- I blame you for the moonlit sky
and the dream that died
with the eagles' flight
I blame you for the moonlit nights
when I wonder why
are the seas still dry?
don't blame this sleeping satellite
Did we fly to the moon too soon
did we squander the chance
in the rush of the race
the reason we chase is lost in romance
and still we try
to justify the waste
for a taste of man's greatest adventure
I blame you for the moonlit sky
and the dream that died
with the eagles' flight
blame you for the moonlit nights
when I wonder why
are the seas still dry?
don't blame this sleeping satellite
have we lost what it takes to advance?
have we peaked too soon?
if the world is so green
then why does it scream under a blue moon
we wonder why
If the earth's sacrificed
for the price of it's greatest treasure
I blame you for the moonlit sky
and the dream that died
with the eagles' flight
blame you for the moonlit nights
when I wonder why
are the seas still dry?
don't blame this sleeping satellite
and when we shoot for the stars
what a giant step
have we got what it takes
to carry the weight of this concept
or pass it by like a shot in the dark
miss the mark with a sense of adventure
I blame you for the moonlit sky
and the dream that died
with the eagles' flight
blame you for the moonlit nights
when I wonder why
are the seas still dry?
don't blame this sleeping satellite
Pensar tenía 12 años cuando salió esta canción. Hoy ya tengo 43 años y la sigo amando como el primer día. La buena música sigue viva de x vida.
Yes sir!
I can't believe how beautiful this song is. It's not just nostalgia, it's just brilliantly beautiful, lovely lyrics, chord progressions, amazing voice, very touching in its entirety.
Not a lot of people know she wrote this about the space program... 1989... The 20th anniversary of the moon landing and everyone was celebrating but Tasmin didn't understand why... They were celebrating an achievement that was 20 years old and in the 20 years since, nothing had been done to further space exploration… We got to the moon and then stopped. Each launch of the Saturn 5 cost 185 million dollars in 1969 and only the command module ever returned.
Millions squandered including the earths resources and the justification was for "a taste of man's greatest adventure'.
She also disliked the way science had taken away the mystery of the moon. For millennia man had looked up at the moon and dreamt of all sorts.
Nowadays, thanks to science, most people just look up and see a huge floating conglomeration of debris and dust compressed into a sphere that reflects the suns light...
That sense of wonder no longer exists... Not really...
We can no longer look at the moon and imagine it as anything more than what we know it to be.
Sy what wise words! Congrats!
It is Possible You are Right. Although there is much Depth in this Song, I believe it includes more to a personal Chapter of Her Life. Only when it is dark enough we can see the Stars ✨.
The bass line. So fluent and smooth, steeped in ad libs.
@@Crimsonedge1 As much as science can shatter some dreams, it can also inspire a whole new generation of dreams. Whatever happens, new science is always good. The sense of wonder about the moon may be gone, but soon (NASA, SpaceX working hard on new craft to take us there) a lot more of us will have a sense of wonder about our own blue marble, without borders, FROM the surface of the moon. What's more awesome?
A timeless masterpiece....right?!?!?
Oh yeah ! ✨❤
Correct
Most assuredly. The lyrics almost make me cry.
sure is ...
Like good wine
This kind of music is not being done nowadays.... Timeless!
The production of this song excedes expectations from the era. Very well done with her most excellent vocals, from organ to drums to background vocals.
Men at work's 1981 album, remastered, sounds like it was recorded yesterday with modern equipment (high dynamic range). It all depends on the quality of the recording equipment and of course the editor. For example exclusive use of condenser microphones. Much more expensive than coil microphones but much more detailed recording and a practically flat response.
This is one of the most wonderful songs I have ever heard!
Her voice is supreme. Love it.
This song just gets better with every listen, It's a timeless cla
Volviendo a mis 15/16 años cuando apareció esta canción en Chile escuchando esta gran canción
Lindo recuerdo
I keep coming back to this song. Hauntingly beautiful~
I love heavy metal, but this song is so brilliant...
Yeah me too! I havent heard it since my GF died in 2007. Until tonite.....then the tears just come gushing forward. Fuck todays pop, its all SHIT.
@@Guitarman7133 May she rest in peace my friend. Sorry to hear that.
LoL! I was listening to Slayer Show No Mercy earlier, Then I went into a little Linda Ronstadt, Glen Cambell, and Pete Townshend. My music tastes are all over the place. DD Verni from Overkill said in an interview, You can't be a metalhead if find yourself saying "Gee, I think I'm in the mood for some Tom Petty". I thought that was one of the dumbest things I'd ever heard a rockstar say in an interview.
One many, many of 1990s musical hidden treasures!
@Jose Carlos Cano Molina, have you heard Karnivool's cover?

