    Had sew much fun with this batch of patterns! Have you worked with any of them before? How's your summer sewing going? I have linked part one to this video in the description if you're new and would like to watch it. Happy sewing to you! 🪡🌻

    I'm blown away with the McCalls dress! That panel fabric is truly stunning! And of course the yellow/white New Look dress is gorgeous! I love your pencil skirt and 2 piece lounge set. Elastic saves the day!!! I love it!! 🌹🌹

      Hi Grace! Thank you so much! Once I got over the sewing block, it was smooth sailing with the Mccall's 8211 dress pattern thankfully : ) Elastic IS a lifesaver haha I appreciate you being here and happy happy creating to you!

    I loved how you added elastic for the stretched neckline. No one can ever guess. I learnt that stay stitching helps. Also attach the bias tape first by hand with just a quick running stitch. Also love your skirt

    Those are all such lovely makes and they seem to suit you so well! Don't be too hard on yourself for your perceived mistakes. Everyone, even most experienced sewists, will make and have made mistakes. It's how we learn new things in sewing often, and it looks to me like you saved every one of the makes! I think as long as we don't get too hung up on making it exactly perfectly completely like the package tell us to and we are willing to improvise if we need to, we enjoy our creations a lot more!

      Wise words! Could not agree more--the mistakes have definitely taught me to think outside of the box and even cater a project more to my liking (in some cases hehe). Thanks for your kind words and happy happy sewing + creating to you!

    9857 is a hot off the press & hot among sewists , even though I'm not much of a pants wearer , maybe I need to try that pattern ❤️

    I’m so impressed with how you problem solve! And sometimes even when you’ve already successfully made up a pattern, different fabrics behave differently so those problem solving skills come in handy! I’ve done the same thing as you - putting elastic in the back waistline seam under the facing. I love your border print dress! Great video! Thanks!

    • @dineincreativity
      @dineincreativity  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you so much! And, exactly! Sometimes adding little tweaks in the form of elastic to different fabrics based on how they behave helps tremendously. Love how you put that. Thank you so much for being here and happy sewing!😊🧵🪡

    Your cropped pants which you added the elastic to are the kind of pants I love! I would much rather have the waistband have some elastic in there, than be perfectly tailored to my waist. They look like they were designed that way. Love

    Good job on your sewing Rachel Ann! I especially loved the pencil skirt. The style and fabric are just perfect for you! And it's reassuring to me to see that other sewists have to adjust things like adding elastic and doing other improvising to make it work!

    • @dineincreativity
      @dineincreativity  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you so much and absolutely! Glad to know that I am not the only one who has to do these tiny tweaks to get the exact right fit. Thank you so much for your kind and thoughtful comment! Happy sewing! 😃🧵🪡

    Beautiful makes and I really love the yellow dress honestly if you didn’t point out the elastic along the neckline as your remedial for the gaping neckline I thought it’s really part of the design. My sewing tip regarding the neckline to prevent it from stretching out you can do a stay stitch along the neckline.

    • @dineincreativity
      @dineincreativity  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you so much! I’m glad that it blends in and I definitely will have to try the stay stitching to help with the gaping bias tape next time 😅🧵🪡 happy sewing!

      Oh, thank you! It's such a cute pattern and I love the slit on the front. Gives it some variety and makes it a bit different than a standard pencil skirt. Highly recommend the pattern! : )

    I love your inspiring channel! I get so many pattern ideas and beginner encouragement from watching.
    Can I throw a question out there for anyone who can answer?
    Sewed up McCall’s 8482. Lovely.
    The (easy) skirt has several pattern pieces; I’m using solid color linen. I did fine EXCEPT when I go to sew together the 2 FINAL front and back skirt panels, the back panel seams were the complete reverse despite me thinking I checked it over and over before continuing.
    It’s asymmetrical so the long/short weren’t matching AND my seams were all reversed????opposites-like mirror image!
    To fix, I need to seam rip and reverse all seams😂
    Anyway. Is this a front/back fabric confusion on my part? It’s hard to keep track which side is which on solid linen. Or is this a pattern READING mistake? How can I prevent this silly mistake? What am I doing wrong😢
    I hope this made sense. THANK YOU for reading if you got this far. Much love to all.

      Thank you so much for being here and for your kind words! I haven’t worked with that pattern, but I did look it up. Super cute! Because I have not worked with this pattern, I can’t really comment on where things may have gone awry, but I’ll give you validation that it happens to all of us, self included! Just the other day, I had to almost completely take a dress apart because the back was ill fitting and the zipper was rippled/bulging out giving me a hump on on my back. 😭 Then I had to rip the zipper out and re-insert!
      I know I’m not commenting on your sewing pattern specifically but Hope this helps and hope your final project turns out super cute! 🌷🌷

    Love your videos. You have mentioned several times when putting in a zipper. Have you tried sewing what they call a lap zipper then your zippers are hidden or have you tried putting in an invisible zipper. Either way your makes are lovely.

      Thank you! I have not tried sewing a lap zipper, but I’ll have to look that up and try that technique. I have attempted to insert an invisible zipper, but it’s a work in progress for me with the invisible zipper 😁🧵🪡
