I have a 4 year old TYM 394 w/backhoe. It has been a great tractor requiring nothing other than scheduled maintenance. I tax my tractors probably more than most, the 394 has been excellent and I would buy another without hesitation. As far as the American / Foreign comments, some of the best compact tractors I have owned are John Deere, and I still have both matter of fact. A JD 850 which turns out to be a re-labeled Yanmar tractor, and a JD 355D which is powered by a Yanmar diesel. Both are 30 + years old, and are put to work weekly. This time I did not pay JD to private label my tractor.
What do you think of the T474 compared to your T394? I am stuck in between which one to go for it would be nice to have the kukje diesel however you spell it lol. But the slightly smaller design would be nice in the T394 and that is why I originally got the T264 but I know now that it is too small I have put 230 hours on it in a year it has done great just need something bigger.
I have the RK 37 which is a TYM and I love it so far. They seem to be just as well built as any of the top main brands or better than some. I do envy your cab, mine is an open station. Didn't think a cab would be the best idea for working in the woods, but sure would have been nice for those hot days bush hogging.
On new equipment, if you spray a yellow circle around all the grease fittings, it makes it easier to spot them in the future. Also useful for second owners who may be unfamiliar with all the locations. Some machines use the same fitting for oil bearings as they do for grease bearings, so if you don't mark those differently and you later get it wrong, then you'll have to tear it down to fix it.
I've read that TYM uses a Bosch style mechanical fuel pump instead of the fuel rail common to most tractors today. This allows you to delete emissions and the engine is none the wiser. That's a big plus to me as I know lots of farmers that refuse to buy anything made after 2015 because it's a PITA to deal with. Also mechanically driven fuel pumps seem to be much more robust and DIY repair friendly instead of having to have a dealership program a replacement fuel pump. Support right-to-repair in your state! Farmers today already face too many challenges and there are too few of us small guys left as it is. (By design unfortunately.)
I was looking at the TYM tractor I really like them but at the time the dealership by my place couldn’t make a deal. I went with a mahindra ( made in Tennessee) but TYM might be my next future tractor. Thank you for showing off your tractor 😁

Oil filter really easy to access but you didn’t show spilling oil everywhere because it’s facing down. Same problem on our case tractor. I have no idea why they couldn’t just flip it over
I believe you will find these filters are not equipped with anti-drain back valves (rubber flap). This allows oil to flow back into oil sump, engine shut down. No different then a cartridge type filter. Oil mess at minimum. Just wait 5 minutes after shutdown before removing.

Where is your tractor built, who builds it ?
I have a TYM purchased June 2018 with 50.1 hours on it and the floor is corroded so bad the steel has to be poor, contacted tge dealer which does not sell TYM anymore and comment is you are out of the warranty period! I would not recommend these tractors to anyone, less than 2 years and the corrosion is rampant. What does a user do watch their tractor rot right in front of their eyes!!!
How can it just rust ? Makes no since are you using snow plowing or corrosive environment?
@@chrisspence3216 no sir I only use it for mowing a small place it is a TYM454, it appears the metal is a poor grade of steel, I wish I could post the pictures on here as it is so disappointing.
@@fhuber7507 yes sir I have 15 acres with horses, just cleaning stalls and moving, it's a shame the floor is rusted as bad as it is. Each hole in the floor has corroded badly
@@chrisspence3216 How can it just rust? Are you serious? It just sat on a ship in the middle of the Pacific ocean for 6 months waiting to be un loaded! Do you think that has anything to do with it?
@@chrisspence3216 No sir, I talked to the dealer where I bought my tractor and he has stopped selling them due to some of these issues. The steel is bubbling up under the powder coat really bad and the factory said the tractor was out of warranty and nothing they can do. I like my tractor but dang it will not last due to the steel corroding
Is that same tractor rual king has?
TYM produces some of the RK lineup....but I don't think they make one this big for RK...this is the largest US Market TYM machine
I disagree about the size of the tractor I have a RK55 and it works great and I also have a Mahindra 3016 both tractors work perfect on my 136 Acre farm but that's just me
cool....but how many acres of open land are you mowing with a 6ft brush hog? I'll tell ya having the larger machine is much nicer. You can run in little circles for 50 hours on a 55 hp machine or 4 hours on a 110hp....at the cost of those 2 tractors you cold have bought a big boy....however..I will say that having a mid sized machine is also great...I got by with a JD 5065E for several years before upgrading
I'd still remove the air filter and at least check it, blow it out even though no alarms were going off.
Price ??
constantly changing in this economy brotha....a quick google search will have you covered
Is it really necessary to change trans hydraulic fluid on first service? That's a lot of fluid, 22 gallons...
I’ll stick with my John Deere tractors that have serviceability and parts local, I havnt even heard of this brand anywhere near me.
I hope you're ok with paying extra just because it has JD on it😁.
@@freedomfan4272 I hate seeing this joke. Deere cost no more than the rest and what other manufacturers have as many dealers? Supply parts for all the years Deere does? If you have a 1923 or a 2021 Deere you can either get a majority of the parts or all of the parts from them. No one else does that plus you also have to look at resell. No shot at tym but no resell there at all, your married to it because it's not going anywhere.
Even though its not US made anymore. I still agree, prices are just too high with the issues that come with it.
I pitty the fool with dirty oil!
Got a JD 5055E. Tractor made in India, has a US JD motor. It's a no frills, bang for the buck workhorse. No horn. Every dollar you spend is in engine/transmission/hydraulics.
Ask me 5 years from now how it's going....
I'm definitely considering buying a tractor and as much as I want to buy American . I just don't think it's going to happen . Leaning towards something orange 🤷
👍👍👍❤️
The company have a fit when you repair your tractor?
No volume
problem on your end my brotha
@@StoneyRidgeFarmer Sorry Josh, I am blaming my Wife for my mess up...:)
Flux capacitors?
Looks aweful clean...must not have alot of mud on this farm
when it's muddy...I avoid my pastures...however....cleaning your equipment prior to service is always a good idea. See a farm covered in mud and a total mess....you'll meet a farmer who hasn't figured out a low impact way of managing his land....low impact...better soil..better forage/crops...better product from the farm
If it were JD green...
Thats why you dont buy non American made stuff.
Why aren't you doing the work yourself?
if you had the opportunity to learn from a pro...wouldn't you take it?
Are you saying TYM are not made in the Great USA. Did you tell Mr Trump?
Thx not for supporting AMERICAN tractor manufacturers,,,, m fkr
Undeleted...
You’re an idiot Troy
