  • Carl H. Snyderman, MD, MBA speaks about innovation and creativity in surgery.
    Dr. Snyderman and his neurosurgery colleagues are pioneers in the development of minimally invasive endoscopic surgical techniques for the treatment of skull base and sinus tumors. The UPMC Center for Skull Base Surgery is considered a world leader in this type of surgery and attracts patients nationwide and internationally. Areas of clinical interest include tumors and other conditions of the skull base, orbital tumors, sinonasal tumors, and inflammatory disease of the sinonasal region.
    Dr. Snyderman is a former North American Skull Base Society president and is certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology. He is a member of the North American Skull Base Society, the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, the American Head and Neck Society, the American Rhinologic Society, the American College of Surgeons Academy of Master Surgeon Educators, and the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine's Academy of Distinguished Medical Educators, as well as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is on the editorial boards of the American Journal of Rhinology and Allergy and the Journal of Neurological Surgery-Part B: Skull Base. Dr. Snyderman is a member of the American Head and Neck Society's Education Committee, Skull Base Section, and chair of the North American Skull Base Society's Best Practices for Coding & Billing Task Force.
    Dr. Snyderman is a founding member and advisory board member of Pittsburgh Collaborative Research Education and Technology Enhancement in Surgery (CREATES). He has a secondary appointment in Bioengineering at the University of Pittsburgh Swanson School of Engineering. Dr. Snyderman is the founder and Chief Technology Officer of Respair, Inc.
