This song was on top of the charts when my dad died. I clearly remembering it playing on the radio as I drove home from the hospital....still so young, at 56. Fast forward 37 years, as my 91 year old mom is getting ready to finally rejoin dad, this song resonates now, as much as it did in 1984.

Hey missus Silver Hammer! When my son was about, we'll he could talk but barely. Anyway he would wake up in the middle of the night and sit on my lap till he got sleepy to go back to sleep. So I ask Allie about it couple weeks later and she says yeah some little kid called in a request real mean then hung up? Yeah I know something to entertain you at 3am in the morning
It reminds me of some of those Aimee Mann songs, like the one in Magnolia that the characters sing. (And now I see that Aimee Mann recorded a version of this song, so that tracks.) Also picking up notes of "Desperado" by the Eagles.
My parents divorced in the mid 80s. On the weekends my dad would pick up my sister and I, and we would head to Bar Harbor for the day. I distinctly remember the ride home laying in the back of his dodge charger, just finished eating my happy meal, and listening to this song. To this day it stands out as one of my happiest memories in one of the most confusing and saddest periods of my life. My dad passed away the beginning of this year. We didn't always see eye to eye, but I miss him so much. I'm so grateful for this song and the memories that come with it. Love you dad.
This song was one of my mother's favorites when she was battling cancer back in the 80s. She passed 2 weeks before I graduated high school. I've always loved the Cars, but this song has a special place in my heart. Whenever I hear it, I think of her and how wonderful she was.
Sorry about your mom. I lost both of my parents relatively young as well. My dad at 58 yrs old and my mom at 60 yrs old. They both passed away from the same type of lung cancer. I really miss them both.
I was a lifeguard at a large swim club when this song came out and for some reason, this song is locked in my brain at a moment as a high school teenager. It was early in the morning before the club opened, and I was alone, vacuuming the pool. The sun had just come up and there wasn’t a cloud in the sky. It was going to be a perfect summer day at the best job a teenager could have in the 1980's summertime. I had the music on over the pool speakers and this song came on and I remember having this peaceful feeling as I stood there quietly enjoying the early morning silence, the still water shimmering except for the ripples caused by the pole on the vacuum, with this song as the backdrop before the day got busy. I won’t ever forget that moment and I think of it every time I hear this song. RIP Ric and Benjamin. Your music lives on in memories like these. And, I too had a Walkman……
The older you get the more important it is to have some memories that you can call upon when every you need them that will calm you. The internet is a great place to revive some forgotten and calming memories. Why we are here.
I know how you feel Stephen. My wife Kellie passed away in 2000 of inoperable systemic cancer. She was 28 years old. As hard as it is, the only thing we can do is soldier on and consider ourselves lucky, no, blessed that we were with them at all. Take care Stephen and you have my deepest condolences.
I just joined the Army in 1984. Young, strong, brave. Stepping out into the World for the first time as a young man. This song was playing in club one weekend we were in basic training. When I listen to it now, all the memories come flooding back, the sights, the feelings, the laughter even the smells. Incredible that music can do that. Beautiful.

