Greatly explained. Slowly people all over the world are getting knowledge about the use and importance of LED lighting. To start with, the markets, especially online trading in the world (including India to a great extent ) are full with the supply of cheap China make LED bulbs. One way it is good, till all people acquire the knowledge about LEDs - at lessor cost. But the future is bright with LED lighting only. Recently 3 scintists from Japan were awarded noble prize (for 2014) for introduction of LEDs with white light to the world. V.G.Krishna, from India.
It simply is not cost effective to build these yourself. Basic kids are a reasonable price but postage is the killer. Up to 5 times the cost of the parts depending on your country.
Good to share information, but after energy subsidies, I can get fully assembled Philips 60w equiv. bulbs at Home Depot on sale for around $2. At the moment, the 4-pack of non-dimmable 60W-equiv. is selling for $3.97. This is perfect for what I need at the moment. Our dimming bulbs are GE Link connected bulbs. As soon as I can copy the on-chip firmware from one bulb, I can build those $15 bulbs for around $9.

Hello! All this you can find in supermarket for engineers. A multimeter, for example: toolboom.com/en/pocket-digital-multimeter-uni-t-ut33c/ good soldering iron: toolboom.com/en/precision-soldering-iron-goot-cxr-31/ You will find links to materials for LED lamps in the video (1 min 50 sec.): toolboom.com/en/catalogue/energy-saving/led-diy-kits/

+Michael Kaliski Not even when drag soldering with a well tip? :P I know what you're saying though. I don't really see an issue if it's just to tack something down temporarily but I definitely would have reflowed the joints properly before assembling the bulb completely if it were me.
For the newbie to soldering; it's not painting with metal, but all about heat transfer to attract and introduce the metals to each other. They bond and exchange some molecules in the melt zone.

May I tell you a little secret fellas? While everything in the video is true and inspiring, having a constant current (no flicker on LED) will be useful while recording a video, *but having an LED turn ON and OFF 50 times a second will mean that in each second you save 50 milliseconds of the LED's LIFE, why? well because them are not turned ON all the time* All best to every reader, just tryna help :P
Hello! Package contents of the LED bulbs that you can buy in other stores are different from those we sell. For example, the radiator of our bulbs is made out of aluminum. This is one of the most expensive elements of LED bulbs. The aluminum radiator provides great heat removing and a long life.
Nowadays, there is kind of LED lighting no need LED sparate diver, just IC drving with SMD LEDs on the PCB, very simple assembling. Actually, this kind of LED Bulb is very old model.
Except it's not the LEDs that fail: it's the power conversion components that have to change 120V AC to 12V DC, all built into the bulb case (and more permanently than this kit does). Usually the failed part is a capacitor. Those are the designed-to-fail-early components and the manufacturers encase them in glue and putty making it extremely difficult to repair.
I don't know where you get your information from but, buying the supplies and making one would cost just as much or 260$ more including the meters then just going to the store and buying one
Hello! Buying a soldering iron, a multimeter, screwdrivers, and other tools only to make a few LED bulbs is quite unreasonably. On the other hand, most of us already have all those tools at home. Why not use it to make an LED bulb with your own hand? You may find DIY kits here: toolboom.com/en/catalogue/energy-saving/led-diy-kits/
says 3000 lux in the video, then writes and says again 600-700 lux at the end, but the lux meter in the video shows 300 lux :D My 13w philips light bulb creates 1400 lux, how on earth that can do 3000 ? Also with 7w power, it would be unlikely to get 600-700 lux. Probably it is only 300 lux...
Hello! We have LED DIY Kits up to 15 watts. toolboom.com/en/catalogue/energy-saving/led-diy-kits/led-diy-kit-5730/?filter[PPV]=3623 This is not 25, of course. The quality is excellent!
". LED lamps consume 10 times (video text - Save up to 10 times) less" They do not do anything "ten times less" , they do it at 1/10th the consumption.
I am extremely ALLERGIC to LED's. Someday, People will learn that it is more dangerous than they think. But I too would NOT dare to say it too loud. People would think that I am CRAZY... Like I said to most People that I am ALLERGIC to WIFI. Just like growing up, I was extremely ALLERGIC to High Fructose Corn Syrup and Gluten. Years later, now we found most Company are gearing towards High Fructose Corn Syrup and Gluten Free.
Bro you prolly allergic to science too 😂 the screen you using to type this comment consists of thousand of LEDs... There's nothing in an LED diode you could possibly be allergic to. Are you allergic to the beach too? Has the same materials everywhere as an LED diode.

