Spot on! 1970 Chargers were also the first year to have the pistol grip shifter. It also was the first year of electric headlight doors as 1968 and 1969 are vacuum.

technically no!😁 for the second gen yes, but 66 and 67 chargers were electric headlight assemblies. so 68 and 69 were the only two years with vacuum. but thats a different video all together

Another note on the door lock relocation from 68 to 69/70. There were consumer complaints about having to reach way back with their right arm to unlock the door causing a discomfort. So Chrysler moved it towards the center of the door for an easier reaching range. Not so sure it was the theft reason as you could do the same with a longer reach tool to a 69/70. But I could be wrong.

To me it's second nature to know the differences on all the chargers..... But to the new to the hobby this a good video showing all the changes in the model years especially for the the younger people who didn't grow up with these cars, I had a kid come up and ask is that a 70 charger? When I had a 70 dart I explained it's different and told him about exports that did come as A body based chargers it's always cool to share and teach those who will be here to take care of our old cars in the future.

Two more differences of early 1968 Chargers: Ash tray and trunk lid underside support. Early 1968 Charger models had 'slide down' ash trays whereas later 1968 models had fold out ash trays. Later model 1968 Chargers had a smoothed trunk lid underside support whereas early 1968 Chargers had 'cut-outs' in the underside support.

Everything you like about 68's is everything I don't. The front grille with no separator looks like the mouth of a Blue Whale sucking up plankton. Also, the taillights look like they are sitting out in the middle of a field all by their lonesome with how much blank metal there is around them. '69 made good use of that space. Also, you didn't explain WHY the '70 has a different bumper, hood and fenders. Yes, I know why.