I’m 21 years old and I love 80s music so much, and whenever I read the comments on these music videos it makes me so happy but it also makes me cry reading some of the stories of people who have connections to the songs. I wish I could’ve been there, in that amazing era. I’m grateful to have all the wonderful music at my fingertips today.
Did your parents listen to 80’s music when you were younger or you are the only one that likes it out of you, your dad, your mom? Do you have a specifix genre in the 80’s you like the best? Personally, i like more rock/pop songs from the 80’s like The Outfield, Tears For Fears, Spandau Ballet, OMD, Cars, etc.
@@MrSpooner1985 My mom loves 80s music since that was "her time" as she always tells me haha. My dad likes a lot of songs too, but he mostly loves music from the 60s and 70s since that was his time. That definitely rubbed off on me too. And as for favorite genre I feel the same, I mostly like rock/pop but also a lot of new wave stuff like Talking Heads! Definitely one of my all time favorites, and obviously The Cars as well. Scorpions, DEVO, Madonna, Billy Idol, Erasure, The Clash, Hall & Oates, The Outfield, Van Halen, REO Speedwagon, etc etc... all ones I love!
For me the 80s was my mom chain smoking cigarettes in the car with her window cracked, getting McDonald’s almost every day when my dad was deployed, cartoons, playing outside til the street lights came on. I used to try singing like MaDonna! I was just a little kid then. Hair was big! Everyone looks back nostalgically at different decades. I honestly am glad I grew up before social media, etc... There was dial-up by the time I was in 4th grade, but it wasn’t common to have. There were “car phones,” but I never saw them. And the giant 80’s mobile phone looked like a giant walk-in-talkie. 😂 It wasn’t that great honestly. But it’s better than what my kids are growing up with today. P.S. Not everyone had cable, but if a kid on your block did, you’d be posted watching MTV music videos or you’d make mixed tapes off of the radio.
Who’s listening to this song forever? Quintessential 80’s track! Masterpiece masterfully done.. Benjamin Orr’s voice and synthesizer are in perfect harmony..
One of the best synth driven songs of the 80's. So good, it was a huge top 5 in the UK twice... Benjamin Orr has the perfect voice for this tune... Absolutely classic in every sense of the word...
DES, I just sang and recorded this timeless song using Starmaker app coz I truly loved this song. Regards from sunny Philippines, the country of 7,100 islands!!
This is one of those songs that defines a time in my life. I was 21, pregnant and working at the Pizza Hut at night and attending college in the day. After we shut down at night I would play this song on the jukebox while cleaning. I remember the feeling of not knowing what my life was going to be like after the birth of my child. So many unknowns for the future. 33 years later my daughter was pregnant with her second child and suffered an AVM rupture in her brain. She coded 5 times. Was in the hospital 2 months and we expected her at first to not survive the night then, as she pulled through we expected severe brain damage. I heard this song again while driving to and from the hospital. Again so many unknowns for the future. 3 years later her mind is sound as ever but she has visual and balance problems. He baby is perfect. Music has the special ability to connect us instantly with a time, place and emotion. I have more than one song that represents something but this one, this one carries a special feeling of "waiting for the unknown. "
Ben Orr had the looks, the voice, and the stage presence. Ric had the brains, innovation, and creativity. Together just brilliant and stunningly beautiful.
Yah, such a great team. I'm not really not sure why the Cars didn't blaze on. Just speculation but maybe they took some time to enjoy the fortune they made and of course Ric did a lot of production work.
Music depends on your mood at the time imo. I’m angry and blues , some dirty tassie grime hip hop . When laid back stoned any prog rock . What a world of music in offer we have. Light up your joint🦨
'YOU CAN'T GO ON THINKING NOTHING'S WRONG'.... THIS MUST BE ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL SONGS in Music history. The Cars is a mine of Gold, Great Legacy, This song breaks hearts
The greatest? Not really. It's good, but unless someone comes up with something better, then I Want to Know What Love Is by Foreigner holds that title.
Similarly, when I think of the 80's it can feel almost like I've lost a close relative, with songs such as this and numbers by Icehouse triggering that feeling!
My dad used to love this song, he had it on cassette he'd play in his car really often. I've had this on Spotify since I got the app.. my dad passed away in July 2021.. he was diagnosed with cancer on the very last stage and the doctors couldn't do anything cause it had spread to his lungs, kidneys, liver, bladder and arteries.. This always reminds me of him now.. brings tears to my eyes cause how much he cared.. He'd always picked me from work, dropped me off and we'd talk about everything and anything. He'd stay up late waiting for me when I was out for dinner "who's gonna tell you, it's too late" He would talk to me about the issues we faced financially "who's gonna tell you things, aren't so great" And now that he's gone I can't "go on thinking nothing's wrong" He was always there when I was broken "who's gonna pick you up when you fall" "Who's gonna pay attention to your dreams?" He never had me spend anything for anything other than the things that I needed and wanted I had everything I wanted cause he was there for me. For us. 😭 He paid for my education all the way through to the end. And I feel like I wasn't even able to make up for it. I'm happy I got to spend his last days right by his side. He held my hand so tight every time in the last few days, he was unable to speak but I always felt like he wanted to say something to me.. May his soul rest in peace. ❤️😭 This song shall forever remind me of him. Even though I know that's not the intended meaning behind the video or the song but that's the beauty of the song, it could translate to a specific thing for the different audience.
I can totally relate to everything you wrote here. Beautifully written. Thank you for sharing your experience. Hopefully it serves as a reminder to all that life is truly precious, and much too short.
I’m 53. I remember when this song first came out in 1984. I was 17 that year. This sure brings back a lot of memories of a different time and different place. Not crazy like it is these days.
I was lucky enough to see them in June 1984 at the Forest Hills outdoor stadium in Queens, NY. When they played this song, a mist of rain covered the arena. I will never forget this experience!
yep billy jean head over hills every breath you take drive take on me careless whisper cant get any better than those 6.. i mean yes it is very hard to do top 6 80s songs but the quality of music was so much greater... just amazing