This song with Tasmin transcends them all. It is to this day still unique and Truely reaches for the stars of enlightenment. But it still rocks...
Fantastic song. Always sounds great everytime i hear it.
there are so many beautiful songs (thank god) and this is definitely one of them !!
Vocally, this song is very pure, endearing and that of the heavens, an entity within itself. This one resides at the top within the "elite" and "most precious" pieces of music of all time in my opinion, I'll have it within me till I am no longer in existence and I'm truly grateful for that. NA1974🇬🇧.
Very Amazing Beautiful Voice 💗 2019
PRECIOSA CANCION. FANTASTICA VOZ

I absolutely love her music
Thank you, beautiful Audio quality.
The break ar 2:50 is just epic.
Wow. Amazing vocals.
Thank you! I love this song!
Superb
Its all about the Whoa oh oh ho yeah yeahs
i kid you not this is what makes the song brilliant
.....but it's also everything else, like the lyrics, the raspiness in her voice in some of her notes and her tender tone in others, the background harmonies, the build up after the first set of "Whoa oh oh ho yeah yeahs" and the over all feeling the song brings.
Briliant analyses ;)

Lovely song
Great song from 90s.
Still a lovely song - but please let us know why you added three minutes of silence (instead of posting the long version with the beautiful guitar solo done by Robbie Mc Intosh)..
Absolute classic - love the keyboard coming in at 2.45
This song has such a deep and important place in my heart.
Reading the comments, I'm not alone.
I don't know if the long version is on TH-cam.
I have it, somewhere.
Me encanta
I'm listening in 2024 ❤❤😢😢
Imagine that when I heard this song in MTV back in 1992, i founded very boring. I made a tragic mistake after all.
Angel!
Wow...
Life time guarantee!!!!
91 92 ish the sound track to my bricklayer apprenticeship 😉👊
only the best
Great song - where's the bass end ?
She was born to sing, as many others, Michael Jackson, Steve Wonders, Diana Rose, Whitney and many other Black Americans, they where hugely bless by our God as a channel to message to the world.
Tasmin Acher is not American.
Another great voice along with k.d. lane. Mariah Carey. Etc.
Que frescura
Absolutly beautiful. 2018.
💜💜💜
Is she still alive . I was told no.
Back when this was on the radio I thought this was a love song; a song about a failed romance. Finding out the real meaning was disappointing.
👍👍👌

For the longest time, I thought this was a Sheryl Crow song.
Why the wasted time at the end???
Text today’s music sucks compared to this it’s really sad even the voices suck compared to this is really nice music
ahahaha 3 minutes of silence
3 minutes to think about the beauty of this song, maybe
Organ hammond??
If she were white, everyihing would be flawless...
But she is even more beautiful than the best white women, so there is no racial explanation (or looks explanation) for her not being a superstar. It is that the most intelligent bands and singers are simply above the heads of the average person. She has the complete package, looks, incredible voice, great songwriter, but so did Ian McCulloch, but not many people remember the Bunnymen these days, or The Chameleons UK. And when I mention Rachael Dadd or Kate stables I get a similar response. Most young people think music is an auto tuned fake falsetto rap mumble these days.
