I had a kia and loved it. A few years ago there was a recall and I took it in. Nothing was wrong with my car when it went in, it took a month to get it back because they 'didn't have the right part' and then when i drove it off the lot I didn't even make it down the block before my engine failed. I didn't get my car back for four months, every time I called there was a new issue. They put 3 different engines in my car the first was faulty and the second failed again as I was taking it home. When I finally got my car back I took it strait to another dealer and got a new car. Never getting a kia again and I would absolutely never recommend getting repairs done at kia. They clearly have zero concern for safety and only care about making profit. The more issues your car has the more money they're going to make.
I'm going through this right now. It's literally in the shop as I speak having the engine replaced. They're doing it for free, but that's not the point. I will never buy another kia. It's 2021, I thought we figured out how to build cars by now, but I guess not.
This is disgusting. He was fired for attempting to stop engine fires. Whistleblowers like him are fired all over the country and rarely receive any compensation.

@@noelaguirre7104 You pulled that opinion out of your ass. I've worked in employee law for three decades and whistleblowers rarely receive any settlement. Most law practices won't take the cases unless it's a slam dunk case against a large corporation like Microsoft or Amazon among others. So, they generally quit or are forced out. It's usually the latter. So you do some research before posting something you heard on the radio, tv or some other uninformed drinking buddy.
On my way home from work the Kia sedona I was driving shut off and caught fire. Will never buy a Kia product again. Was told by the Kia dealer in kingsport tennessee it was My problem. NO MORE KIA.
Just happened to me last week. Kia won't do a damn thing. Unreal they can get away with this. We paid 12000 for it and we are supposed to just trash it? We are dead broke poor. How come one of the most expensive necessities in life is one of the only things that a very successful 15 billion in profit company is not responsible for producing fair product. I just can't wrap my head around it. Of course I'm never buying another Kia again but my sale won't be missed. Sad.
Same happened to me .They do t give a fuck about us .My dealership blamed me and refused contact after they saw the vehicle .The engine was replaced by them and exactly 30 days later went up in flames as I was driving down I-95 to pick up a friend .I have photos
Here in Douglas, Cork,Ireland,an Opel,(G.M) Zafira caught fire in a high rise carpark one night, completely destroying the car park. The whole carpark and adjoining shopping mall was shut down for 18 months!!! Opel Zafiras and Opel Omegas have regularly caught fire all over Europe, but if course,GM will deny it is a big problem.
Some times engineers design something that can't be serviced at all nor as realistically. It's easy to design a compact engine, but it needs to be serviced; that's one of the big disconnects, from the top to the bottom. Our instructors hammer this in our heads for these kinds of reasons.
If they require some of the engineers and designers on the team to actually service every part of the vehicle prototype as part of the design process, they would avoid so many issues.
designers often made ideas that isnt practical in the vehicles , sometimes even dangerous. engineers are the one thaat usually have to deal with the rest of mess
@@lqfr8813 I agree but that's what happens when you think of engineering and styling as 2 separate functions. IMO "design" happens when you integrate the two.

1:05, it looks like where the two fuel lines come together is cross-threaded. I suspect one is a replacement (recall) and is out of tolerance, and then the technician trys to bend it, and damages it, or simply cross-threads it...
To "feel" a cross thread is like a talent. Not everyone can feel when a nut is cross threading, most will think it grabbed but needs to be tightened by wrench and they do so and causing it to cross thread. If this is a cross thread issue, now it becomes a problem because you have high press fuel flowing thru there. Any other normal cross threaded nut or bolt would not pose an issue depending on what it was securing or holding down ... You have to have the "feel" to know when its cross threading and when to back it out and start over, times like this wearing gloves does not help, you need actual human skin feel on the nut or bolt to "feel" if its cross threading or not. Same as screwing a tapcon into concrete, you have to know when to stop or else it will strip out in the hole if you keep turning it.