Yes, girl me to except not in the store, just stumbled into this song lol had to replay more than once. Yes the 80s will hold onto me for fund memories.
Drive was one of the greatest songs of the 80s. I didn’t know it at the time, but it’s about his girlfriend who’s a drug addict and he’s asking her all those questions, finally realizing there’s no hope for her or their relationship. I think this song touches everyone in some way. There’s nothing made today that comes close to the music of the 70s and 80s.
I didn't know that, thanks for the songs true back story and meaning. funny how we add our own meaning but I suppose that's what true autistic music is all about. a song for everyone who needs it in their own way
It wasn't specifically about addiction as her issue (but could be applied) as much as it was a very unhealthy mental issue. (unstable) Gorgeous song. Painfully.
So true Lauren. I grew up in that era. Interesting, we never really knew how unique that period was is it just seemed like it would always be that way. Heres a question for you: what do you think created that era and such a positive period of time...?
My all-time fave song ever!! Sooo beautiful, haunting, transports me back to the greatest decade ever. Miss Ben Orr's iconic voice. Gorgeous man & one of the best bands around 💓
Couldn't agree with you more!! I'm 58 yrs old now !! I used to listen to this song on MTV! And on the radio ! I still love it!! What an incredible voice!
One of the best, sweetest and well arranged song of all time....Ben voice was the perfect selection for this song.... this is why it sound so great... and always will....R.I.P brother.
My Dad was born in 61'. He loved classic cars and he loved this band among others. I remember him working in the garage on his days off from the fire department, 70s and 80s music playing. When he had parties he would make playlists and it was just good times. Besides being a good father, he was also a great person. Having looked back on his life, I think he unknowingly discovered the secret of life. He may not have known it, but I aspire to be everything he was. I travel a lot for my job, and on my way home every night I listen to a lot of the songs he loved and pretend he's riding next to me. Tonight I listened to this and kept it repeating. RIP, dad. Gone way too soon.
Chris Capers, those are amazing words and memories you have of your Dad. I love my 3 kids with all of my heart and I’ve been raising them by myself for the past 5 years. My daughter is 18, my older son is 16, and my youngest son is 11. They love the 80’s and have been inspired to listen to this generation of music that i enjoyed in my younger years before I ever thought i would be a Dad. I hope one day my kids remember me the way you remember your Dad.
I'm an 80s baby. Born 1981. Ive always said I'd put the 80s decade of music against any other decade and it could hold its own! The variety of music that emerged from the 80s is incomparable in my opinion. Im 42 now but this music brings me right back to my childhood. Im making an 80s youtube megamix playlist and this song has a permanent place!
I agree. I was 15/16 in 1981 so I got to experience all that great music as new & count myself lucky to have seen many of the great bands in concert back then & at the time it's just what was out there. The reality of how great & diverse the current music of the 80's was may have been a little lost on us at the time. All we knew was we just loved it but looking back It's sweeter now because of the memories. Every band had a distinct sound & their own identity.
I listened to this music today while riding my bike down the road at sunset. This music took me back to my school days and reminded me of my first love. I think any of their sweet music is the best to listen to while running while watching the sunset. It's a true masterpiece.
Man,I was 21 in 1984. Living in San Francisco at that time was magnificent. Such good times good friends and great memories of those days. The city was still pretty clean and relatively safe,no homeless encaencampments. Would go back in a heartbeat.
You can literally experience what it was like in the 80's if you leave your cell phone home and go out to a mall or city or restaurant for an hour. Seriously, i'm not trying to be funny or anything. It's a lot like how it was then. I do it sometimes when i walk or go for a bike ride. Like going back in time for a bit
I listen to the radio at work for 10 hours a day. This unfortunately is one of those songs that doesn’t get nearly enough rotation but when it comes on the whole kitchen is listening to it.
Are there any songs this beautiful internet thread can recommend? I think the synth sounds give it such a ethereal, nostalgic feeling of floating in a car at night. Tears For Fears and Kim Carnes gives me this feeling too.
This is one of those songs that defines a special moment in our lives. What a beautiful song! Songs like this will be remembered for all eternity. Who's with me?

