attacks shot 3-5 times more projectiles (based on charge time), projectiles from charged attacks gain pierce through all enemies, non-charged attacks explode after hitting the first enemy dealing AoE damage." 06. Ring: "Your pets (not summons) now deal 1 damage to enemies randomly." 07. Helmet: "Gain shield and armor based on your reserved health." *note: I don't know all items in Path of Exile, I may be suggesting effects that are in the game already.
Sounds like you already have some dope ideas, but I remember your first PoE character was shield boi, would be cool if you suggested an item to make giga sweaty epic shield boi
How about something crazy like Meidas Crown - that grants a single use skill "all loot currently on the ground in current zone is transformed into gold. The Crown is also destroyed and drops as 1 gold coin"
How about Frosty's Lament. A unique that when you equip it it will play Frosty's soundtrack. DM loves Rhyker. Obviously it will be a cold based weapon.
A unique crown that on critical strike has a 30% chance to make a clone of your character that casts every skill you cast at 50% of your damage for 5 seconds could be cool 😅
I got you frozen crown it's a helmet that grants you a skill like rf but it's area is doubled for evey 15 cold res above cap you have Or Crown of greed Grants skill gamblers chaotic roll or something lol Apon activation remove a random amount of gold from 1- all for a random effect on an item from making it foil, destroying, corrupting, to randomly replacing it with another
Make Palpatine one with flavor text "UNLIMITED POWAAAA". GGG then sued by Disney, GGG will go bakrupt, the world will collapse, judgement day is upon us, remember to eat pancakes.
How about a health flask that gains one charge per late-game uber boss kill, and has between (1 and 10 maximum charges). When you use it, it expends all its charges to grant like 1 - 15000% (rolled on use) increased item rarity for the next (1 to 100) items that drop. This flask cannot be used when you have another flask equipped. You have zero light radius until the item rarity buff expires. Just absolute sweaty chad magic find silliness. I know they said mf was out for PoE2, though. They could call it Darth's Drain Cleaner. :P
I’ll be honest I’ve always wanted to make a unique item and if I had the chance it would be a ring that can be used at level 1 and it makes all other items have no attribute or level requirements however at level 72 it is disabled
Haha, as soon as you said osrs I thought of party hat, ability, pull all monsters towards you, then taunting them. You deal and receive 30% more re damage. Could add more flavour to it, but I’m instantly picturing some op peer running around in wilderness with phat on and putting that concept into an item. Though would be more like rs3 since that’s where they are going f extreme value
I love the PoE devs. I wish more games had devs like them. They really are invested/interested in making the game good AND fun and respect their players who are their customers. Most game devs just see gamers as ATMs to milk with minimal effort possible.
I’m just hoping they won’t be locked behind Uber bosses. Like I’m ok with a target farmable unique from a boss with 0.01% drop IF I’m able to actually kill and farm that boss. Just my opinion
What item you should make... Anything we all can use. The drop rate and trade is trash in poe 1. We need items that we don't have to use a trade site to get them.
I have the highest doubt they’ll return the unique creation to the core supporter pack. You have to realize that equates to thousands and thousands of uniques and even at that possibly multiple uniques per person. I think they do want some hype with streamers to make a unique, but probably not general public and if so. Maybe like 5k pack… they did a 1k pack to make a div card. Making a unique to balance or add in and put Dev time in… highly doubtful it will hit general pool ability again.
GGG would balance it so you have to to be lvl 100 to equip it and everytime you recieve lets say half a mil dmg you lose a lvl and your last spec'd skillpoint
It’s frustrating how like everything is slightly wrong in this video 😂. Jung made nimis after winning a boss kill event. Most of the beta uniques are probably 1 alch now.

Beyond the chaos res implicit, it can also roll movement speed, chaos resist & item rarity - with the unique effect being for every X number of points, right clicking the ring opens up a choice between 3 items and/or currencies that roll off of monster level, item rarity + map modifiers.
I would buy a valdo's box even if no code was inside. It looks sick.
You can get one, its a Tesla box from potato puzzles or something like that. Just doesn't have the PoE flavoring.
So you can't do whatever you like
butchers cleaver or a hook:
a poisoned cow that drops down like a meteor and spreads plague clouds like in stronghold when u load a catapult with cows
unique where every step costs gold
Jung won his unique item design from a race he didn't buy it
A body armor maybe with like:
Life regeneration has no effect on you. Instead you have a life degeneration aura around you
A weapon that spell weaves could be cool, so you cast a spell then auto attack for empowered auto, the more you weave the more damage you get
As someone who is a fan of DoT builds I would make something like your chaos Multipliers become Poison and vice versa and the calculation between the two is multiplicative making it so you would want to build up a bit of both. I am relatively new to PoE maybe there is already a unique like that and I just never got it but yeah I like DoT lol.
Incredible happy for you, congratulations!
SUGGESTIONS:
01. Ring: "Instead of taking lethal damage, your character recovers 50% of its maximum health, turns invisible, and summons a doppelganger that can attack enemies with the same attacks as you. This effect can only be triggered once every 5 minutes, the invisibility lasts for 8 seconds, and the doppelganger lasts for 12 seconds."
02. Amulet: "Gain damage and health based on your reserved mana."
03. Wand: "Double the amount of summons when summoning monsters, the copies last for 10 seconds, if they die by enemies they revive permanently until dying again."
04. Shield: "The more you walk the more you build up Blast Away. Blast Away: After reaching 100% your shield deals AoE damage igual to your weapon to all enemies around you."
