      OK Colin.
Great show until you said Lebron is dealing with something Jordan didn't deal with:
There were times throughout the Bulls dynasty when Pippen checked out or went AWOL - Pippen had a "migraine" in game 7 vs. the Pistons - that was 1990 maybe.
Pippen and the rest of the Bulls scored ZERO points in Game 6 in the 4th Q in the 1993 Finals - Jordan had to carry every single point that quarter until Paxson's 3 pointer... the only points outside of MJ that quarter.
In 1998, the Bulls would have won the ECF in less than 7 games had Pippen hit his free throws at the end of one of those games.
In the 1997-98 season, Pippen was out with injury for much of the year. You didn' t hear Jordan telling the GM "Get me more help". Jordan was ticked and he complained - but not saying get me more players.
And Pippen was hobbled with a back injury in game 6 of the 1998 Finals and JOrdan had to carry the team again that day with 45 points in his final game for the Bulls.
So please don't make more excuses for Lebron and say that he's facing such a unique situation.
Perhaps you can rewatch the 1990s Bulls history if you want to contest what I just wrote.

LJ u have a excellent case for Jordan..... but!!!! what about those other guys?

    • @MrLarryLessor
      @MrLarryLessor 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      What are you saying exactly?
I wrote this a while ago - been thinking about football lately. Please remind me what the debate is here....
Lebron has a lot of help - and he gets more of what he complains about whenever he wants it compared to Jordan's era.
It upsets me that we live in a society now where young people have it easier than 30 or so years ago - but I hear lots of excuses, and higher payment for these young people who haven't really earned it yet - so they think they're "all that" when they haven't really done that much - or done squat yet.
I don't say it with anger - I say it with care & concern.
I think Lebron among many others are fantastic talents. But a lot o these young people need to learn character & values. Dignity, honor, truth, honesty - like those old fashioned SUperman comic books "Truth and the American way".
We've lost the "truth" part in lots of today's business world - a lot of people care about "Did I win/ Did I get paid?" And that's all that matters - even if it was dishonest and dishonorable.
(Tom Brady destroying a phone to hide his behavior? I always liked Tom - but that was pretty low. Tom went to college with my grad school classmates in Michigan - I rooted for him even before he ever won that SB over the Rams. But he became kinda hollywood at times and didn't seem that sorry for his behavior.)
But Tom's not even the worst example. I see young people now - they act like they don't have time to email you back. Or that their homework is so hard - they don't have time..... Well, back in my day if you wanted to research something it might take hours to actually go to a library and dig out books that are 60 or 80 years old.
Now you plug words into a computer and you get all this info so fast. Something that once took 3 to 4 hours of hard walking around and photocopying now takes under 30 minutes with computers. And thus, a lot of kids that don't learn to appreciate or respect when someone takes the time to do something personally by hand for them.
So if someone opens the door for you - by hand - and shows patience, some kids are very rude nowadays and just keep walking like you weren't there.
Why? Because they grew up just expecting things to happen fast for them -
When you learn to practice for hours and take lots of time to get it right: Cooking, writing a paper, practicing your free throws, polishing your shoes, cleaning your ice skates and sharpening the blade - whatever it is, you learn to appreciate the effort and time it took.
That's what made Jordan great at so many things: He spent hours working at something if he wasn't good at it. If it wasn't for the baseball strike, he was getting much better at learning how to hit a curve ball etc. When he wasn't young anymore, he worked hard at developing his fadeaway jumper. His 3 pointers.
I hear players today acting like they need to rest a lot.... not sure I really believe them.
Like Brady when he destroyed his phone, or like a kid who says I was busy and didn't email you back (even though we saw you on twitter joking around - so if you had time for that, you were dishonest about the other ), once you lie, it's hard to believe what you say.
Let's hope we as a society get back to what Superman said America was about: Truth & Justice... I know life ain't usually a comic book though ha.