Verse 1] Who's gonna tell you when It's too late? Who's gonna tell you things Aren't so great? [Chorus] You can't go on Thinking nothing's wrong, oh no Who's gonna drive you home Tonight? [Verse 2] Who's gonna pick you up When you fall? Who's gonna hang it up When you call? Who's gonna pay attention To your dreams? Who's gonna plug their ears When you scream? [Chorus] You can't go on Thinking nothing's wrong, oh no Who's gonna drive you home Tonight? [Verse 3] Who's gonna hold you down When you shake? Who's gonna come around When you break? [Chorus] You can't go on Thinking nothing's wrong, oh no Who's gonna drive you home Tonight? You know you can't go on Thinking nothing's wrong, oh no Who's gonna drive you home Tonight?
I used to dance to this song in my bedroom at night, alone, or so I thought....little did I know I was actually watching myself from my backyard through a pair of vintage, bronze coated binoculars....I eventually got a restraining order - but that only worked for a short time....soon after I'd be shaving and then out of nowhere - I'd be staring back at me in the mirror...I can't say much more because I'm probably reading this over my own shoulder...but, even the other day I was walking home late at night through a dark alleyway and I could hear footsteps...getting closer and closer....but every time I stopped the footsteps also stopped....then when I started walking again...I could hear them...clip...clop....clip...clop....it was then I realized I was banging two coconut shells together
@@tiarnan76 Oh yeah... Mescaline sure was great.... Hold on... What are you talking about? These guys are one of the best Bands and it's odd I haven't heard this in years. 🤔🤔🤔😜😜😜😜
Made me cry!!! This song reminds me of sleeping over at my best friend's house, staying up late on a hot summer night out on the screen porch, listening to the radio...
There was sincerity, realness, back in the 80's. When these iconic artists performed. Nowadays, most of the so called "music" is hollow, without true substance. Billy Idol, The Cars, Hall&Oates, Zapp & Roger, Chaka Khan Michael Jackson, Prince, Huey Lewis, Grand Master Flash, Sugar Hill Gang, , L.L. Cool J just to name a few brought us into mindset of the realities of life!! There are some great young artists today. Taking nothing from these young performers, but, in my reserved opinion, they all "pale in comparison" to the Old School Artists. The Mood the soul, the experiences of my day, were expressed through their songs!
I´m brazilian and I´m 41. In my opinion 80's was the best decade of my life. I love all musics and always listen to remember of the past and to inspire me to the future.