@@ACommenterOnTH-cam you don't have to have a feel for it you just need to have common sense. If you cannot thread a bolt/screw in by hand until it "butts up" then you're cross threading it. @@SweatyPotatoChip well you fail to realize that we have MILLIONS of people out there with NO COMMON sense. Common sense does not teach you this. Does common sense teach you that there are bolts with reverse threads on them so that you with all the common sense in the world can't figure out that the nut has to be screwed in REVERSE ... Really if this could have happened while I was doing 70 on the highway I would have been fucked. From what I'm reading, these cars are a deathtrap. 95k mile engine failure, ZERO oil on the dispstick, no leaks or warning lights beforehand? I'm switching back to Toyota, end of story.
My 2015 Kia is fine so far. Not a whole lot of mileage yet. I took my Camry in for a routine State inspection. I wasn’t having problems. I was given a $4000.00 bill. I will never do Toyota again!
@@summerchild9548 Oof, yeah I never had an issue with my Toyota, sounds like a transmission. Can't wait to get a Tacoma, closest thing to a Helux we can get in the US. There's a really good reason why they call it the War Chariot of the Third World.
I hope the whistleblower is safe, since we know how corrupt & EVIL corporations can be. This is an incredibly tragic story. I cannot believe that our government, who oversees the auto industry, allows this deadly negligence to go on. People are dying because of the fires and people are barely escaping their cars. 2015 Optima ex here - my motor just failed 3 hours ago on my way to work.. Only 95k miles, kept up on all my oil changes minus this one which I'm at just about 4k over - from what I've always understood was 5k was the max (between school, work, and a newborn I've been super busy and tax time was when I'm planning a full tune up). Bought from a second hand dealer at 66k miles and only 1 previous owner. Engine seized up when all dash lights lit up (luckily) right after I got off the highway. Tow truck driver came and found that my oil dipstick was absolutely DRY. I've had ZERO warning lights pop up at all in the past 6 months, like I said I usually keep up with everything and I did all of my own brake work (pads, rotors, calipers) so this came out of nowhere to me. Last car I owned was a 2002 Solara/Camry and with the same care lasted for 200k.. The suspense is killing me, can anybody shed some light?
@invidinvasion Funny you say that because KIA corporate seems to disagree. Failed engine was completely exchanged on their buck due to a lifetime warranty on the defect. If I had voided that in any way, that warranty would have been nullified. Good thing every oil change I had was on paper because well.. I guess I'm not a dumbass. At least you tried.
@invidinvasion Here's some more info, KIA now has a "product improvement" policy on the Theta II variants, that's how mine was covered. m.carcomplaints.com/news/2017/kia-lawsuit-connecting-rod-bearings-oil-flow.shtml
@invidinvasion Actually from the sound of it you seem to be more mechanically inclined, so maybe you can help me out now that we've been so intertwined by fate.. Since the 2015 Kia Optima EX came back, I've had the ABS and traction light on. I didn't leave the lot before going back into the dealership who replaced the engine (again for free under KIA HQ case number) to ask them about it. They said it had nothing to do with the engine and that I could leave it with them but I'd have to pay for another diag. So naturally I told them to blow me. So I had a more mechanically inclined friend (his name was Jake btw) with an OB plug in last night at work and have a look. Nothing came up at all. So now I have both fuse boxes open and you can help another person out in real time. How about it?
Non admittance to these grave dangers forever haunts car makers like Kia and Hyundai. Toyota took a hit with the scandal of unintended engine acceleration, and was able to recover. Always protect the name. Stick with Toyota, Honda or Subaru's.
You also forgot the dissolving frame issue with Toyota Tacoma’s, 4runners, FJ cruisers, and Tundras. The frames on these vehicles suffered terminal corrosion and basically rotted away right out from under dear you

I don't know if this will reach you, but I'm having the same concerns now. My car under-went the engine test and supposedly passed, yet a month and a half later my engine is now gone. I'm still paying on the loan as well and want to get rid of it all together but can't afford to start over. Have you gotten a new engine yet: By the way I live in MS.
