The fact the algorithm gave me this review because the Miku DLC is out now is a blessing.
He knows the distinction between roguelike and lites HE KNOOOOOOOWS
If he did, he'd realize Necrodancer does in fact meet the criteria for roguelike. The only major point against it is that you can't spend as much time as you want thinking about each move... which is the rhythm part of rhythm roguelike.

tbf all zones mode is a roguelike but using the individual zone stairs in a roguelite because of the extra hearts that you can unlock.

I would even take this a step further and say that the average professional reviewer is worse at games (in general) than the average gamer, which is one of a few contributing factors to review scores being lower than user scores.

Another fun fact, _Chipzel_ , the person who made a different chiptune version of the soundtrack, is also the person who did the _Dicey Dungeons_ and _Super Hexagon_ soundtracks.

DR fan and Crypt player here! The DR soundtrack and the characters are brought in from the Danganronpa game series, a visual novel murder mystery game. The reason they're in Crypt is because Spike Chunsoft, the developers of the series, published Crypt of the NecroDancer in Japan markets, and it's BYG's way of saying thank you to them!
I'm surprised you dont have a bigger following. This was super well made and did a really good job of showcasing the best parts of Crypt and its music. Subbed! Keep up the good work! I cant wait to see more from you.

I especially love that you just own being bad at the game. I wish more people had the sincerity to just say they're bad. Most of us are. I've beaten necromancer all zones runs many times and have NEVER beaten the daily challenge because I am bad at the game. It usually takes me several restarts before I get one full clear and never under 20 minutes.

Danganronpa originally is a Mystery fast paced Detective game in form of an anime Light Novel. They added a couple songs from the original games into the Crypt Soundtrack as well as the Skins you funnily mentioned in the Video

the devs, BraceYourselfGames are so incredibly based that after FIVE YEARS they decided to pump out updates and free content as well as anew DLC for the game out of the blue

Not exactly. The new DLC and updates are a fan-made recreation of the entire game. It is still chad to embrace it, rather than shutting it down like SOME companies.

Crypt of the neckrodancer is too underated, i just descovered it because danny baranowsky made super meat boy music, and its JUST AS GOOD as crypt of the neckrodancer, it really deserves more attention, love the video, PLAY SUPER MEAT BOY PLEEEAASSEE
The most important takeaway is that I have learned to not hardcode my TH-camr inspirations into my video or to make jokes about Epic Games ruining the things they buy.
And to quadruple check the artist's label when showcasing their work.
Great video on one of my favorite games! My personal favorite track is Konga conga kappa, due to how unique it is from any other track!

I feel you man. I absolutely LOVE this game and I am TERRIBLE at it. I never beat it, but that didn't stop me from getting the DLC and I will get the new game when it comes out this year.
I don't wanna flex too much but I do feel the same in some ways on not being able to complete Necrodancer, just slowly chugging along while jamming out! I'm stuck on stuff like Aria All Zones and All Characters runs but I haven't quit the game and I doubt I will! I bet you're gonna see improvement in ya gameplay cause clearly you're not gonna be giving up any time soon

Great video! I am watching it for the second time after some months and am still struggling with the game. But it is one of the best video games ever especially with how great it is to just start a zone, play for a while and have a little break from work. Lovin' it~

I love this game, its a 9.5/10 in my eyes but also i have only beaten crypt as bard (the one that takes all the rhythm out of this rhythm game). Cadence of Hyrule is peak too but i prefer that one as death is more forgiving, not being a rogue like.

Crypt is a game I get super addicted to every one in a while and try to grind for the last 3 achievements, even though I know I'll never be able to beat coda or do all char low%.
The one problem I have with this game is that if you want to go through the main story (3 characters Cadence, Melody and Aria get story cutscenes and exclusive end bosses) there is an insane difficulty spike for most players with Aria. I love Aria because I normally just use the dagger and don't skip beats anyway, but compared to Cadence and Melody, Aria is like climbing a mountain with toothpicks since you have to pretty much be flawless. I think having her as part of the story turned some people off and wasn't the best idea.

let me break down: danganronpa is a game basically about highschool students murdering each other to get out of the school they were in when a bear called mono-kuma takes over you play as makoto nae-gi there are 3 dangronpa game and each evolve around the ultmate despair junko eno-shima. hin-ata and chi-aki are from the 2nd game along with mono-mi mono-mi being the only robtic animal that dosent want to kill you thats just a basic recap from the charters you said in the video