@@nellythedragon1447 I disagree. I believe that if there was a way to measure relative happiness of ones youth I would give 4 to 1 odds that kids back then have it way better than kids from... Say 2012 onward.
@@nellythedragon1447 to expound on that more there was this particularly brief period in the 90's where everything was in the same space: culture (musical Renaissance), technology (Al Gore's invention), economy (Clinton years), and no wars of oppression (shield&storm were to protect Kuwait and we was seen as liberators again, briefly). I believe this period rivaled the massive boom the Greatest Generation produced in the Golden Age (1945-60).
Ric & his wife Paulina (girl in this video) divorced a couple years ago. So sad that all the great rock singers are slowly dying off. RIP Ric & Ben. Your music is timeless and was a great inspiration to me, and many others.
Holly crap! I remember listening to this song on the radio in my pick-up truck right after a work-out session at a gym not too far from Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska, late 1984 (I was an airman stationed there at the time). Snow was thick on the ground and it was cold as heck outside, but I just sat there in my truck at the gym parking lot listening hypnotized by this enchanting tune.
This song has a place in my heart. I lost my dad 2 years ago to pancreatic cancer. I would drive him to his weekly chemo and radiation treatments that were an hour away and we would talk and listen to music, clearing our minds of this brutal disease. This was one of many songs that would come on and it sticks with me now. I found out later Benjamin Orr died from the same cancer.
Bless you and your sweet dad, may the good memories lift you up. My ex husband-kids father sadly died of the same type of cancer at around the same age as Benjamin. He was also a bass player, makes me sad that our kids, lost their dads so young.
Best memories I have is from the 80's. Being a little kid with no worries. Summer time in the 80's was a very special time for me. Those days are far behind me now, but the memories will be with me forever. Nostalgia.
This band defined what the 80s were. Lots of great hits but this one always stuck out to me as their best track. R.I.P Ben Orr, us fans can only imagine how much more good music could have potentially came from The Cars had you not been taken from us so soon.
80's baby here, this song randomly popped in my head tonight and i had no idea who sang it or the title but finally i found it! Classic 80's right here, childhood feels, miss the 80's.
+blacc beard over and over i see the same comments about the 80´s. I am glad to have lived my high school and college days during that time. I don´t see other years talked about as much as the 80´s. It was a time way before the internet...where we were actually a lot more social and went out instead of being stuck behind a computer screen like most people these days.
+blacc beard .....heard that for sure. It is power tracks like this that bring back all the great tracks and music from the 80's....Fantastic music. What they are playing out there now is CRAP.
You know I've probably heard this song a thousand times if I've heard it once, but on the day you posted this comment I heard it on the radio, I turned up the volume a little bit, and I'm not sure what it was, but it was like I was hearing it for the first time, and now I can't get it (that feeling I had that i was hearing it for the first time), or that feeling you posted about, out of my head. Perhaps something was making connections that day ??

Hello
My parents divorced in the mid 80s. On the weekends my dad would pick up my sister and I, and we would head to Bar Harbor for the day. I distinctly remember the ride home laying in the back of his dodge charger, just finished eating my happy meal, and listening to this song. To this day it stands out as one of my happiest memories in one of the most confusing and saddest periods of my life. My dad passed away the beginning of this year. We didn't always see eye to eye, but I miss him so much. I'm so grateful for this song and the memories that come with it. Love you dad.

Great memories for you. I remember picking up my daughter for the weekend and then taking her home on Sunday nights. Crying to this song.

Thoughts with you from Cambridge , England ! Some songs can just hit you hard , but you wouldn't want to be without them ! Good wishes .
Your comment brought tears to my eyes 😢. May your Mum rest in peace 🙏. Sending hugs your way. ❤
Look what they left us in life's path
The older you get the more important it is to have some memories that you can call upon when every you need them that will calm you. The internet is a great place to revive some forgotten and calming memories. Why we are here.
That's the beautiful thing about the 80's music. The time and music were magical. We just didn't know it.
That's beautiful!
That is awesome!
Danced to this on my wedding day in 1984 with my lovely wife who was my soul mate. Now taken from me. Until we meet again my love. Stephen x
Stay strong Stephen. I’m gonna dance to this at my wedding too.
Your comment brought a lump to my throat - it's a beautiful song.
Lovely sentiment, thinking of you.

If you blessed to be alive in the 80’s then you heard some of the greatest songs and artists of all time.
Amen to that! I lived it and miss it so much.

@Lone Wolf I’m 28 and I’ve always loved the early to mid 80s music
@@izzyselph Check out 'Foreigner 4'. Classic album from one of the best bands out there.