My daughters Kia Soul had her engine replaced for this recall but soon after her engine was replaced I had to get her a new battery and other parts on the outside of the engine my go because of the new engine,ex. I had to replace the purge valve and purge valve selinoid which they should have told me that when the new engine was replaced certain components on the outside of the engine might go ,that was my fault though I should have known but they didn’t have the b&lls to tell me but thankfully i did that myself and saved 600 dollars yes 600 to replace that part and battery I got the battery and the part myself and it wasn’t even half the price 🤦🏽♂️
My 08 accent blew up in 2018. The exhaust went at the same time as the my power steering rack did. Thankfully the rack blew in my driveway and I had the loss of power issues as well. Take it to dealership!!! Mine caught on fire at the dealership. I was due for an oil change and had some concerns with my car. Next thing I get a called from the dealership… i was told that it caught on fire and the engine seized. I’m going through that right now.
I have a 2015 Sportage and received a recall on it. Stating there is a problem with the electric wiring that could cause a fire at any time. I called the Kia Dealer where I got the car and ask when can you fix the problem. They stated I would need to wait for a second letter to come before they will fix it. this been about three weeks now and still no letter from Kia.
I waited over a year to get my Tucson scheduled for that fuse box update for the ABS module. But since a 2022 just flamed out, I doubt that's the problem. Maybe our ethanol in the gas is eating O-rings...
2017 Kia Sportage with 102k interstate miles. No issues to date. Only had problems when the dealer insisted on doing recall work they broke my car and I had to bring it back. And those plastic power window parts that break so easily….
Most if not all dealerships have no supervision there’s no one that inspects the techs work they rely on that one person to perform the work correct they never have a floor manager that is a big problem in dealerships and so dangerous
We had a fuel leak on our 2014 Sonata. The dealer had addressed the recall issue without letting us know that they had done anything while in for a routine oil change. Their idea of fixing a potential fuel Leak on a high pressure fuel line was a piece of cloth tape and a zip tie. I guess their lawyers told them that this would do the trick. When the car started leaking gas on to the top of the engine where the tape and zip tie was attached the dealer didn't want to consider this repair as part of the recall. I stood my ground and got it fixed. It was at their shop for over 2 month, while all the soy boys stayed home and played computer games in their pajamas. It was only after this I found on TH-cam all of the fires related to the same problem. What a bunch of jerks.
Amazing, it sounds like some of their dealerships are almost as incompetent as their engineers. Were you able to sell this car or be reimbursed for it ?
I had a Kia Sportage that caught on fire 5 times as I drove through the pass between Eagle Nest NM and Angel Fire NM!!! I couldn't afford to buy another vehicle, so I was stuck with it! I was a single parent and one of the times it caught on fire my son was with me! The first time it happened a car behind me in that pass was flashing its headlights and blowing its horn. We opened the hood and all we had to put the fire out was some soda pops!

Wow, bad dealer. My 2017 Sportage was using 1 qt. in 300 miles at 68,000 miles, I was then informed of the valve intake cleaning and combustion chamber cleaning, I got it done for $650, traded it off for a 2017 RDX which cost an additional $13,000. Make sure you have the knock sensor update, fuse box update, and oil change receipts. You will have a lifetime warranty. And if you don't live in a cold area, try 5w30 or 10w30 full synthetics.
Why I buy American. Sure, they have issues also, but the only time I recall things burning was that brake-fluid issue on Ford's a while back, like in the 90's.
Been driving American since a 59' Eldorado, will never go back, Korean cars fires and all are better than most American cars. My 89' Dodge Daytona CS Turbo was my best car, regretting selling it within 6 months.
2015 sorrento sx 166,000 miles and never failed to start. Still starts right up no problem. 2014 soul 144,000 miles and a small oil leak. Still starts right up. 2020 stingergt2 60,000 miles and not one problem. They are all reliable because I do NOT take them to the dealership. End of story.
Thank goodness for whistle blowers. Companies should do the Right Thing to begin with. THEN people would view them in a positive light. The fact that the companies didn't care and people have been injured and died will come back to seriously haunt them.