05. Bow/Crossbow: "Your ranged attacks are now chargeable. Charged attacks shot 3-5 times more projectiles (based on charge time), projectiles from charged attacks gain pierce through all enemies, non-charged attacks explode after hitting the first enemy dealing AoE damage."
06. Ring: "Your pets (not summons) now deal 1 damage to enemies randomly."
07. Helmet: "Gain shield and armor based on your reserved health."
*note: I don't know all items in Path of Exile, I may be suggesting effects that are in the game already.
DarthMicrotransaction themed unique should be some kind of loot box.
Please do something with shield, and/or shield charge.
Something like dual wielding shields with a a unique skill.
I was too busy vibing to the age of empire 2 ost in the second half of the video I missed everything you said xD
What about either a shield crush item or a Darth lightning themed item, like something that makes lightning tendrils actually good
Sounds like you already have some dope ideas, but I remember your first PoE character was shield boi, would be cool if you suggested an item to make giga sweaty epic shield boi
This is so freaking cool.
AoE music on the background though, nice taste my man
id be the troll and make a mask called eyes up that causes all projectiles to fire up and force all guard skills to stay on CD
I'm the guy that made Bringer of Rain. What category does my item belong in DM? :^)
The unique has to trigger a finisher effect based on how many mtx are equipped. Can’t have damage scaling cos that would be pay to win.
That's what I have said before. Generic players in this game are secondary citizens. Streamers/pro players always got some benefits.
Hearing maplestory music always throws me through a loop. haha love it DM!
Not me loading every comment and CTRL + F "maple" to see if anyone commented about the maplestory music :D
A unique crown that on critical strike has a 30% chance to make a clone of your character that casts every skill you cast at 50% of your damage for 5 seconds could be cool 😅
I got you frozen crown it's a helmet that grants you a skill like rf but it's area is doubled for evey 15 cold res above cap you have
Or
Crown of greed
Grants skill gamblers chaotic roll or something lol
Apon activation remove a random amount of gold from 1- all for a random effect on an item from making it foil, destroying, corrupting, to randomly replacing it with another
Make Palpatine one with flavor text "UNLIMITED POWAAAA". GGG then sued by Disney, GGG will go bakrupt, the world will collapse, judgement day is upon us, remember to eat pancakes.
When you have supporter packs from closed beta open beta and every era of POE but never got invited to POE2 beta test 😢
make packmule ring. That is consumed when used and gives you one stash of premium paid storage.
Holy shit dude, thats dope youre able to create a Unique item.
I’ll be honest I’ve always wanted to make a unique item and if I had the chance it would be a ring that can be used at level 1 and it makes all other items have no attribute or level requirements however at level 72 it is disabled
RuneScape custom item would be awesome but it should be something more linked to you/your brand as well
Haha, as soon as you said osrs I thought of party hat, ability, pull all monsters towards you, then taunting them. You deal and receive 30% more re damage. Could add more flavour to it, but I’m instantly picturing some op peer running around in wilderness with phat on and putting that concept into an item. Though would be more like rs3 since that’s where they are going f extreme value
Make something related to dodging/rolling, since that's going to be a core mechanic in POE2!
I love the PoE devs. I wish more games had devs like them. They really are invested/interested in making the game good AND fun and respect their players who are their customers. Most game devs just see gamers as ATMs to milk with minimal effort possible.
I'd create this: Bahamuts Fetish Bow: 145 - 460 physical damage, 30% global crit chance, 10% crit multi, 5% damage reduction, -10% elemental resist, bleed starts 5% faster on enemies, 5% movement speed, requires 300 dex to use
Just seems bad tbh.
@@matthewalvarez6884 thank you for your analysis
the background music of aoe 2 reminded me my childhood just playing game with no care in the world.
Whatever it is, it should 1000% give long flowing red hair to your character as a cosmetic. *nods*
Critical strikes increase block chance
A ring to triple damage with high def stats would be nice
Id make a gem, that it would turn my toon into an undead, and make all my minions double
I’m just hoping they won’t be locked behind Uber bosses. Like I’m ok with a target farmable unique from a boss with 0.01% drop IF I’m able to actually kill and farm that boss. Just my opinion
a crown that collects gold Until it reaches a % then drops a T0 Unique
Still upset because of the 30$ early access.
Everybody knows a decent game is 70$ + 30$ early access....
What item you should make... Anything we all can use. The drop rate and trade is trash in poe 1. We need items that we don't have to use a trade site to get them.
I really look forward to try out this game!
Btw jung got nimis in the game as a price in a race, not by suporter pack,
% of damage heals party so we got more support options
Whatever item you make, make a helm that has the look of a redhead wig. DM Stamp
PSA You have to negotiate with GGG with the design, you can't just make what you want,
I hope someone makes a t0 unique crossbow for the merc class, make the crossbow look like some sci-fi plasma laser rifle 🤣
Lucky rolls on loot would be horrendously overpowered. Please don't do that one.
I'm going to sell a kidney to buy the "designer" pack and make an epic item that says : You are immortal !!!
A ring that has 2% to deal 10x damage, encouraging dmg ailment builds
The AOE2 OST in the background, oh my! A like just because of that!
Maplestory - Kerning City OST,
Nice
I was just about to comment this when I recognized it
Could you cover the game: Outpost Infinity Siege ?
you should make microtransaction :D
PoE 2 will most likely be hated until its the first one, lets wait some years until the fans killed it
mmm, yesss, feed me PoE2 info, I WANT ALL OF IT
I'm not joking, hype is reaching critical levels.