One of the greatest pop songs ever produced-absolute masterpiece.
God bless you.🙏🙏
I hope things turned out OK for you. A sad story.
I completely agree with your last statement. And bless you, I hope things go well with you and your family in the future!
Thank you 😙
Wow, that's amazing. Glad she pulled through and is mostly fine, as is her baby. This song takes me back to good memories when I was just a teen.
Ben Orr had the looks, the voice, and the stage presence. Ric had the brains, innovation, and creativity. Together just brilliant and stunningly beautiful.
I dunno. Lots of us chicks were pretty damn jealous of Paulina over Ric. Dude was definitely hot. Rest in Joy, old man. Rock on. 🙋🌟👏💞
In the end, Ric also got the girl. 😉
Yah, such a great team. I'm not really not sure why the Cars didn't blaze on. Just speculation but maybe they took some time to enjoy the fortune they made and of course Ric did a lot of production work.
Totally. Ben was gorgeous and charismatic. Ric was brilliant and innovative. Together, one of the great musical forces of the 70s/80s.
Didnt know about Ben. I was a little kid in the 80s. This was one i liked. You might think and shake it up are my favs

Yes, I agree! So many nostalgic moments now!😉
My dad used to love this song, he had it on cassette he'd play in his car really often.
He'd stay up late waiting for me when I was out for dinner "who's gonna tell you, it's too late"
He would talk to me about the issues we faced financially "who's gonna tell you things, aren't so great"
And now that he's gone I can't "go on thinking nothing's wrong"
He was always there when I was broken "who's gonna pick you up when you fall"
"Who's gonna pay attention to your dreams?" He never had me spend anything for anything other than the things that I needed and wanted I had everything I wanted cause he was there for me. For us. 😭
He paid for my education all the way through to the end. And I feel like I wasn't even able to make up for it.
I'm happy I got to spend his last days right by his side. He held my hand so tight every time in the last few days, he was unable to speak but I always felt like he wanted to say something to me.. May his soul rest in peace. ❤️😭
This song shall forever remind me of him.

Drive was one of the greatest songs of the 80s. I didn’t know it at the time, but it’s about his girlfriend who’s a drug addict and he’s asking her all those questions, finally realizing there’s no hope for her or their relationship. Hi I recommend A song and video that's Called 'Life Changes' by Robert Nix

I agree. I was 15/16 in 1981 so I got to experience all that great music as new & count myself lucky to have seen many of the great bands in concert back then & at the time it's just what was out there. The reality of how great & diverse the current music of the 80's was may have been a little lost on us at the time.
A classic that's always a great memory for me of younger day's when life was simple and beautiful.
Life was much simpler in the 80's
Definitely 80s was the best music
Those days were indeed very special...and will be in our memories for as long as we live.
👍👍👍👍