Problem is people like the Warranty manager they talk about are Peter Principled out in their jobs and incapable of making sound judgements at the level they need to.

May 2nd, 2022: "Kias and Hyundais continue to burn after 5.8 million cars and SUVs recalled". That's *three* years after this report and *FIVE* whole years after the first complaint and warning from one of their own employees that we know of.... Not a good look... And I want a Hyundai Veloster so bad. But I'm scared lol, I can't afford to have my car try to kill me. Financially or mentally, I don't want to go through it. :(
@Redd Columbine I don't know cars. I'm looking for a used car in Quebec right now, and am open to spend around 7500$ but I'm not finding anything in that range except many Hyundais. I was looking at a Veloster 2012 and Elentra 2014. I was told by the inspector I hired and a friend of a friend who knows cars more than I do to avoid 2012-2016 Elentras because even the cars that were recalled and had new engines wound up with fucked up engines. (So I was told this twice by two people who don't know each other before even watching these videos on TH-cam. The other video I referenced (which can also be found on TH-cam) features, amongst other things, a whistle blower that used to work for Hyundai and was saying that the work they did on the recalls at his old place of work was often botched. So it was my understanding that if I were to buy one from those years, it would always be a gamble. Whether the previous owners got new engines from Hyundai or not, I would be taking a chance. So what I was saying was that I think these cars look great. But I know nothing about cars so I'm scared to buy Hyundais from that year.
So what about resale value?. Part of what Kia should do about this, when you want to sell one of these cars the dealership should offer the amount of money as though the problem never happened. Otherwise you probably not going to be able to sell one of these for more than a couple of hundred bucks.
There are probably millions of Kia/Hyundais world wide, other countries, except S. Korea, don't seem to be having our problems, maybe due to heavier oil... People are still buying them, most don't know about the fires.
Not every one knows about the issues...so if car is in decently good shape could get a couple grand. Just so long it does not have the singed look, you are good. Maybe it is the ODD GOOD ONE that got through production.
?.....hmmm couple hunred bucks, eh ? Well, i'd tow/drive it to the metal re-cycle place.; thereby giving it a permanent home......oh sorry. I meant to the 'plastic ' re-cycle center.....

Ya know what ? At least they acknowledge the problem and here in Canada at least they are fixing it. Unlike my Suburban transmission failure which was covered up in their dealer service bulletins and numerous other coverups over airbags fuel tank etc etc
The problem isn't the cars, its the under trained, unprofessional dealership people who are working on them. I took a 2015 in for service and a recall in 2017. I get a call saying it was done, I get there minutes before they closed, pay the bill, get my keys and hop in my car. I immediately knew something was wrong, the car started differently, and I smelled gas before I even moved the car. I popped the hood and saw there was a pressurized fuel leak down behind the engine. I shut it down, went to find someone but they were locked up and gone. Figuring that if they weren't smart enough to do it right the first time, I wasn't giving them another chance. I called a buddy with a trailer, we hauled it back home and I fixed it. I returned to the dealer the next day with a video of the leak and they shrugged it off, saying "That happens sometimes, just bring it back". Fat chance. I fixed it, called their service hotline and bitched but got no where. I ran into a former employee there and was told that they have a habit of hiring too many 'kids' or inexperienced techs because they work cheaper. Safety suffers because of it. Its not just Kia/Hyundai, its all of the brands, they pay techs flat rate, labor rates are less then what it really takes to do the job correctly so it forces guys to cut corners and not take their time to do it right. When the techs are inexperienced or not trained properly you get this sort of crap all the time. Guys have to buy their own tools, pay for their uniforms and union dues, and many are now paying for their health benefits too. A tech making $20/hr is taking home the pay someone in another industry would get at half that amount. Its not hard to figure why they can't find good techs and new techs don't stay long. A tech makes $800, they take out $431 in taxes, insurance, and dues, then he's got a $200/wk tool bill to pay to the Snap On guy. That don't leave much in the end, and new models mean new tools, training is now out of the techs time and pocket, they get told to do their training online at home vs. years ago when they sent each tech to a factory facility to work on and learn on real cars, not some computer video. Techs with real world experience and gut instincts got hired, not guys who have a piece of paper saying they went to a tech school because it sounded good at the time. I'm long since out of the car business, but if things were like they are now back when i started, I'd have gone and flipped burgers instead and likely made the same money in the end.
