All i can say is that they have some some really strong competition now and if they do not come up with some great innovations and make their UI more friendly, then they will be left behind. This year i have dropped all of my GoPro gear and replaced it with DJI and Insta360 without feeling like im missing anything by not having a GoPro. It should be an interesting year.
@@kinocchio I agree. I'm travelling right now with my pocket 3 and action 4. Now I don't have to worry about an extra microphone or trying to sync the audio off of the internal storage from the mic 2. It just works and it's hassle free for me.

I love GoPro. I've gotten amazing customer service from them when needing to have cams fixed/replaced. I don't need or want anything that will create larger files but would pay through the nose for something that actually works well at night.
My top 2 asks for GoPro: 1) Low light capture that is better than their competitors. This is massively opening the door for Insta360 & DJI to convert users. It has to hit the mark (and more so WOW us) this time around. 2) Keep doing 8:7, and if this can be achieved at 8k, it’s a game changer for editing in post.
Dji 4 has just been announced, man. What are you talking about? Gopro12 launches in September. You have to wait another 9 - 10 months for new models to be introduced. You have to wait 8-9 months for DJI 5

I've owned Gopros since the Hero 4, the upgraded to the 6 and when it finally died, I got a 9 for free, through the gopro membership replacement thing. What I'm trying to say is that, I'm not waiting for the latest and greatest camera, from any maker, to upgrade to. So far, my GoPro's have been reliable and produce great results, imo. Only one thing I REALLY hope they change and that's the media mod. As it is, the thing is useless. Otherwise, keep it simple. AI, mods, etc are not for me.
They need to make the camera slightly larger and bring more aluminum to the exterior in the form of a heat sink. If you make heat you can't wrap the heat source in plastic, it will hold the heat in. 🤷♂️
GoPro has been relying on their name for far too long. At this time it's either DJI or Insta. They are the ones pushing the envelope. GoPro is just trying to keep up. Their cameras have been overheating for far too long. Their batteries take too long to charge and don't last long.
I’ve got the hero 9 and 11 and they have never ever overheated on me I used both in Orlando which at the time had a humidity in the 90%s and an air temp of 28/29 degrees and they were rock solid The batteries have always lasted me as well and with the volta I’m never really out of juice during a day of filming
I'm not following your train of thought between them not moving to a 1" sensor because people want everything in focus with an action camera. It sounds like you're talking about aperture size, the sensor size doesn't change the depth of field.
Hopefully they redesign the media Mod and add its own legs.. the current system sux. Hopefully they fix the endless glitches, file corruption etc.. Actually, I would just be happy if the fixed the bugs and glitches in the 13..
Well if you want better low light performance, and a way to dissipate heat, then it will probably need to be a little larger. I will gladly take a larger camera, for a bigger sensor, and better heat dissipation, versus what they currently have.

It would take a LOT for GoPro to bring me back from DJI and Insta360. Compare the Hero 12 to the Action 4 (and the Pocket 3), which has better battery life, fast charging, and can add an external mic without any additional hardware. While both companies offer great action cameras, it is my opinion that DJI is the better option for those who use their camera on a daily basis. I use my cameras every day at work, and with DJI, I've had none of the crashing and overheating issues common with my GoPros. Furthermore, when comparing the Insta360 X3 to the GoPro Max, it's a similar scenario. The GoPro Max is outdated, the Hero app pales in comparison, and that sector of the market is exploding. I believe that GoPro will lose market share if they don't bring something more game-changing with the Hero 13 and Max 2.

Top Feature of the Hero 13 is extreme overheating! It may not overheat when I’m doing Mtb or ebike videos but I’m sure it will overheat within 15 minutes when I do my fishing videos

You know they could have a fingers/quarter twenty/magnetic mount all-in-one. They also need a bluetooth wireless mic capability, since Insta360 and the DJI Action 4 already both work with the upcoming DJI Mic 2.

If I ran GoPro I'd tell everyone we are going to re-focus on action with a faster lens for amazing low light capability and better quality supporting features such as your even slower motion frame rates. Action cameras need better built-in audio imho. Action 2 had such great built-in audio - nobody wants to have to plug-in an adapter and as a result forfeit waterproof specs. Everything else is just fluff imho.
You're asking for too much I think. The idea that it will be cooler temps and also l have AI? I doubt it. So many ways they could take this, but people really want better menus, longer battery, cooler temps. Everything else could be handled with software, or addons. The add on ecosystem is where its at, where they can eek out more money.

The file naming has always been so bad. Now the 12 update allows custom names but not for older cameras. I tried the lab feature but that's frustrating as I can't figure out how to set multiple lab features. It would be nice if they built that page that binded feature to feature instead of allowing you to select a feature that's not possible based on other features.

I don't want to be choosing expensive premium models for increased storage. Nor do I want to transfer contents out before I can continue recording. Just have better hardware, maybe increases in resolution, but lets not overcomplicate it with AI features either. Most people just want to record quality video and edit ourselves

I feel like it will be like every year, we have less and less expectations for GoPro, and GoPro still disappoints. It gives us news that no one asked for, without changing what everyone is asking for. Gopro is so technologically behind that AI will introduce it maybe in 3-4 years. GoPro have failed to impress year after year. From hero 8 to the 11, gopro got more and more glitchy. To be honest im done with gopro. For me it’s dji and insta360 from now on. My action 4 and pocket 3 have not once failed or over heated. Neither has my insta360 x3 and go2

Sorry but 8K is overkill. Concentrate on what matters not the numbers game. Purchased the Action 4 and havnt looked back. I still have the dreaded gopro 8 and only use it now for snorkelling because I dont care if I lose it or if it gets damaged.

The gap between DJI and GoPro in terms of UI/UX is widening. The usability features of DJI are what made me switch and not look back.
I’m much more interested in what features the DJI Osmo Action 5 will have. GoPro hasn’t fixed issues it’s had for years and has lost many past users.

2. Make it bigger for cooling
3. Focus

Gopro should look into graphene batteries. Holds charge longer, charges a lot faster and NO overheating. 🤷🏽

The Ace Pro doe not shoot straight MP4, so it won't work for some people, especially if they use an internet filter.
An option to pause while recording would be nice.

I really want some sort of syncing feature with Strava, GPX or FIT data. Like they have on Ace series.