Never ever carry solder to a joint on a soldering iron. Apply iron to joint, heat, apply fluxed solder, remove solder, remove iron and allow to cool.

Valente Espinosa why did it take me this long of troubleshooting before I read the comments 😑
Ever considered that the guy in the video isn't speaking English and the video is translated? :P
can you show the power supply diagram with indicated values thank you more power to you
4:34 Black glue stick?! Wtf! That's 😎 cool!!!
I wonder how can the hot glue take the heat of the LEDs when the bulb is turned on for several hours ?
May I tell you a little secret fellas? While everything in the video is true and inspiring, having a constant current (no flicker on LED) will be useful while recording a video, *but having an LED turn ON and OFF 50 times a second will mean that in each second you save 50 milliseconds of the LED's LIFE, why? well because them are not turned ON all the time* All best to every reader, just tryna help :P
Is this cheaper than buying an led light bulb in the store? one cost about $1.64 (USD) in store now.
Hello! Package contents of the LED bulbs that you can buy in other stores are different from those we sell. For example, the radiator of our bulbs is made out of aluminum. This is one of the most expensive elements of LED bulbs. The aluminum radiator provides great heat removing and a long life.

Do you guys have any in house engineers that can perhaps collaborate to build out an customized OEM design for a kickstarter project?
What is the power factor???

rey albert You can find it here toolboom.com/en/Energy-Saving/LED-DIY-Kits

Great one
Nice
cool thanks
Nowadays, there is kind of LED lighting no need LED sparate diver, just IC drving with SMD LEDs on the PCB, very simple assembling. Actually, this kind of LED Bulb is very old model.
super
Could save money with led bulbs you already have by resoldering new leds on after they go out
Except it's not the LEDs that fail: it's the power conversion components that have to change 120V AC to 12V DC, all built into the bulb case (and more permanently than this kit does). Usually the failed part is a capacitor.
Those are the designed-to-fail-early components and the manufacturers encase them in glue and putty making it extremely difficult to repair.
@@mokahless huh thanks for the info the more i learn
Led light bulb $2 from Walmart and thats it
thanks man ....
How are you sir ji

says 3000 lux in the video, then writes and says again 600-700 lux at the end, but the lux meter in the video shows 300 lux :D My 13w philips light bulb creates 1400 lux, how on earth that can do 3000 ? Also with 7w power, it would be unlikely to get 600-700 lux. Probably it is only 300 lux...
something tells me this might not be csa or ulc certified... i think i'll find something else to do with my time.
Its called assembling an LED bulb and not making an LED bulb...!!
Only up to 9w power!?!?!! Come on man... I was hoping I could make like 25 watt lamps.
Hello! We have LED DIY Kits up to 15 watts. toolboom.com/en/catalogue/energy-saving/led-diy-kits/led-diy-kit-5730/?filter[PPV]=3623
This is not 25, of course. The quality is excellent!
why is the guy in the video not the guy we are hearing?
Hello! Because we had to voice the video separately.
i fixed a broken class with only glue ,,,,,,, isnt it amazing?
". LED lamps consume 10 times (video text - Save up to 10 times) less"
They do not do anything "ten times less" , they do it at 1/10th the consumption.
you ever learn fractions? if you multiply 1 by 10 it would be ten so 10/10 divided by 10 equals 1/10 thus meaning it is true it is 10 times less.
@@kyriakos098- Nahhh, just allergic to non-educated kneee grossss🤣😂🤣 like you! 😂🤣😂