All manufacturer are stupid for going to DFI fuel system on gasoline engines they all are ticking time bomb , people should ask if their car has DFI fuel system and leave them alone before buying, they all dumps too much raw gasoline inside the oil and destroys the engine and more likely to catch fire if there is an oil leak . they all also have 2 or 3 fuel pumps and fuel pressure around 2000 psi where as the older design cars fuel pressure only goes up to around 60psi or less . I hate all DFi gasoline fuel injected engines they're a waste of time money and fire hazard with there extreemely high fuel pressure . The oil that comes out of a DFI engine after an oil change can't even be recycled because it has too much gasoline in it so I can't see the good in that kind of fuel system that destroys engine oil.
2022 and Hyundais and Kia cars are still blowing up. New models Hyundais are seizing their engines around 60,000 miles and Hyundai STILL won’t fix these engines. Why? Because they will go bankrupt. This isn’t just a few model cars this is happening to. This is millions and millions of vehicles equipped with Thete, Nu engines. Do better Hyundai motors of America. Our lives depend on it.
The problem with most automakers these days aside from Honda and Toyota are they cut corners on everything you can’t see (electronics, engine/transmission internal parts, etc). They make the exterior and interior look great. You couldn’t pay me to buy a Kia or Hyundai.
Honda and Toyota play their games also. Got to be objective not subjective when looking at these issues. Oil/gas mixture, fuel pump issues, they’ve had issues also and still do. Mazda seems to be coming in first place with better design
I’ve personally haven’t had any issues with Honda, Toyota, Nissan, and even VW. But yeah, as Martin said. Honda and Toyota aren’t saints here and people need to stop treating them like they are. Honda is notorious for their transmission issues and Toyota is about to be in the same boat.
I have a Hyundai sonata hybrid 2014 and it had 36k on it when I bought it now it has 119k but it's been in the shop 3 times this year and my brakes went out twice im looking for a new vehicle its good on gas but Im concerned more about safety!!
I had a 2012 Sorento with the 2.4 engine. It started using lots of oil at around 60,000 miles. It took me working with my KIA dealer to finally get the vehicle in at 92,000 miles for an engine rebuild. That rebuild only lasted 60,000 miles before it started using lots of oil again. KIA knew they had a crappy engine starting in 2011 and they just kept using it for years. That is a car company that does not care. Too bad - I like the cars.....
Sadly, that was probably the top ring had a carbon up. A combustion chamber cleaning would have probably taken care of it, suggest probably every 50k miles. Valve intake cleanings are suggested for about every 15k miles also. And Kia/Hyundai don't put these on the maintenance schedule.
What are the twitter accounts for Jason Vaughn, Jonathon Walsh and Katie Ussin ? That was an important part of the story that Katie threw-in at the end of this report.
How about manditory Fire extinguisher in all cars for savety????? Nooo, it's too hard, people are damn to the point that it's too hard this days to do that or change own tire on the road, this world leads to the end very soon.
There are millions on the road world wide, seems the USA is having the biggest problem with them, maybe because our corrupt government forces 5w20 and lower for .001 more mpg.
Instead of a brand new Kia, I'd buy a used Toyota, it's not a difficult choice. Even a used Toyota is easily twice the car even with 50,000 miles on it.
And what is a brand new Kia after you drive off the lot? A used Kia, and I would rather have a used Toyota than a used Kia. But with that being said, if I needed to lease a car for a couple of years the Kia might not be a bad option.