Isso que é música de Amor ❤
This song will never get faded for generations to come. It should be top ten on the billboard forever.
I agree 💯🤜🤛
I’m im
It was a Top 5 hit in the UK twice, first in October 1984 and again almost a year later following its use in Live Aid.
🤜🤛
I still get goosebumps from this song. 80's are unrivaled!
Couldnt say it any better!
Ever listen to Future
@@justincox2479 hes sh*t like every other rapper
@justincox2479 bro I love future but why are you asking this on a legendary 80s song video? I'm hella curious lol
I suggest you to explore some new music. There is still great tunes
80's...just GREAT!!
@@EdwardSanchezdoble9 I still try. Yeah "Blinding Lights" by "The Weeknd" was great but most suckz IMO.
The 80s was the best yrs of my life!
🙋♂️brazilian, 37 years old
I love 80's music!
Nothing else to say just close your eyes and listen to pure bliss ❤
My wife died last year from Alzeimers disease and this song was played at her funeral-one of her favourites. R.I.P. Marie xx
Sorry for your lost😓 buddy. That was probably the worst day of your life ever you had to live. I hope you take comfort knowing she's in a better place. If theres such a thing called after life when its all our time to go, i KNOW she'll be the first person you'll be looking and asking for
@@roderickrayside2516 very well said....
RIP Marie
Sorry for your loss 😓
From France 🌬💕💕💕 for Marie ✨ sorry for you ! 😞
We just didn’t realize how good we had it…never thought our world would be like it is now..😞
We can bring it back, no one wants to live like this.
It isn’t that bad now and it wasn’t that great then. It’s all relative. Don’t believe the media
Nothings wrong, pork pie ❤
This will always be one of the most beautiful songs ever.
I agreed, watch the live aid version. Ben orr did an amazing job live..rest in peace ben o and rick o.
Yes, it is, very much....
The 80's the best time of my life
@@abeldelarosa539 the late great Benjamin Orr. RIP
Gabriela en tú vehículo por la carretera y esta música genial, saludos desde Curicó Chile 💪🇨🇱💪:pd:ya estas en el vehiculo😆😆😆
You only realise how special the music was from 60s to 80s until you are well outside of that period.
I have always loved The Cars and love all their songs but this one really hits on another level. To me, by far, their best song.
naaaa, theyre best love song maybe
this song, time after time of Cindy laupoer and only the lonely of the motels are the only ones that make me cry
Ben Orr did a great job.
Rest in Peace Ric and Ben. A beautiful song and such a beautiful wife.
True
Amazing. The beginning of their lives with each other.
what happened there?
Sadly they were separated.
This is my after-broken-heart music...
I was on the 3rd grade 1986 when my teacher used to play her radio and this song was one of her favorite.. A song like this will never be forgotten
There's an *awesome* new 80's influenced band today called Fire Tiger..
Search: Fire Tiger - Energy
Chase Jones
There great! Thanks
Great memory you have there my friend. And you picture it just fine for us. Thank you.
A timeless classic, just gorgeous ❤❤❤
This is one of my absolute all time favourite songs. It always gives me chills.
Same

Bien por ti

@Perry Night es tan sentimental
My sincere condolences to you on the loss of your Dad. I hope you are well!
You are lucky that you and your Dad had a relationship. So sorry for your loss.
Maybe ironic is a wrong word here… a coincidence probably
sorry for your loss…
Losing a dad that you could connect to is very painful..
Sorry for your loss
Bless you and your sweet dad, may the good memories lift you up. My ex husband-kids father sadly died of the same type of cancer at around the same age as Benjamin. He was also a bass player, makes me sad that our kids, lost their dads so young.
Takes me back to the summer of 84,high school times. What a time machine this song is for me!!
Song from the 1980s. It brings back memories of my time in high school. If only I could go back in time, I would definitely do so.
Best memories I have is from the 80's. Being a little kid with no worries. Summer time in the 80's was a very special time for me. Those days are far behind me now, but the memories will be with me forever. Nostalgia.
bullshit world
It was a divine gift being an 80s kid/teen. Everything (culture, clothes, hair, attitude) was magical!
... And of course music!!!
Viajo nesta música.
@@gertneetesonne3176 I feel the same exact way.
This band defined what the 80s were. Lots of great hits but this one always stuck out to me as their best track. R.I.P Ben Orr, us fans can only imagine how much more good music could have potentially came from The Cars had you not been taken from us so soon.
But their best stuff was in the 70s
@Michael Franco Sure. Where Jimi Hendrix Experience or The Doors also one hit wonder bands?
Chofe Chofito just ignore him he's a Justin Bieber lover.
80's baby here, this song randomly popped in my head tonight and i had no idea who sang it or the title but finally i found it! Classic 80's right here, childhood feels, miss the 80's.
amen to that brother.
same here!
+blacc beard I just had exactly the same Moment i swear. ^^
Music really unites
When people think of the Cars they think Ric Ocasek. But Benjamin Orr sang all their biggest hits.
which i find really weird
Yes true ..Benjamin Orr Rip Ben
There are certain 80’s songs that give me an overwhelmingly painful and bittersweet sense of nostalgia. This is definitely one of them.
Same - my heart breaks wishing I could go back.
You ALWAYS post the same shit! 🙄