Unfortunately there are millions of these on the road world wide, it seems to be happening here in the US and S.Korea only so far as I can tell. Make sure you have the knock sensor update, have receipts for oil changes, and make sure there are no recalls for the fuse box dealing with the ABS module. You will at least have a lifetime engine warranty. But ya, I got rid of our 2017 Sportage, and thinking of doing the same with the 2016 Tucson. Also, these GDI motors need a valve intake cleaning every 15k miles or so, and combustion chamber every 50k miles, total price about $650. I also used 10w30 full synthetics.
And now, another "fire hazard" recall, which, currently, has no fix and my car already blew up from THIS recall. At what point, does the word "lemon" become applicable? Here and now, would be an excellent time...

That is true, I saw KIA car burning in the I-75 in Troy Michigan.

@Redd Columbine Some of the cars have been brand new, like the 2022 that flamed out in the driveway. They didn't resolve the problem.

Thats what happens when you build a korean car in alabama by lazy ass american workers
Other countries say they aren't having this huge problem, maybe the ethanol in our gas is destroying O-rings.
Honda is notorious for their transmission issues and Toyota is about to be in the same boat.
lmao Honda and Toyota make one of the crappiest cheap interiors
3 yrs later & still the same problems? 🤔
Everyone saying to get an EV must have never seen how hard one those are to put out!
They are currently coming up with new/different batteries for EVs, the current ones cause more pollution that ICE to produce.
Very true. Research just how these are “good” for the environment. Yeah, right
I have a Hyundai sonata hybrid 2014 and it had 36k on it when I bought it now it has 119k but it's been in the shop 3 times this year and my brakes went out twice im looking for a new vehicle its good on gas but Im concerned more about safety!!
My engine just broke
No Hyundai or Kia for me
Yet people keep buying these.🙄🚒
Most of us didn't know about the Theta II motors catching fire. Only just learned about 6 months ago by accident.
glad I don't own a Hyundai or Kia. Corrupt.
Whistle shld be rehire and promoted and managers shld be fired neglecting mechanical fault causing fire and safety of car owners.
Where is NHTSA?
I have a friend who has a late model KIA Soul. Now I fear for her life in it.
There are literally millions of these cars on the road worldwide, so like any accident, it sucks to be the one.
You mean you fear for her SOUL??
It had been said, hyundai and kia are low quality car brands.
BMW went through the same thing .. but never coughed to it.
Has this been fixed yet?
yes ...
they're sending every KIA owner a Kidde fire EXTINGUISHER ...
no charge ...
good luck ...
keep it close at hand ...

What are the twitter accounts for Jason Vaughn, Jonathon Walsh and Katie Ussin ?
That was an important part of the story that Katie threw-in at the end of this report.

hyundai / kia are family business...
daewoo with american GM company...
LG / samsung are family business
I got a 2009 kia rio 100k km on it and he run like new .. i pay 4500 for it .. csnt beleve people pay over 20k for a brand new car whit full equip.🤯🤯
How about manditory Fire extinguisher in all cars for savety????? Nooo, it's too hard, people are damn to the point that it's too hard this days to do that or change own tire on the road, this world leads to the end very soon.
Hyundai and Kia should face the problems seriously or people will choose other brands instead.Who wants a firetrap and risk their lives!
One word................TOYOTA.
Kia is nothing but a rip off don't not buy that brand and their service department is shity the answer they give u is were sorry
Just take all of them off the market, why wait to someone to die. They are so greedy
I drive an old Hyundai, great car
I have a 2018 KIA soul and after hearing all the fire's engine's blowing up and air bags crap! I'm at the point i don't want thing anymore it's unsafe. I think that kia needs to buy back there crap in full and them maybe they can build something right!
I also used 10w30 full synthetics.
they new about to his already?! OH BOY!
i hope to god they do something cuz i dont want my stinger going up in flames!!
has anyone noticed the new Kia car logo/symbol? Rebranding? Pardon the fire pun
Exactly,I have been wondering why, it doesn't look great too. Now I know why.
That’s why I’ve never and will never buy a Kia or Hyundai. Complete POS!
so they BOUGHT all the cars BACK from their owners ...
due to the obvious DEFECT ...
or INABILITY to resolve it ...
right?
ban Kia and Hyundai! FUVK
Only in the US, other countries claim they are not having this problem.
jeg har aldrig haft problemer med min kia intet
Kia and Hyundai are the worst cars in the entire world.
All Korean Tech and Korean Wave shitttt
I recommend you to buy Subaru vehicles. They are great cars and the safety features are awesome. Subaru is better than Toyota.
No they're not, boxer motors suck.
@@lonniebeal6032 Yes, they are, no they don't!
Not in the sales brochure.
And now, another "fire hazard" recall, which, currently, has no fix and my car already blew up from THIS recall. At what point, does the word "lemon" become applicable? Here and now, would be an excellent time...
What car, what motor? Just got rid of a Sportage, love my 2016 1.6L turbo Tucson, but a few Rios have flammed out.
where the FBI, too busy go after Trump
😂😂😂😂. Good point
Kia and Hyundai deserve to go defunct.
Boycott the product
Why are they replacing the whole engine for a lousy fuel leak?
It's more to it than just that. The engine itself is crap too
Kia claims there were shaving left in the motor which can plug oil passages, but since a 2022 just flammed out in the driveway, they haven't figured it out.
@@jerryfieldz7701 I know 3 people who had over 150,000 miles on their crap motors, so no, that's not it. There's a problem and they haven't figured it out.
@@lonniebeal6032 150k? That's child's play. I have had multiple toyotas with well over 300k on the same motor and trans without the first repair besides timing belts and water pumps as preventive maintenance. I have a lexus rx now with over 270k, only ever replaced fluids like oil, trans fluid, diff and transfer fluid, 1 water pump and brakes. That is it. Kia quality is far from good. We have a Kia spectra in the back yard that won't run and it's got only 130k. We had a optima but got rid of it at 70k cause of all the issues it had.
Bizarre they don't go into specifics of the problem
I don't think they know why yet since a 2022 just flammed out in a driveway.
@@lonniebeal6032 Thanks... if they can see they know what it is it might invite legal accountability. Beancounters assessing what cost more to do.
I agree but it’s been widely reported for years. Theta 2 engine fires in Hyundai’s and Kia’s
And what did you think ?? They would NOT fire you ??
You costed them potentially $$ millions ....
Should have been promoted. He saved the lives of thousands. Sounds like top management are a bunch of work bullies, incompetent and just don’t want to face facts, narcissistic behavior……wait is biden part of Kia and Hyundai also? Lots of similarities 😂😂😂
Hyundai and Kia call it a thermal event. Running one of the largest Hyundai Genesis dealers in Miami Florida I can tell you the problem is real and hyubdai management always gets upset we the works fire 🔥 is used. They tell you specially their factory reps that is a thermal event 🤔🤔🤔🤐
It's a thermal permanent restyling for the better for the car crusher.
Just stick to Honda and Toyota. They have the car thing figured out.
Really?? Better research them both a bit more
Discussed by these companies 👹🔥 NOT DOING THE RIGHT THING UNTIL EXPOSED 😈😈 I hope they go out of business from all the law suits 🙏⚖
I am watching this video from three years ago. I still will not buy a Kia. More than likely never will because of the way they tried to cover it up.
Ah, scary. The guy said he had been saying something to Kia since 2017, and my car is a 2017 Kia Forte. Never had an engine recall on it (at least since I got the car back in 2020), but if this is a recurring problem then maybe I'll look into a different brand when my car is paid off. I'll just continue to drive carefully and get the regular service maintenance as usual.
The Theta II motor is having the most problems, mostly 2.4L, some 2.0L. Make sure you have the knock sensor update, and oil change receipts. If it starts using oil, it will need a valve intake and combustion chamber cleaning.
I’d keep a car rated fire extinguisher in there just in case
Dear Cammy: get rid of it, ASAP. WHY PUT UP with a shoddy, careless company ? Their products, reflect their ' BUSINESS '' MOTTO = fuelled by greed for $$$$$. Safety, what is that "???/ they ask .
